I wouldn't be so sure. I was 15 not too long ago and my conversations weee a lot more in-depth then that. I talked politics and philosophy ect. They had to have talked and connected before this, to allow for the grooming ect

It's too bad because she should be enjoying her fun teen years with sleep overs with her girlfriends, sharing makeup tips, checking out the latest fashion magazines for new clothes and hairstyles, giggling with friends discussing cute boys in the school. Not going on the run with some old perv that groomed her. Heartbreaking.

BTW I'm in Southern CA the Walmart video and stills was shown on a segment of our local news just now.

Mothers are supposed to be nurturing, loving, safe. Elizabeth got ripped off in the mother department. It's that horrible woman's fault that Elizabeth has fallen into this impossible trap. She is no better than the creep who kidnapped Elizabeth. Time is running out. This guy made a 'no turning back decision'.

If they went 'West', they could be in California even. Why hasn't their been a nation wide Amber Alert?

Been as impatient as everyone to get a quick resolution of this and ET back home.
I tried to go back on some earlier high profile disappearances to compare this to see the time frame when to expect the victim was returned and when we could expect an ending
Some I remember

Hannah Anderson - about 1 week her and captor were discovered about 1000 miles away in a campsite, captor shot

Abigail Hernandez - 9 months, walked back into her home, no more than 20 miles away, capture arrested and convicted

Elizabeth Smart- 9 months, discovered on a public street, she was only 18 miles away - captors convicted.

Jaycee Dugard - 16 years, walked in to a parole office. Captors convicted

ET - when I tried to compare this to expect when her return the one problem is that these abductions was forced. Can't use any of the other cases as a benchmark her since the circumstances are different. Don't want to get into a mind control over a physical abduction debate. Those were physical and violent, I don't get this "disappearance" and how it is playing out. IMO everyone in this has some part in how bad this went.
I feel horrible for ET how her life has begun and is unfolding. I hope she finds a better life, not with that creep -, lives are shattered. I empathize with the father having raised teens and it is a difficult time and I hope he finds eventual peace.
Time for me to go into lurker mode given the latest developments I don't think I can add any more. I'll watch this and learn and maybe help with the next one.
And to TC I know you will get what you deserve, not ET but a long sentence for the rest of your life. You gave up yours.

I wonder why they haven't released any other video of them from this WalMart. They said they know he only bought small items, nothing expensive, whatever it was exactly. That tells you they have video of them at the cash register checking out. If they have video of them entering the store, they surely have video of them leaving the same store. And I would bet they also have video of them in the parking lot going to their vehicle. So why is this the only one we get to see out of all of those?

I have not seen this pic of ET before.

Good point. In addition, TC worked with, and sought the attention of, teens so he probably can carry on a conversation on topics of interest to younger folks (popular culture, etc.).

Wow is that her? I went to the link but doesn't show this photo. She looks even younger than I thought

Brittany Mae Smith, one week. They went from Virginia to California in that time and were apprehended in San Francisco. They were also spotted in or near a store. There's a video of her and her abductor, Jeffrey Scott Easley, walking through a store that is eerily similar to the one of ET and TC posted today. Check out this link:

By some earlier reports ET seemed to be trying to break free from the cycle she endured from time spent with her Mother. She had a part time job. There was something about her calling her Brother repeatedly to make sure he would be at Church as her Sponsor. Something referenced that struck me as to the Catholic Religion. I cant remember as I am not Catholic. She was no longer barely home schooled and abused by her Mother. She was on the right path. Then along came the monster. Back down the rabbit hole. My heart aches for her.

Is there any video from that still of her walking behind him? Before they get the shopping cart. I've only seen the video of them after they retrieved the shopping cart. I wish we could see them leaving Walmart as well.

That is all the video that the TBI is releasing. It's obviously heavily edited. I would guess that they would release more of the video, if they thought it was important to the case.

ET's face shape is, IMHO, one of her most distinctive features - classic heart-shaped face.

It's 9 seconds, guys. It tells us nothing, IMO. Not to mention, victims don't always look or act like victims.

Not looking or acting like a victim gets used against assault and abuse victims all the time. When we start judging whether someone in a victim by how they act in a 9 second video...it's just a really slippery slope. JMO.

If the rest of the video showed her looking more like a victim, why wouldn't the TBI release that video? Do you think they chose this part of the video to try and make her look less like a victim?

Agree awefull

She is a victim no matter how she looked

She looks like a cute young girl. This man is really sick posing as a die hard Christian. What a phony

I think the oversized shirt of his is a strange thing to wear. If she was wearing it on her own you would think she would make it look more cute, roll up the sleeves or something. There is something just "off" about this other than she has been kidnapped by a 50 year old. Seems also if she's wearing it because its all she has that they would of picked up something cute for her to wear. It's Walmart, they have cute stuff for cheap. I do not get the impression that he is trying in any way to make her happy. I really wish she was found.

More than likely they bought new clothes before they left the store. She obviously didn't bring a lot of clothes with her. So they have probably been doing a lot of shopping.
