One picture of her had a bright blue background, so did one of his. I assumed this was from the DMV in TN, but I don't know.

Or their school ids. That's what I figured since she is only 15 (too young for driver's license) and they look like the same exact style.

The mother is scheduled to appear in court next month and has pleaded not guilty to five counts of abuse and neglect involving several of her children. The girl's father filed for divorce Monday, citing the alleged abuse.

I do not see her as a baby or a child, she's a teenager, 15 yrs old, old enough for a learners permint to drive. Jmo

Sorry for the side note but aren't they still happily married? How did she ruin his life? What she did was wrong, no question about it, but I don't see the point in lying about it ruining his life when they are married with kids and seem happy.

While not Gitana1 it seems to me he didn't get to be a teenager, enjoy his youth.

??? But not on warrant seizure return of the cabin ???

Error I think..

At daybreak Thursday, Siskiyou County authorities were able to take Cummins into custody without incident and rescue Thomas, who appeared to be unharmed. Two loaded handguns had been in Cummins' possession, according to police.

I can see that but I still think it's a stretch to say it ruined his life. He gets to say that but I don't think we get to make that judgement for him.

But I'm done with this topic so it doesn't fill this thread too much! :)

I didn't see license plates nor guns on the list left in the cabin as things taken.

There were 5 or more pages on the floor. The camera only panned on one. I'll look for that video and post a link.

So I think it's interesting then that media didn't mention it. I would think they would def point that out as they did other items.

This story is all over the place. One report says one thing, the next says something totally different. As far as the guns go, they would have been taken as soon as they found them which most likely was when the first arrested TC. I wouldn't be surprised if he told them where to find them. IMO

I see that makes sense, they were not on the list because they were taken prior to search?

"Seem" is the key word. She manipulated and groomed him starting when he was 12. She refused to leave him alone when ordered to, after her arrest, and continued to sexually assault and manipulate this minor child.

While committing statutory rape on the then sixth grader, she, already a mother of 4, age 34, who truly knew how to prevent it, allowed herself to become impregnated with this boy's child, forever binding him to her. Then, even after her arrest, while violating the conditions of bail, this predator again became impregnated by her victim, a second time.

So he was now the father of two children by his rapist.

He is Samoan. In that culture, family ties are very important. And it is a matriarchal culture. Not patriarchal. So family lines stem from the mother, not dad, making the connection between his kids and their mother extremely vital to him.

Vili was deprived of his innocence. He was deprived of his childhood. He did not have his first sexual experience with an equal. Instead, it was with an adult 22 years his senior. An adult who groomed him and sexually abused him.

By dint of her pregnancies, and his culture, he was forever bound to the woman.

He had no opportunity to develop as a normal child or teen. To date other kids. Go to school proms. Have a first kiss with another kid his age. Go to college. Live a childfree life while still a teenager. Meet a mate of his own choosing when he became an adult capable of making that choice.

He expresses happiness but I think that's just what he has to tell himself to survive. His life was ruined, IMHO.

Eta: I think it's relevant to this case because some people feel that if she wasn't forced at gun point or via direct threats to go with him, she consented to her abuse and thus it's not as bad a crime. Or that a child can decide to mate with their predator for life and still be "happy".

I disagree. Sexual abuse of a child, including statutory rape after grooming, has devastating effects on males and females.

To add to your points, that goes to show you just how long and deep the grooming process goes. He was groomed at such a young age, it is possible, probable even, he still doesn't even realise he's been groomed at all.

Or so he can coach her on how to protect him. Talk about witness tampering opportunity.

I cannot fathom that they left the two together, unless as you bring up they were left together purposefully being recorded, as FBI would anticipate in cases like this he would be recorded 'till the end grooming her.

Gitana, is that a consideration?

Handguns may be on a seperate list. They may even be turned over to the ATF. I think they would be handled differently.
I can't imagine why anyone would leave loaded weapons in a vehicle in the middle of no where.
They could easily be stolen or found and used against you.
Then again, having a loaded firearm within reach of minor is a crime in some states. I also thought in California it was illegal to conceal carry. Not that anyone who had kidnapped a child would follows the rules anyway.

Per Sheriff Lopey:
"Two loaded handguns were recovered in the cabin along with various personal items belonging to both Cummins and his female victim."

Every time I see or hear "#strong #unbreakable #love" - I throw up just a little....
I throw up a LOT. #Gag #CumminsIsHideous

I have to disagree. The defense should go with a Cialis-caused temporary insanity defense. That would work better, because everyone is wondering what the %$^&*@ he was thinking.

IMHO. :cow:
I was thinking yesterday that this just might be something the defense may try and pull. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Thomas and Cummins wrote emails to each other but did not send them -- instead they would save the email in the drafts folder of Cummins' school email account, the Maury County District Attorney and the Sheriff's Office revealed Friday.

"They would write the message and let it save as a draft," Maury County District Attorney Brent Cooper explained to ABC affiliate WAAY in Huntsville, Alabama. "The other person would log in, read the message and then delete it and then write another message that was saved as a draft."

Not sure if this was posted, first i've seen it.

I bet he got this from the TV show we talked about earlier, "Hunted".

I don't think it matters where the guns were, cabin or car. Even if TC had a concealed carry permit in TN, it would not be legal in California. Also being in possession of a loaded weapon in the car or on his person during the comission of a felony is illegal as well.
Potato- Potahto

https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/pubfaqs#12I live in another state and have a permit to carry a concealed handgun that was issued in my home state. Does my permit allow me to carry a concealed handgun while in California?
No. CCW licenses/permits issued in other states are not valid in California.

(Pen. Code, §§ 25400-25700.)
