And one by one these abusers will all be held accountable to some degree. I hope they all get the maximum possible punishment allowed.

I always had a hard time believing a loving mother would not notice or pick up on any signs after all the years this abuse went on at adopted 'dad's' hands. Lock her up and throw away the key.

Hoping SLP and all the P children are in a healthy, loving environment and can have a shot at as normal a life as possible.

Remember one of the odd things about this case when SLP disappeared was that the parents said her bedsheets were missing.

Certainly the mother was aware what was happening, over the years.
Probably allowed this, to 'keep her man'.
YUK.
Hope this couple, have maximum time in prison, for their evil deeds.
SLP, time and time again from a young age, would have been distressed, talking to the mother.
MOO.

What has always terrified me about this case is the chance that SLP and her younger siblings could be forced to go and live with the egg donor again.
Hopefully now that won't happen.

People seldom change, and the ED could very well pick up with another loser. Exposing her children to more abuse, or worse.

Whatever she gets won't be enough. It's just a slap on the wrist.

What SLP has had to endure is horrendous. The mother, (who, in my opinion is no mother), should rot in jail just like her perverted and evil husband. I cannot get over how this "mother", did not help her daughter.

The broken trust, lack of protection, and everything else that goes along with these two, enrages me.

Thank Goodness SLP managed to get away. I know it didn't work out the way she thought. but thankfully she is out from under now. I wish her healing, happiness and health.

Do you think 'mom' can regain custody in the future though? How serious is that charge?
If she is found guilty and sentenced to at least 5 years, then SLP and her sister would be old enough to be on their own. Are people like her ever identified and monitored like on a sex offenders list when they get out of prison? It seems like the two younger ones should be protected from her really poor choices in their futures.

Tennessee Evidence Fabrication - Knoxville Evidence Tampering Attorney
This is a good explanation of the charges and the penalty.

Tampering with or fabricating evidence is a Class C felony. If charged, you are facing between three and fifteen years in jail. In addition, the jury may assess a fine not to exceed $10,000. Penalties may also include supervised release and/or probation.

That's what I am afraid of. If this is Mom's 1st offence of any kind, she could end up with just probation. And if so, she might end up having custody of all the kids. I hope not. She failed those girls, totally.

The publicity surrounding this case, the details from SLPs letter, plus the tampering charge will hopefully lead to some jail time and loss of parental rights to all 4 children. She will be financially ruined, a social pariah, unable to support herself and live under a rock. I’d be ok with that.

I hope that someone is paying special attention to the boy. I hope that it won't be assumed that since he isn't a girl and subjected to what his sister went through, that he hasn't been profoundly affected by this mess. I hope that someone is working with him so that he doesn't grow up like his father. That is all he has known so far and I hope someone with kindness and compassion can help him learn a different way so the cycle can be broken.

I would have to look back but isn't there SP and her younger sister and then two half brothers? I agree, we do not know what happened to each but we do know this was not a household that all were not affected. Just the killing of the dog alone says that...

There are four children. SP and her sister and then a younger boy then another girl who are half siblings.

@gitana1 - what might the penalty be for this? I’m guessing not much.

Three to fifteen years. It's a class C felony.

2010 Tennessee Code :: Title 39 - Criminal Offenses :: Chapter 16 - Offenses Against Administration of Government :: :: Part 5 - Interference with Government Operations :: :: 39-16-503 - Tampering with or fabricating evidence.

Tennessee Code Title 40. Criminal Procedure § 40-35-111 | FindLaw

They may have charged her in part so she will play ball with prosecutors and give evidence against her husband. If she cooperates she could get far less than if she doesn't.

I don't believe there's any way she's getting SLP back. And unlikely to get the other kids back either if it's shown she knew.

Thank you. Too many cases in the head I guess. I thought the younger two were both boys. I know SP and the next eldest down from her are both girls/her full sister.
