I think JC selling the house is what she knows she "has to do". She has most likely been the only responsible adult and understands the financial crisis she is faced with.
Smart move of her and I accept it as a sign she may be able to move forward and become independent (unless she is doing it to help TC). I was pleasantly surprised to see her NOT in the courtroom beside her daughters.

I like the Daily Mail, they always have the best pictures and their sources are usually confirmed in MSM about a day or two later.

Not usually. But 90% of their stories are about how some model or actress is showing off her assets so it doesn't really matter. But for substantial stuff their record earns them their nickname, the Daily Fail. They aren't taken seriously in the UK. Like the National Enquirer in the states but with more stories about bikinis and see through dresses...they have by far the highest number of actions taken against them for writing stories that are proven totally false, like 5 times more than the next worse one.

Do you have a link to the source that says he knows screwed up, or is that just your personal opinion?

Oh sorry...you're probably right. He doesn't think he screwed up.

From CrimeOnline, Teen does not want to return to her home with father.
http://www.crimeonline.com/2017/05/...ly-says-shes-in-love-with-tad-cummins-report/

This is the Nancy Grace site that the writer of the article is merely rehashing and citing the Daily Mail and other articles to get clicks. :moo: :cow: I didn't see anything that was sourced by them...

I think the Tennessean and others have done good work. With a case, I like to identify early who are original investigative reporters, and then I can glean quickly who on the google searches are just "pick up artists"

"A new report in the Daily Mail citing unknown, anonymous sources claims that Elizabeth Thomas has said she is “in love” with Tad Cummins, and views the five weeks she was on the run with the fugitive as a “big, fun road trip,” as one of the anonymous sources put it."

"According to WKRN, Cummins appeared in court in Tennessee on Monday for a brief hearing during which he acknowledged the charges against him: transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of criminal sexual intercourse. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday."

Were there video or pictures of this? If so can you link?

There was also a video tweet of the three of them walking out of the courthouse, and another photo tweet by another journalist of the three outside with atty. Of course, since a federal case, we cannot see photos INSIDE the courtroom, but inferred as she was not seen entering

:cow: :moo:

ETA: I just noticed that the sister's phone appears to be at an angle not for reading, but perhaps for taking a video or photo of in front of her.

IMHO

Again, please consider the source, and believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. As I posted yesterday, do you think a road trip that ends with a person being cold, hungry, and dirty is a "big, fun, road trip"? Did you hear Griffin Barry's description of her at the end? He said she wouldn't look at him or converse with him. Add "controlled" to the list. Nobody that we are now aware of saw them between OK and CA, so until we hear from MCET herself, I am personally not going to believe that she thought this was a "big, fun, road trip". Now, there may have been parts of the trip that she enjoyed, and I'm sure she thought she was "in love" with TC. But this tripe does not jive with the few real facts that we have. As for her "refusing to go home to her dad's house" pffffft. Come on, people. She is 15, 16 next week and receiving care in a mental health facility. She doesn't get to decide where she goes. When she is released, she will go where CPS decides is a safe environment for her. We have no information that would indicate that she has completed her treatment at the facility.

Agree with you, we don't know. For someone who was trying to take control of her life, it is so upsettting that she may feel she has no control. I believe that you aren't speaking to me directly, but a general "you" above.

That said, when I read Daily Mail and their anonymous sources, I try to look at it with a critical mind. Could it be posts from MSM chat rooms and facebook posts which say such, or from secondary folks that work with children and think that in this situation she is in love with him, or perhaps someone that posted on the film we have been talking about with a comment (the movie Trust, which is on you tube).

It's all about considering and weighing and evaluating to glean what is behind the actual source knowing that certain websites are merely inflammatory headlines and statements within - but I acknowledge that those that just view this on MSM and don't discuss here would even consider.

ETA: I'm still :fence: that perhaps she doesn't consider herself a victim - and much of what we see, if I were that age and of that ilk, would perhaps be very much be emotionally charged to see what others are saying I should feel. (referencing the movie Trust again)

Oy.

ET doesn't want to move back in with her father whom she blames for splitting up her and Cummins. She would instead prefer to live with the mother of one of her closest friends and someone she regards as a 'second mom'.

She insists she is a 'fully grown woman' who should be entitled to date 50-year-old Tad Cummins.

ET told friends she had the 'time of her life' during their five weeks on the run.

There is no timetable for her release with friends saying the 'messed up' teen will receive expert care 'for as long as it takes' for her to realize she was the victim of a predatory older male.

Yeah, it's not good. TC played MCET as well as JC.

At the hearing Tuesday:

As Cummins came into the courtroom, he looked at his two daughters and sister and mouthed the words, "I love you," to them.

He gave soft, contrite responses to Magistrate Barbara Holmes.

Holmes asked Cummins whether he understood the charge. "Yes, ma'am," he said.

He told Holmes he could not afford a lawyer.

Cummins' sister, Daphne Quinn, was in the second row and appeared to be taking notes.

Cummins will make another appearance Friday before a magistrate.

Cummins sister and daughters were in the courtroom. They didn't want to comment, but did say they were supporting him.

