It bothers me also. Was Joe in school all this week? Has he been sick? Does he miss school often?

What if this person really did not see Joe? What if ........whatever.

I know the sheriff says it is credible, but if it is not, then all of us who follow these cases are suspicious of the outcome when the child is not found early on.

Please Lord, help find this little tyke. :please::please::please:

Do when know when his birthday is? He may not be in school yet. I mean, with autism I would imagine he would qualify for special needs preschool but not all parents seek that out so who knows.

ETA - Nevermind. I forgot the parents said they went to wake him up for school.

They say the footprints were near a creek. Anyone know what the conditions of this creek are?

Quite a robust volunteer effort - so great to see. Poor little guy... praying they find him soon. We have an autistic family member...I do think little Joe could have covered a lot of ground. With the autistic element, there can be a dogged focus that is amazing -- also a drive that can (for lack of a better word) keep them sustained, so I do hold out hope.

That said, he is very little boy who has been out in harsh elements. Today/tonight's search is especially crucial.

I agree with comment upthread that Joe could hide from crowds, if he hears a lot of commotion or loud sounds, but it could also work to draw him out, with curiosity. Just as with all human beings, there are differences among those with autism.

Hoping today is the day they find Joe - and that he is okay.

Good article, thanks! It covers much of last night's update from the Sheriff and also includes the new info about the footprints.

Here's another good link that has the 16-minute morning update from Sheriff Bledsoe and video of some of the aerial search:

For now I'm inclined to believe that Joe did walk off. IMO today is critical in that if he's still alive then he's reaching the outer limit of surviving without water or food and fighting off hypothermia. With cold weather rolling in it's imperative he be found.

Ugh.. God bless those guys. Terrible job. Necessary, and I'm glad they do it, but.. ugh :(

Did they finish searching the pond, or ..? It worries me when they move the cameras.

I know, right? My stomach's in knots right now! No movement or sighting of ambulance or coroner's vehicle - I'll take that as a good thing for now.

And now the live feed ended.
I’m a bundle of nerves,, UGH!

Father Of Missing 5-Year-Old Describes Agonizing Search For His Autistic Son
http://cw39.com/2018/04/06/father-o...cribes-agonizing-search-for-his-autistic-son/
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The father of missing 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels spoke out for the first time since going missing, saying he is puzzled by Joe’s disappearance.

Joseph Daniels talked with NewsChannel 5 Thursday night. He said he woke up to get the boys out of bed Wednesday morning – Joe slept in the same room with one of his brothers – but it quickly became apparent he was not there.

Daniels said he noticed the door was unlocked and realized his son must have gone outside sometime during the night. He said Joe has wandered off before during the day and was easily found nearby, but he had never left at night.

Many have wondered why Joe’s parents haven’t joined search crews to look for their boy, but Daniels said investigators suggested he and his wife not take part because their scent might distract the K-9 units from the similar scent left by their son.

Daniels told NewsChannel 5 police collected Joe’s scent from his clothing and his pillow to expose to the search dogs.

Police have questioned both Daniels and his wife and have kept in constant contact with them during the massive manhunt.

This little guy walked REALLY FAR! I hope they get more arial thermal imaging technology out there asap.

I wonder if there are any places he is familiar with where he may go. A church, maybe?

What happened to see something suspicious call it in. Maybe it’s just me with my background in psych that when I see something off along the street, a person a child I call it in and let the police take care of it. Whatever time of day
