Neighbors near parents' home say "Reinking was raised in a REALLY GOOD CHRISTIAN home".

This is sounding a lot like the Austin Bomber kid- parents homeschooled him, very religious family, parents enabled

him, son can't handle the real world of work, socially maladjusted, now they cover for him hinting at Mental Illness.

Just switch out bombs for assault rifles. Similar story.

Here‘s the part of the press conference about the father acknowledging he returned the guns to TR:

Suspect in the deadly Waffle House shooting had previously had his firearms authorization revoked and 4 weapons were seized, including the AR-15 rifle used in the shooting; guns were returned by authorities to his father, who acknowledged he gave them back to him son, police say

These are the gun laws world. This is the life.

And once again, parents in denial.

He's a hero in my book. He probably prevented countless more deaths and injuries. Fantastic job James Shaw Jr. I'm glad you survived and wish the other 4 had also.

BBM IMO

:great:

This might be the first documented case of "beer muscles" being used to save lives!

He reported going to a frat party before the Waffle House, so it's just my good-natured speculation that he may have imbibed a beverage or two.

:great:

He had bizarre interactions with police, including someone reporting him for wearing pink woman's housecoat and carrying an AR-15 rifle.

So despite all these 'bizarre interactions' no one suggested maybe he needed some treatment or someone to oversee

him? Could the parents not have stepped in and forced some treatment on him?? So the family just allowed this

messed up son to roam the highways and streets of Tn. endangering people he comes across. Were their hands

really tied or did they just not want the burden of getting help for him? Wonder if they ever got him help when he was

younger. Wonder if he was a habitual drug user. Lots of questions here.

Also from your link:
On May 27, 2016, the Tazewell County Sheriff in Morton, Illinois, had encountered Reinking during what appeared to be a mental health crisis. At the time, deputies said he believed that singer Taylor Swift was stalking him and had climbed a building to chase him. He also threatened to kill himself.
And father gives him his guns back...wth. I hope he is charged as well. IMO

If he was over 18 it would be nearly impossible for his parents to force any treatment he didn’t agree to without a court deeming him incapacitated.

Most police departments struggle for even a 48hr psych hold. I know the one in my tiny city has recently started recruiting retired LEOs to sit with their psych holds at the local hospital because otherwise the wait is so long they (PD) have to transport them 3-6 hours away.

The bizarre pink housecoat story makes me wonder if he was a closet gay and having internal struggles coming to grips

with that. And the story about him exposing himself in public previously. Some sexual stuff going on with him.

I would be hard pressed to imagine the parents thought anything was wrong with him, since they gave him back his weapons.

Since LE has talked to parents today, now we get this comment from Nashville Police Chief, " I believe we're dealing

with MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES w/ the shooter. " ... already planning his defense.

just mo

but often there is not a defense being : planned: just reality

mental illness is real going on a mass shooting while forgetting your pants is not a planned future defense its mental illness in play

being concerned about taylor swift is mental illness

dropping by for a chit and a chat with trump is mental illness

30 40 voices in his head is mental illness -- not a future defense for possible bad act -- its history

i am confident more events will emerge

autism has been mentioned

cruising around in public in pink undies or whatever that was is mental illness

clearly the gentlemen is severely mentally ill

i am getting this image of this uneducated simple religious arena do we know what dad did for a living

for the unsophisticated often mental illness is not real this is sounding like that kind of system

the girls got educated what do we know about mom

he is sick

Re: White House--He did 32 hours of community service and stayed out of trouble for four months. FOUR WHOLE MONTHS!

Gave back more than once. How exactly did they not think something was wrong?

"When Reinking's father was contacted, he said he had taken three rifles from his son recently and locked them up, but gave them back because he wanted to move out of state. Reinking's sister then went to talk to her brother and try to convince him to let her keep the guns for safe-keeping."

Gave back more than once. They were also either present or informed of at least some of these bizarre episodes.

Sooooo why didn’t the family notify LE in Nashville?

i don't know there is something strange about him not being found at this point dead or alive

really starting to get concerned that he killed other people in some house and is in their house

he has not been dressed correctly for temperatures for what 16 hours at this point and i have told myself 60 degrees is not hypothermia but 16 hours and wet has got to be pretty cold by this point and night is coming

food?

i think he has got to be dead or inside somewhere

have helicopters been able to go back up since they first had to quit due to weather

two weapons missing only in pants i dont know do guns just fit in pants pockets??

seems like whoever noticed him just in slacks would notice he had guns in his pockets??

he has got to be inside somewhere dead or alive moo

Often people who IME are not carrying handguns intelligently or legally will carry them in the waistband of their pants. However this would have them very visible without a shirt. Some handguns are very small (3-3.5” barrels) and easily concealed in a pocket but a person with any sense or knowledge of firearms wouldn’t carry either of these ways but I don’t think this guy has much of a concept of reality.
