I believe a neighbor heard her scream

we heard about that early on but then not another word about it.

when the press said a woman called 911, i think many assumed it was the neighbor that heard Holly scream. then again... many assumed it was Holly's mom that called (along with her brother) i hope the press gets ahold of the 911 tapes today!!

I hope so tooo id love to hear them!
It was first reported The mom was home with the son then it went to the son called mom at work and they both called 911 and there is the story about the neighbor hearing a scream.

its all very confusing!

take this fwiw (re: items cbs is reporting found):

Investigators have discovered several of Bobo's Bobo's personal items, including her cell phone, purse, and lunch box.

another snip on the not ruling anyone out:

Authorities refused to rule out anyone in Parsons, Tennessee as potential suspects in the disappearance of 20-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo, and are asking for help from people in the rural community as the search continues.

"We have not eliminated anyone from the investigation," Mark Gwynn, Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, told "The Early Show... that's why we ask the community to look among themselves."

I can assume that LE is working on this in various ways for various purposes:

All the hunting in the woods may just be for evidence. Any little thing of interest or use has to be found... Aparently things have been found also, just not disclosed. So that is encouraging.

I am sure there is alot of office work going on. People sifting through phone records, internet stuff like email, face book, etc., and investigating where Holly worked, socialized, etc.

I assume also that cops are checking out various fellons and offenders that live in the area. Some of the statewide or nationwide work could involve checking on people who moved into or out of the area. Perhaps there was a similar case in, say, a neighboring state last year and cops are comparing notes.

the mass confusion & mis-information on this case reminds me soooo much of the Morgan Harrington case. I'll never forget when LE on Morgans case said she was wearing a Panera (as in the bread) shirt, when she was wearing a Pantera (as in the band) shirt. omg *facepalm*

I notice the headline there "Holly's Kin NOT Ruled Out" interesting.

While that article mentions items supposedly found I think the one I posted earlier said that reports of a phone etc were false?

The duct tape is in that piece. Surely they know by now if it had blonde hair on it and if it's Holly's hair. How long does hair analysis take?

Now in theory they could get fingerprints or touch dna from duct tape. Although that info is less useful if the suspect has no prior criminal history and isn't in the system.

"We have over 250 leads that we're running...the next analysis of a piece of evidence could be a key in solving this particular incident," said Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. "I can tell you that we have not eliminated anyone from this case."

Some of that key evidence includes the 20-year-old nursing student's lunch box found miles from her home. The other evidence being analyzed was found in the woman's driveway and includes blood on the ground and duct tape with blond hair stuck to it.

another snip:

"We're analyzing that evidence at the TBI [Tennessee Bureau of Investigation] crime lab as I speak and we're hoping...that we will come to conclusion pretty rapidly," Gwyn said.

DNA analysis (if they have hiar roots and not just broken pieces of hair) may take a while as that is usually sent out to a lab. Im sure they can rush it but normally DNA takes months. Remember in the Anne Pressly case, they helped catch her killer in November because they just got DNA back in another assault case that happened in I believe April. So in that instance (Arkansas) it took 7 months.

Hair can be compared microscopically in a matter of minutes. A trained specialist can note color similarities, etc. While not a perfect match they could say it was similar or not or even human or not (not from a dog that, say, walked on a piece of tape)

finger prints on the duct tape??? one can only hope eh?

eta: I see you just said the same thing above Carla :)

Thanks, Carla. I was thinking they could probably at least come out and say "possibly her hair" or "no hair" sometime soon. I know DNA takes longer.

i take the duct tape (if it turns out to be related to this case) as a good sign! it means (IMO) the person is keeping her alive & wanted to transport her- not just kill her.