ET, who is currently in a trauma treatment facility, is claiming she doesn’t want to return to her family in Columbia, Tennessee, because she is “in love” with Cummins.

An anonymous source told the Daily Mail ET insists she’s a “fully grown woman” and told friends their five weeks missing on “big, fun road trip” was “the time of her life”.

She believes she should be entitled to date 50-year-old Cummins.

Friends say the “messed up” teen believes she and her 50-year-old captor did nothing wrong.

Sources told the Daily Mail, ET wants to live with a friend’s mother Paige Griffith, a woman who she reportedly sees as her “second mum.”

Rachel Irby, who traveled from Cummins' hometown of Columbia, has plenty to say.

"When I saw him raise his hand to take an oath, I had a hard time swallowing that knowing everything is done,” Irby said.

Irby said she met the Cummin's victim last year at a sex trafficking awareness program.

"The longer this trial goes the harder it's going to be for her to overcome everything that's happening," Irby said. "I'm just supportive of her trauma team and the people around her trying to make sure she's recovering in the best way possible."

Irby believes 50-year-old can now help his young victim and the community.

“If he really says that he cares in any way or is repentant and any way, he should just go ahead make this quick and easy so everybody can move on and heal," Irby said. "Plead guilty and go ahead and go through with sentencing."

From 3/29....

"Rachel Irby has been fighting with others to keep Elizabeth Thomas' face in the public eye. In between meetings with the Thomas family and attorneys, she agreed to meet with us in her screen printing shop this week."

She never stated before that she had met her at a sex trafficking awareness program.

She has a facebook page .. google unchained movement, and on that facebook page I found she was interviewed for another story on this case on April 5th at http://wkrn.com/2017/04/05/what-is-grooming-and-what-are-the-signs/

LOVE? My guessing on if mcet is in love with him.
Probably. She however doesn't know he called his wife with all that sorry business. He's definitely a 'sorry' guy.
SELLING THE HOUSE? My guess on getting rid of the house.
Some of my divorced friends did keep a house. It depends on your finances, or if you have someone who can help maintain it for you (like an adult son). Houses can, obviously, be expensive to maintain, taxes, etc. They have one income. Could end up with law suits. Since they have had financial troubles in the past (bankruptcy and they took out that $4500 loan that tc ran off with), I'm thinking it's finances.
BTW, tc had it made!
I bet he realizes it now that he ran out of cialis. He had a doting family, long marriage, gkids, church family, and a nicely maintained house. Many would love to have these things!!!
Foolishness abounded... and probably in the back of his mind he figured if things didn't go well, JC would just take him back. It's her choice. Many women do. I'd rather be lonely, than used.

Ms. Irby has been in the news more than above...

Tennessee AMBER Alert case closed; advocates emphasize sensitivity

http://whnt.com/2017/04/23/tennessee-amber-alert-case-closed-advocates-emphasize-sensitivity/

From 4/23

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Rachel Irby is the founder of "The Unchained Movement, an organization dedicating to helping sex trafficking victims.

Irby said while news organizations play a huge role in helping law enforcement track down missing teenagers and their kidnappers, once they are safe they should be kept out of the public eye.

"If this was your child and something horrible like this happened, would you want everybody in the country to know every little detail and maybe even some details that might be fabricated?" she said....................

Irby told us that it is time for those who have followed the Tad Cummins case to be reminded of reality.

"What are you trying to learn that you don't already know? And is it for your own benefit? Or is it for the benefit of the victim? We have intentions of doing certain things and we want to know more and more information but it's really for our own selfish reasons." Irby said."

oh, the irony Ms. Irby... that you are talking to the media and keeping it in the public eye

Do you have a link to the source that says he knows screwed up, or is that just your personal opinion?

This is probably the closest right now he has admitted to anything. The Tennessean on April 27, 2017 reported Jill talked to Tad in the jail house. He told her "he loves her and he is sorry".

Since these calls are recorded this could be used against him.

Also, I hope some one shows Elizabeth the article or she can hear the jail house tape where he tells his wife he loves her...the wife, not that he loves Elizabeth and that he is sorry. He is trying to go with which person can help him out of this mess he made...and it is not Elizabeth.

I am on iPad and cannot link.

Regarding the Daily Fail story about various alleged unnamed sources commenting on ET's state of mind:

I can believe that she does not yet realize how she was groomed, used, abused by this... thing (I refuse to call him a man, & the word I want to use would get me a timeout).

There was a similar case in the U.K.* where it took several years for the (then) 15 year old victim to come to terms with/realize the fact that she had been groomed & that it was NOT a relationship. & she was found after 8 days.

*Google Jeremy Forrest/MS.

If her home is paid off than why sell? Just have a judge take Tads name off the deed and Title and let him enjoy lockup.

Need a lawyer here....but since they both own the home he should get half of any monies free and clear of the mortgage. So he should have some monies to pay for a lawyer. Maybe he already signed over the house to his soon to be ex wife as part of the divorce settlement so it would show he has no money. She started the divorce before he had a court date and said he was broke.

A legal situation about the money....does not look like they had savings
