I just checked to see if the AA is still active and it is...

wonder what exactly is going on with this investigation?

From the silence of LE, it would seem that they don't need help from the general public.

From renewing the AA every 10 days, it would seem they do need help from the general public.

Mixed messages is what is going on. Chloie and Gage are being lost in the space between the two messages.

I live very near the gulf coast, and I was pleased to see their missing poster was in the center position on the "Missing" bulletin board at Wal-mart today.

March for Missing is Saturday: Intended to keep alive the memory of those missing in Shelbyville, TN.

~snipped~
The group will meet at the courthouse on the Shelbyville square at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for a prayer before heading to Shelbyville Central High School. The march will begin from there at 10 a.m., passing by Harris Middle School where Mook was a teacher, by Smelcer's home on East Lane Street, and Lane Parkway, where Taylor was reportedly dropped off by a friend before his disappearance.

It's also hoped the march will draw attention to the disappearance of Chloie and Gage.

This is just craziness. I can't believe it's been so long, and we basically know as much as we did on day one.

I have a sinking feeling that this is a Joseph Duncan type situation, and unless there's a lucky break, it could go cold very fast.

One thing these kids are old enough and still have their memories.

So sad! Kind of reminds me of the Sodder case. Very strange. I hope that they will be found safe and sound but beginning to feel we will never know what happened. Hope the kids know or learn that people are looking for them.

Yes, yes, yes...Please know Chloie and Gage...people are searching, people are praying.

Oh, how I would love to be there...
My sympathetic DH has our local arson investigator digging for status and information in TN. Lol.
Crimson's too new, lil bit troubled...with these missing children's cases.
Chloie and Gage...prayers for you...day in, day out.

I feel like it went cold as soon as the various teams went through the building rubble and found nothing. It seems like LE was assuming Chloie and Gage would be found in the rubble and when they weren't, LE was out of ideas.

Chloie and Gage being seen in the yard playing by the neighbour sounds exactly like Duncan, doesn't it?

I am convinced that someone did this and that they are probably pretty happy, thinking they've pulled off the perfect crime.

What must these lil ones be thinking? What have they been told? Do they know that their Gramma and Papa are dead?

A March for the Missing was held Saturday morning, Nov. 10, 2012 in Shelbyville. Among those on the minds of marchers were five Bedford County residents -- Antonio Taylor, missing since 1999; Bobby Smelcer, last seen in November 2010 and whose skull was found in April 2012; Shelley Mook, last seen in February 2011; and Chloie Leverette and Gage Daniel, who haven't been seen since a fire destroyed their grandparents' home in September 2012.

There are some photos of the march in this article.

Search continues for missing Bedford Co. residents

SHELBYVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Shelley Mook, Paul Massicotte, Chloie Leverette and her 7-year-old brother Gage are all from Bedford County and all are missing.

Hundreds gathered in Shelbyville to remember their missing loved ones but also to keep their cases in the forefront.

About 300 people across Tennessee are considered missing, with six in Bedford County alone.

Two of the six people missing in Bedford County are 9-year-old Chloie and her brother Gage who have been missing since their house burned down back in September.

Does anyone remember when and where it was that these children were last seen alive and who saw them?

The neighbors saw them three hours before the fire started.

According to Helm, the TBI has no direct evidence that the children, who were reportedly last seen near the home around 6:30 Sunday night, about three hours before the fire began, are victims of foul play

geez.. every time I see this thread bumped up I think I will see something.. anything.. about where these kids are and WHY there is still an active amber alert for them. (like the only one in the nation right now)

(I just deleted the rest of what I was going to say.. I am sure you guys all know what it was anyhow: basically use an amber alert then USE IT. If you are going to cancel it then let people know why And if you are going to keep it going then freaking keep it going vocally! what is the point!. )

Can you all imagine how frustrated the family feels?

I hope they can sift thru and figure some stuff out soon.

(sorry guys. I am just ranting.. I do NOT WANT TO SEE THIS SYSTEM OVERUSED and if they are going to use it here then Use it. Please. thank you and all the other polite words that go with that)

Friends and family gathered in a small cemetery to say goodbye to Leon and Molly McClaran.

Authorities still have an active amber alert out for both children who haven't been seen in over a month.

An Amber Alert remains active for the two kids, although the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they do no suspect foul play. The TBI did not ask any other states to issue Amber Alerts because they simply have no evidence to show the two children were taken anywhere.

From today's webpage on the Amber Alert system:

Suspect

Weight: 0
Gender: Male
Description: No Information Provided

So, how exactly does TBI think that there is no foul play suspected in their disappearance but still have a male suspect with no description?

If they believe the kids are safe somewhere with a male acquaintance, then there would be no foul play, but they would have a very detailed description.

It just doesn't make sense to me.

I don't know.

Sadly, I suspect that Chloie and Gage are dead. I think whoever abducted them probably killed them and dumped their bodies somewhere in the mountains.

If so, I hope that next summer, some hiker will come across them.

If the children are safe somewhere with a male acquaintance, the foul play is in the fact that the male acquaintance has not bothered to get legal custody of them.

I think they are saying the suspect is male because they are playing the odds. The overwhelming majority of perps in abductions are male.

I think the biggest problem with this case is that there isn't anyone in LE who has the conjones to stand up and say "I believe Chloie and Gage were abducted." Too afraid of being proven wrong if their remains are found in the building rubble.

I just cannot believe that three teams (my own count) have gone through that rubble and not found remains that are actually there. The University of Tennessee's "Body Farm" team alone would be proof enough for me.

Since the McClarens have been buried, I'm assuming that the ME was unable to find evidence that would point to murder (such as gunshot wounds). If the perp had a total lack of fear, he could have forced the McClarens into the basement, then started the fire and stayed at the top of the stairs with a gun of some kind until he was certain they were dead. Very risky, very dangerous, insanely dangerous...

It's just creepy and weird enough to be a Duncan type snatch. Will just have to have faith.
