The 911 Call

Hey Everyone,

It's been a while since I've visted this forum. But, I was reading this thread and just had to put my :twocents: worth in.

Maybe Darin came downstairs right after she had stabbed the children and herself. Asked her what the hell happened and why she wasn't on the phone with 911! Maybe, if he hadn't come down when he did she would have made sure the children were dead first!

I don't know just a thought.

Do you think she could have cut her self while on the phone? Maybe thats why shes telling darin.. someone came in here and intentionally did this darin.. like shes telling him she cut herself so to make sure that people "knew" someone came in there to help prove herself.

Also.. I think maybe also that she thought they were dead before she called, and then sounded more freaked out when maybe she saw he wasnt. She says stabbed so much and acts as if she actually saw the whole thing.. The hysterical voice of someone who SEEN them being stabbed IMO

I think most of us believe, as did the prosecution, that she cut her neck at the kitchen sink....judging by the clean up that luminol uncovered. Yes, I think that's the reason...she had to injure herself so as to make it look like she wasn't involved.

Yes, she's a good actress. I think she called 911 for herself. Her big old cut went a little deeper than she had anticipated.

I'm interested in your opinion of this call....not the transcript itself, per se, but of Darlie and the way she sounds.....

Here's my version of the 911 call. Any feedback is appreciated. It differs from the version posted on justicefordarlie in that I do not hear a dog barking at any time, and some of what Darin says is able to be transcribed, IMO. I'm taking a break from listening to it for a while....how probable is it that Darin caught her in the act? (that's a rhetorical question - I don't expect an answer). Darin can be heard clearly 24 seconds into the call - I think he was already downstairs before she dialed the phone...

I added the link to the audio file of the 911 call at the end of the transcript.

Justice2 - I look forward to your transcript and comments!:)

I think she's already told you the answer to you question Sharkeyes:

"This is so emotionlly draining for me that frankly I don't have the energy to take the crime scene evidence tie it to my knee jerk armchair analysis."

:waitasec:

The numbers beside the conversations are not time stamps.

Darin or someone is heard to making some racket that does sound like footsteps but the total length of the call is actually very short. Just ran downstairs is a phrase she does use but the definition of JUST is up to the perception of time of the person speaking, not the he person listening.

How many relationship fights could be avoided if we all agreed as to vague time descriptions.

Lets say someone got an obscene phone call that they found threatening and they decided to call the police, their mate ,or a neighbor to report it or check it out. A statement made such as...... I just got a call .
Obviously the call would have ended and another made to report it.

JUST is up to the opinion, as relevant to time of the person using the word.
In your opinion , how many seconds, minutes, etc. needs to elapse before the word just is not acceptable.
Once again it is a matter of the person talking and their opinion as to what just is. A few seconds, a few moments or even a few hours. Just in relationship to definition is up to the PERCEPTION of the person speaking.
How many people have heard " in a little while I'll do that, in a little bit or the phase we all laugh at Fixin' to.
When I want the yard mowed and I ask my husband when he is going to do it and he responds with in a little while, or I'm fixin' to. He isn't giving me an exact time he is going to mow the yard.

This is another example of perception--
In a previous post I think it was on another thread or maybe this one. I said in regards to a product I thought needed to be in all home first aid kits to read the instructions as to the products use before it was needed.
The web site that advertises this product states that no special training is needed to use the product.
My son, I love him dearly, objected to my post. He felt I had misrepresented the product in my advice.
Clearly to him reading the instructions means special training.

Could this possibly explain why men in general object to reading instructions to anything?

I have tried to put together some furniture that "required no tools needed and can be done without help.
What the manufacture did not reveal was this in order to put slot A into slot B 10 years of intensive yoga training was needed. Or at least that was my experience with the product or my perception of the instructions.

DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME, PLEASE.

DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME, PLEASE.

IMO she wasn't speaking for you. That 911 call convinces me even more of her guilt. Duuuuhhhh if someone came in there and did it of course it would be intentional. Darlie is an attention seeking, lying, murderous sociopath. IMO

The numbers beside the conversations are not time stamps.

The numbers immediately preceding the transcribed conversation are seconds and fractions - when listened to in real time and in its entirety, the numbers correspond to the amount of time elapsed during the call.

This should read....are minutes, seconds and fractions (I had to correct that, it was driving me nuts....)

This case has always driven me mad!

I've been listening to this 911 tape for a few days now. Does anyone else hear something after she says "someone came in here and intentionally did this Darin" ?? It's at 5:19:09. Sounds like hitting or smacking of some sort?? Like she's cracking him for getting off script. There's def. a sound there.

I have listened to it twice now. I don't know if it is the player or what but is sounds so muffled compared to when I listened to it last year. I tried to adjust my volume but it didn't help.

To me she sounds breathless and whinny. I don't understand why certain parts are so clear when she speaks and then the whinny muffled sounds. I am going to try it again!

Wendy,

I went back to listen and found the sound quality awful. I don't understand it because the 911 operator is clear as day. Maybe something has happened to the clip somehow?

Pocono, I cannot figure that out either. (scratching my head) She does repeat the "nothing has been touched" after "I bet if we could have gotten the prints maybe ...maybe..." quite suspicious to me!

There is alot in that call. WAY more than the words she speaks...the way she speaks, her tone at times, her comments during the silence. It's the strangest 911 call I have ever heard. I must've listened to it 100 times now. I still can't figure out what that sound I hear is. I also hear some of the statements different from what is transcribed.

I went back and listened again, to me it sounds like a cupboard closing, or something hitting against something else, or an object hitting a counter or floor....like "crack!" - Darlie is on the move during this call, and I agree with you 100% - there is a lot going on during the call. I'm interested in the differences you hear from the transcription - sometimes I wonder if I listened to it too much.....

It was entered in court, that when Darlie was making the 911 call that she was moving from room to room.

You know the busy person she was, fabricating evidence, cleaning up, smashing wine glasses, attempting to injure herself. So the sounds you hear on the tape are just Darlie trying to cover up her crime.

So in your opinion, Darlie was in the process of her clean-up/cover-up during this 911 call right? Then that would mean that Darin watched her do this correct? In your opinion do you think that Darin was involved? I am still trying to "place him" in all of this.

If I may remind everyone -- Darin still can't decide what he was wearing (if anything at all) when he came down the stairs. First he says, he put his pants on. Then, when someone asks him "so, your wife is screaming bloody murder, you take the time to put your pants on???" he changed his statement to he was nude except for his eyeglasses. I personally believe that Darlie did some of the staging in the minute or so before she makes the call and continues it for as long as necessary to complete her tasks, regardless of where Darin is. After all, whether or not he was in cahoots with her that night, he's in it up to his neck now. We'll never actually know the truth about when she did what.
