I didn't hear that. Some how I ended up on a different trial for a while. Just now realized that. Dumb me!

Joseph Daniels has family support in the courtroom. Possibly “Big Joe”, his wife and the “aunt” on the end. Family support, especially from those who lived in the home, provides good optics in front of the jury.

In the recorded TBI interview, Joseph Daniels says his wife had caught Baby Joe trying to unlock the padlocked door before. A door was padlocked because the autistic boy had escaped before. An escape, six months before his disappearance, prompted the parents to get the lock.

A new witness is on the stand. Agent Steven Kennard with the TBI. We’re learning he interviewed Daniels. Jury is going to hear it now. They are also getting a copy of the transcript. The size of the packet lead one juror to raise his eyebrows. It’s thick.[/URL]

The grandparents lived in the residence, but were out on the road. Big Joe drove a tractor trailer.

Daniels says nobody knows where he (Baby Joe) is. “Only he does.” Tells agent he planned to keep the lights on for him if he came back at night.

Monday, June 7th:
*Trial continues (Day 4) (@ 9am CT) – TN – Joseph “Joe Clyde” Daniels III (5) (April 3, 2018, Dickson) – for *Joseph Ray Daniels (28/now 31) “father” arrested & charged (4/7/18) & indicted (6/8/18) with 1 count of 1st degree murder, 1st degree felony murder, aggravated child abuse, filing a false report & tampering with evidence. $1M bond.
Confessed on 4/6/18. Waived rights to Prelim hearing. Joseph Daniels told officers that he beat his son to death after his son urinated on the floor. But recanted his confession saying he was coerced.
Trial began on 6/1/21 to 6/2/21 with jury selection for Joseph only. Jury will be sequestered during trial. Jury picked from Hamilton County not from Dickson County due to pretrial publicity. Trial began on 6/3/21. The trial will run Monday thru Saturday 9am to 5 or 6pm. 12 jurors & 4 alternates.

6/5/21 Saturday, Day 3 of Trial: State witnesses: Detective Sarah McCartney continues her testimony. Body camera video of Sergeant Daniel Baker who was with McCartney. Baker was killed 2 months after this video, so he cannot testify. Video showed Sergeant Baker checking the interior of a semi truck at the Daniels residence. TBI interview played.

*Krystal Nicole Daniels (27/now 30) “mom” arrested & charged (4/8/18) & indicted (6/8/18) with criminal responsibility aggravated child neglect & filing a false report. Charged (5/26/20) with criminal responsibility aggravated child neglect, accessory after the fact & making false reports to officers. $1M bond.
Trial will be set after Joseph’s trial ends.

There will be a motions hearing first before the jury hears from Alex. He is 11 years old now. The jury is not present.

Alex is Krystal’s biological son and Joseph is his stepfather. He lived at 1112 Garners Creek with Joe Clyde. He currently lives with his aunt and uncle. Alex had a moment where he broke down and started to tear up on the stand. This isn’t easy for him.

I have an 11 yr old son...I can’t imagine him having to give testimony in something like this. Putting Alex through this is so WRONG when it could have been resolved prior!! MOO
