Agree. It was after 11 pm tho. I think she was vunerable and too trusting. JMO, but if a man I was dating hadn't been married in 34 yrs and then popped the question after 2-3 mos of dating...it would shoot up red flags instantly.
Dana spoke with her mother via telephone @ 11:15 the night she disappeared. But, some early articles claim that Dana was lase seen that night @ 10:00. I'm trying to figure out where she was last seen, and by whom. So, I was just speculating that her husband's friend may have been in the apartment visiting with her at that time. Since something obviously happened to Dana after 11:15, and the neighbor heard someone leaving at 11:30, I'm thinking the man was still there when Dana talked to her mother. If so, why did Dana tell her mother she was ready to go to bed?

I'm beginning to think...and I think you were one who mentioned this earlier, Hollyblue...that whoever took Dana was hiding in her apartment. Wonder if her husband gave his friend his set of keys to the apartment? Dana probably got off work @ 2:00 p.m. (not sure) since her shift began at 5:30 a.m. She told a patient at the dialysis clinic that she was going to Wal-mart to fill a prescription so she would have gotten home later than normal. But, if it was someone else who saw Dana at 10:00 p.m., maybe she met with someone that night (had a late dinner with a friend/dinner & movie/drinks, etc.) and she left for home at 10:00. If so, someone probably sneaked in while she was out during that time because I couldn't see someone hiding in her apartment all afternoon and then waiting until late night to make his move, and without being detected. It would make more sense that Dana got home @ 10:30 p.m. from an evening out, got ready for bed, and talked to her mom before the killer stepped out of hiding and grabbed her from behind, placing a hand over mouth and a knife to her throat or gun to her head (explaining why no one heard Dana scream and why she went with him). Now, what happened after they got in the car, and why did her kill her?:waitasec: Did he want her to withdraw money from her bank account? Were any of her credit cards missing?

Sorry for the rambling. Just some thoughts. Hoping LE solves this soon.

Articles stating Dana was last seen at 10:00 p.m. on Nov. 9:

Tom Wilkes said he spoke with her on the phone the same day.

Her 2000 green Jeep Cherokee was found near Wilcox Tunnel on Wilcox Boulevard a day later with blood splattered inside on the dashboard.

Wilkes said his friend's relative lives a short distance from where the vehicle was found.

How convenient is that??
Some friend...
Wonder if Dana had a small life insurance policy?

Article also says per Mr. Wilkes,

"I have murder in my heart," Wilkes said in an interview about the disappearance of Dana Wilkes, his wife of just over a year.
Sounds like her husband has a good idea of what happened. Reminds me of Krista Dittmeyer's murder in New Hampshire. She was killed by friends of her boyfriend, for drug money, while he was in jail. Her boyfriend had asked one of the men to look after her while he was in jail. I suppose if the culprits were living in a drug culture, they could misinterpret the words "take care of her for me." :what:

I hope Dana's family has answers soon.

I live just outside Chattanooga, but with all the holiday stuff going on, I totally missed this case. So sad. :( It sounds as if she had a hard life, with dialysis and a husband in jail.

I know people think that crimes are never solved in TN, but that's really not true. Almost all the missing people around Chattanooga have been found, and the ones who haven't been are still active cases. I don't think it's that different from any other state.

Wilcox isn't a great part of town, and neither is Palo Verde Dr. That's no explanation except that maybe this poor woman felt secure when she shouldn't have, and let the wrong person into the house. Or it definitely could have been a home invasion.

There is no reason not to release a confirmation if it was her....which the husband says it is!!!! DNA results have to be back by now.

:rose::rose::rose:

RIP, Dana. You will be greatly missed. You lived your life helping others.

Prayers to your family and friends for their loss.....

:please::please:

I'm not an expert, but this means she was murdered IN the vehicle, right?

Something happened - I mean they used the term "blood splatter". I feel so bad for her son - remember he went on camera and never said anything about blood or her insulin. I'm sure LE had coached him.

also from the article:

We
stopped by the neighborhood near Missionary Ridge where Wilkes lived.
Her apartment empty still with decorations around the door. We spoke
with neighbors who declined to go on camera. They told us they were
scared and worried. They say the positive identification of Wilkes' body
confirms who some believe is the murderer
.

Wilkes incarcerated husband also believes he knows who the killer is.

"He
made the last phone calls to her phone
," said Tom Wilkes during a
jailhouse interview on December 10th, "and I think he probably tricked
her or some kind of way got her to come out because she trusted him
."

May this monster be found and fully prosecuted!!

RIP, Dana....

A jury in the courtroom of Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Rebecca Stern today found Tony Bigoms not guilty of all charges related to the kidnapping, rape and murder of a prostitute in 2002.

Another: The Defendant, Tony Edward Bigoms, appeals from his conviction by a jury in the Criminal Court for Hamilton County for attempted aggravated sexual battery, a Class C felony. The trial court sentenced the Defendant to six years' incarceration as a Range II, multiple offender.

The Defendant was charged with attempted aggravated rape. At trial, the victim testified that she was fifty-four years old and had been staying at the home of Dorothy Lawrence, the Defendant's aunt, due to her own financial troubles

Arrest made. Someone posted this on another board. Wonder if it's the man the husband suspected.

It was. Blunt force trauma was the cause of death and they still have not found her missing remains. Authorities say she was not sexually assualted, so the motive was probably just robbery. We'll see if the perp trys to point fingers at the husband sitting in jail as playing a part of the scheme.

Should have been put away long ago. imo

How the heck was he not guilty of that 2006 case when his DNA was found on the victim?

I'm guessing he "wised up" after that one and that's why Dana's head and hands are still missing. What a creep.

ITA! Not only was his DNA in her mouth and under her fingernails but it was also on the sock around her throat! I wonder how the people on the jury feel about his subsequent crimes. I imagine the DA must have botched the case somehow.

Since his other crimes all seem to involve forced oral sex, I wonder if there was a sexual component to this crime and that's the motive for the dismemberment.

ITA. I hope the evidence they have against him this time (for the horrible things he did to Dana) is enough to convict him 10X over.

He must have broken in to her house or was already there....or the sweetheart that Dana was, she may have left to go help him....such a caring person to have her life end like it did....

RIP, sweet Dana......

I wonder if her husband is still in jail?

Well it said this [unusual person] was due back in court on January 28, but I cannot find anything more recent than the 17th as far as online news, articles, updates, etc..

I'm not convinced there was no sexual assault as his preferred method appears to have been oral and with precious Dana's head and limbs still missing MOO is that's exactly why they're still missing...IMO it was not to avoid identification..it was to conceal/destroy his DNA evidence he knows he quite possibly left behind..jmo.
