A screenshot of the post from the Imigration Officer is still on the sisters fb, THAT is the person who told her he made the Helsinki flight # AY142...she asked if it was DEFINITE and they replied to her by saying they are an Immigration Officer from Thailand so THAT defines the accuracy of the info eta 2BBM: YES they said that!!!!!

This does not sound as though the responsible investigating officer(s) in Thailand have made any confirmation at all.

This sounds like the kind of garbage that was going on with Jay Slater in Tenerife when the worst of social media got involved.

Perhaps his phone was stolen from him and that person ended up with his phone on a plane to Helsinki. It's not making sense to me at all yet.

I just don't understand why he isn't contacting anyone. Maybe he lost his phone charger. Or maybe his phone got wet and it's been in a bag of rice all this time. I'm sure there is a long list of possible reasons we can come up with.......................................................................................

I really have to wonder just WHAT Simon said to his girlfriend when he called her to say he was coming home after only a FEW days!!! He must have given a reason and she must have questioned him about his change in plans IMO. It might give an indication of his frame of mind for one thing.

They also added an emoji of a salute lol. Ridiculous!

...A user, identifying themselves as Pol Rithikrai, who works for Thai immigration confirmed Simon had boarded Flight no. AY142 on July 26 at 05:46 am. But despite the crucial update, Simon's whereabouts in Finland are still unknown.

This is crucial but not reported anywhere. As far as I can see, there's no official confirmation of what country he's in. This does make me believe it's still Thailand.
I wonder about the phone 'ping', if this this is a 'find my phone' type thing as they seem to have had the data very quickly.

Most of the information that is out there seems to be heresay.

It would be helpful if they could disclose detail, FOR EXAMPLE: 'he was intending to stay near Khao San Road' so at least bars/hotels etc could be targeted more specifically in whatever the area was. If he was travelling solo and socialising then it's likely he chatted with someone about his trip. Bangkok is a huge city, and not far off the population of London. So just saying that the destination was Bangkok is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Surely someone must have known a bit about his origins intentions, and surely the girlfriend knows why he said he wanted to return early.

So much seems very odd and err, unreliable. I hope that he is safe and located soon. Likely in Thailand, perhaps. Randos on FB could be a mere diversion, JMOOO.

I believe it could simply mean he was online on facebook or snapchat (or some other app) consistent with the time the flight would of landed, this could of been messages being being delivered at this time.
