Em, I'm not irritated with you. :blowkiss: You did a good thing! You made me go back and question it again. Now we found something we may have needed to find! I was just admitting I was wrong....

No problem.. I've come to realize I'm wrong lots of times....
Right now I'm just wondering IF the 15 or so searchers who combed the streets several months ago looking for Gail's jeep searched that area?

Aerial and water searches could happen without much fanfare and the news people probably weren't there to cover it.

Remember that some of the places where they might have done aerial searches are woods, forests, and mountains. Since we have several airports around Chattanooga as well as a LifeForce hospital helicopter and military helicopters on the weekend, people might not not even notice or know what was going on.

As far as the water searches go, we have an active Coast Guard here who would help with that. And there have been several drowning victims recovered since Gail went missing, so lots of people are out looking around the waterways all the time.

What I'm saying is, don't assume that nothing is being done just because it's not on Twitter or in the MSM.

Very true. That's why I said there are no news reports of the searches, and noted what the local had said. We have cases on here with searches that were happened upon by WSers and hadn't been in the media. If LE doesn't inform the media beforehand, and nobody sees the search and alerts the media, it doesn't make it into the press.

The only other things I found, Oriah, were statements that they were going to have aerial searches, and going to search Lake Jordan, but there are no reports of either having been done.

IIRC, a local posted a ways back that some aerial searches had been done, but I don't even remember who. I want to say it was fbx or fireflylink, but I just can't think of who atm.

But Matt could have avoided that completely. That's what bothers me. I would expect him to be falling all over himself to make sure that LE is not suspicious of him. By living in a shroud of secrecy,by way of lawyers, he makes himself a target and the by product of that trickles down to the kids. if for no other reason, open up for the kids so any thought of involvement can be put to rest.

His behavior before the fact wasn't honorable, so we know he is capable of being deceptive.

If gail truly just drove away, then he needs to deal directly with LE on that truth and he will be fine. he should have enough information, alibis and hard cell and/or computer data that will clear him completely. If he has already shared all that with LE, then good on him. But I don't think he has.

The clean get cleaner and the dirty get dirtier.

A couple of men that I consider "experts" in this situation, John Walsh and Mark Klaas, recommend to people who are suspected in a loved ones disappearance to immediately talk to LE and completely cooperate and work to clear themselves so that investigators can move on, if possible. Both of these men were suspects initially in the disappearance of their children, Adam Walsh and Polly Klaas. They were cleared pretty quickly, too. I have heard them both speak about this and they seem to understand that it is typical for the immediate family to be the first suspects and you help the investigation if you assist in clearing yourself from the get-go. :twocents:

Oriah, I contacted Clive B, who's coordinated the volunteer searches, and asked him if he could provide this info on the searches they've done. He replied that if you will contact him, he will be happy to provide it to you. If you'll check your PMs, I've sent you his contact info that way, because it's his personal information.

When heading west on Balmoral, (after you've looped around Sunset- headed back toward 127) is there another, much smaller loop on the west side of 127?

There is one that goes behind the Space House off to the right if you are going down the mountain. It has houses and some duplexes on that road. It is pretty narrow in places and dead ends.

I think that's an excellent question, Em. But I'll tell you one thing...it's not gonna be me! I don't like the description I got from my friend. I swear, I've driven by there probably 1000 times, and I've never noticed it.

ETA: I must admit, Em, I was irritated with you for not believing me when I told you it wasn't there. I'm glad you were persistent enough to prompt a second look. I'm curious as to why it rates a spot and a name on Mapquest when it isn't even a marked road, though.

Several weeks ago, a small plane circled and went back and forth across the mountain for what it seemed like about two hours. I noticed it as I was out doing yard work and don't usually hear much noise. I thought it might be a search as it was just unusual

This is correct. It is past the townhomes, approaching from the first intersection at the top of the mountain. The townhomes are closer to the golf course and across the street. This is a different set of townhomes than mentioned earlier.

I'm going to throw in a ringer here...why is everyone so heLLO bent on thinking she is somewhere on the mountain? Think about this for a minute if you will. If lets say MP is involved and he had paid a third party to get rid of Gail, do you think he would want the dirty deed done in his backyard? Personally, I don't think so. I believe it she was taken she was taken out of the area so she would never be found. After all, there had been a two day head start where no one was looking for that vehicle or Gail because no one knew she was missing. I honestly don't believe you will find her on the mountain.

My exhusband shipped me off to a foreign country on business and the guy who picked me up at the airport was suppose to turn me over to thugs over there to get rid of me. I would have never believed it if it hadn't been for the fact the guy told me why I was there and that he couldn't go through with it. He told me my husband had paid him big bucks to get rid of me. In the end, the guy took me to the Army Post since there was no Air Force Base there and told me not to leave the base for my own safety. He told me to go home and divorce my husband and get as far away from TN as I could with my children. When I arrived at the Army Post I called home and spoke with my mother who said one of my dear friends and neighbor had come to her and told her about the plans my husband had for me in the foreign country and told her to tell me to get the heLLo out of there. I flew home safe and sound ahead of schedule without my husband's knowledge that I was coming home and let me tell you he was fit to be tied when I got back to the states when it was his plan that I was never to be coming back.

You have a very valid point there Em, but if this is the case then its hard to believe that she hasn't been found yet. I did think about that possibility in the beginning but I'm not so sure about that anymore, except for the fact that the country side is covered up right now with foliage and maybe she hasn't been spotted yet. When the ground cover starts to die off for the season then maybe she will be found if this is the case.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't AD mention in one of her interviews that she took care of both lake houses and that someone had put a paddle lock on a storage area under one of the lake houses and that she broke the lock? I wonder if LE ever took cadaver dogs in that storage space? Its just a thought. Nothing like hiding it right under everybody's nose.
