Has anyone considered that it was Karen Bobo that gave LE the tip where to find Holly's phone. That it was Karen Bobo who was contacted and told where the phone was and she in turn contacted LE.

I don't know if this is true, but I'm just saying......

...snipped by me...

Yes, I brought up this theory in the last thread, but it kind of went over like a lead balloon on this forum for the most part. LOL

I think it is very possible that the kidnapper or kidnappers have been in some kind of direct contact with Holly's mom or dad. Maybe even Holly herself, but I'm not leaning as much toward that possibility.

I am just not putting a tip together with close ground searches thereafter, and thinking it could be a video sighting, etc...

The tip could simply be a caller from a place where he/she spotted something and that is why LE responded with searchers. It does not have to be someone who "knows something".

I'm not even sure we're talking about the same place. I'm talking about the place where the people were down on their hands and knees searching. Something sent them to that location to search.

But, he also could easily have been hanging around her school that morning if she normally got there at an earlier time and he wasn't aware of it being a test day. Maybe that's why he went to the home......because she didn't show up at the school when he expected her.

I'm just trying to imagine different scenarios that could have happened since none of us know more than she was abducted.

I dont think he would have been hanging around her school that morning before he went to her house. We dont know if/when he was there at all. SO its odd for me to think ok we know we can go look in front of her school for this guy if they didnt know who it was or that he was there. Like why didnt they go look in front of the library or in front of the 7-11 store?

Wow, I feel just the opposite - this was one of the fastest LE and other agencies ramp-up to full steam that I've ever seen - so much so that for a time I was puzzled by it, but sure glad to see it!

ITA!

I've never seen a case where LE has jumped on the case so fast and arranged searches so fast. Nor have I seen where LE searched on their own night after night. There was and is a sense of urgency in all the searches they did.

What the common factor I've seen in many cases is LE saying the person is a runaway and it isn't until a week later that they realize the missing person just didn't runaway. Precious time was wasted!

it was - - and right when we all needed the laugh. :great:

not to mention :sleuth: I was kinda hopin' everyone would reveal their house square footage, but ... only score took the bait. :D

LOL! :blowkiss: score!!

Are you housing Bigfoot there also?

yes ma'am. this totally bugs me. :banghead::banghead: why indeed?!!

What pointed them to the significant Easter find?

Must have been the Easter Bunny.

arrrggggghhhhh...

This case is very mysterious. It's given me a case of the mystery-shakes.
And a couple of headaches.

Well if the person called to say that HB was alive and that they had her and to prove that they were the kidnapper they gave out the tip to the item that was found, LE would immediately search the area for other evidence. Not sure if the school search was part of that supposed tip or if it was already going on at the time that everything else was happening?

MOO

It's a very plausible theory. And if it did happen that way, makes you wonder why they would have called them instead of LE.

:D now you remind me of Mr. Monk.

can you imagine being on your hands and knees combing the grass for cigarette butts?

 & blessings to the searchers.

Hello everyone:seeya:
Just checking in from MI to see if there is any news. Hope all are safe from weather, we had nasty storms this morning.

Something that I have noticed about this case is how quiet the family is. Mom & Dad not going in front of public to talk to Holly or kidnapper(s) makes me think that LE kind of knows who they are dealing with IMO. They are being sequestered from the media for a reason. It just seems very strange to me. I don't even see her cousin, Whitney putting anything out there anymore. :panic:

yesterday the tbi said this:

Media reports had linked the newest item to a phone tip, but Helms said during a phone conversation that it was her understanding that the new item had been recovered during the search effort.

I think that somebody who knows or heard something called the tip line and said "hey...you might think about searching here..." as it was a place that hadn't been searched previously. Not saying this person is involved, but perhaps they know who is or have heard rumblings among the community and thought to call in. (This would be more in line with some things I've read on FB from those who participated in the search.)

However, this isn't the first time I read it was Holly's mom who was called who in turn called LE with a message.

That first link you provided is City Hall. Classes were held there until the new building was completed.

I was just getting ready to post to add that it must be a relatively new building. When looking at the site in Google Street View, it is still being built, i.e. just a construction site.

I've been keeping up with this case pretty religiously and wanted to make a few comments:

1. I know it seems confusing with how LE is handling things. I have to remind myself that this is a very high profile case in what appears to be a low profile area. I commend the local LE for involving the TBI so quickly, but the early reports could be just a less sophisticated group of LE trying to get some information out.
2. There is a vast area to be concerned with. I live in a large city, and a daytime abduction would have huge risks. People everywhere, areas that can no be accessed by the public, etc. If you factor in a lower response time that you'd find in a densely populated area, this gave lots of time for the perp and Holly to go one of many directions. Especially when the officers responding could have been confused about what happened and gathering information before immediately reacting. Not condemning LE, just trying to look at it logically.
3. Holly must have felt safe at her house and in her community. I don't walk to my car without checking everything, keys in hand, one hand free, aware of my surroundings. But again, I live in a city. No one expects to be confronted in front of their house at 7am, but even more so in the area she lived in. And if she was confronted, chances are she wouldn't suspect anything sinister at first. I dont' believe it was in her nature to be suspicious.
4. I personally do not believe the perp is a local. I realize I'm in the minority here, but I honestly think that community is so hightenly aware of anything unusual that a local would be found out. I also think that someone who thought their friend/family member/church member was invoived would turn them in. I dont' believe anyone in this community would want to keep the perp hidden.
5. I would love to know Holly's schedule the last few days before she was abducted. I think she came into contact with someone she didn't know and they took notice. I think she could have responded to a casual conversation which to her would be meaningless and just friendly. But it may have triggered a predator.
6. Last thing...I think we're giving the perp way too much credit for having thought this all through to every detail. I don't think it was. I think more than anything, he was "lucky". And I think the "significant find" will make him more unlucky. It is frustrating with so little information, but I have to think that LE has MUCH more information and this case will be solved very shortly.

Very good thoughts!!

I agree with you, and want to add that it's useless sometimes to try to second-guess LE because every case is different, and always handled by different investigators. No two agencies do everything alike, it depends on so many things, but mainly who is in charge and what they know in the very beginning. Game plans can change at the drop of a hat.

It's a very plausible theory. And if it did happen that way, makes you wonder why they would have called them instead of LE.

Quoting my own post....aha, if it did happen this way, could be the tipster thought their phone would be traced if they called LE?

Well if the person called to say that HB was alive and that they had her and to prove that they were the kidnapper they gave out the tip to the item that was found, LE would immediately search the area for other evidence. Not sure if the school search was part of that supposed tip or if it was already going on at the time that everything else was happening?

MOO

But WHY on Earth would anyone do that? If they planned, staked her out and her home... why all of the sudden would they be calling in tips?

This comment makes no sense to me. WHY would the "newest item" be a phone tip?? It was stated in another article that the item was found after a phone tip had been called in late Saturday or early Sunday. Makes sense then that the "tip" would have directed them there and therefore it was "discovered" during the search effort.
