I am a bit confused about some details, would someone help to clear it for me?

Peaches torso was found June 28, 1997. Toddler was found April 04, 2011.

From 2011 post on WS - red is highlighted by me

That was not describing of the Peaches at that time, was it? Those adult remains with jewellery, when were they found? Did anyone seen any articles about it?

Year 1996 is mentioned often too, even on http://www.aetv.com/shows/the-killing-season/season-1/episode-2/bonus-peaches is mentioned that Peaches was found in 1996, yet we all know it was 1997. So, does that mean adult remains with jewellery, were parts of Peaches and discovered already in 1996?

I'll give it a shot.

Peaches' torso was found in Hempstead Park on June 28, 1997. On April 11, 2011 partial remains were discovered in a plastic bag at Jones Beach. LE named these remains Jane Doe #3. These remains are the ones that LE determined were related to the toddler's body. Recent dna testing shows that the remains of Jane Doe #3 and Peaches belong to the same person.

Does that clear things up a little?

Has anyone else re-looked into this?

By researching, there is no design patent on xoxoxo jewelry. I had the misbelief it was a signature design, but many designers and companies make these bracelets. If I missed it, did the police identify and let the public know the brand of the jewelry, instead of simply inexpensive jewelry, (I swear this LE group is extremely stingy with information). It will have a mark. This could be importance.

XOXO company start was 1991.

The type of bracelet is: Gold I LOVE YOU and "XOXO" Stampato Bracelet

One thing is for sure is this mother was very involved with her baby and loved her baby with the symbol of mom and daughter jewelry.

I don't think XOXO is an identifier on its own. It's more like a generic name of the fashion. What is more important is the exact pattern. Though it would still be futile considering these are just gold plated junk.

Still a pro in the business could tell when exactly this model was introduced. That would mean a lot for me.. Because until today I was thinking XOXO pattern was introduced in somewhere in 2000s... Thanks deedee..

And here; you can imagine some rant by me about the corruption of police and "the system" in general..

Even the cheapest of jewelry has an identifying marker, and it looks like this is another piece of info LE is not releasing. It would be nice to know who made it, to identify where it was distributed to and sold.

Here's the news report. I hadn't seen it before the radio show, and nearly fell out of my chair when Rachel and Josh announced it on air.

Unidentified Murder Victim Dubbed ‘Peaches’ Linked to Gilgo Beach Killings
By Timothy Bolger - Long Island Press
December 13, 2016

[....]

Investigators revealed the link between Peaches and Baby Doe in a recently updated case file listed in NamUs, a federal database used to help identify Jane and John Does nationwide. The case file was updated following inquiries from Josh Zeman and Rachel Mills, filmmakers who produced The Killing Season, a docu-series about LISK and similar cases that recently aired on A&E. The duo, who produced a bonus video about Peaches in which they interviewed her tattoo artist, said they hope the new info will help both investigators and the Websleuths community crack the case.

“I think in so many ways this changes the case quite considerably,” said Zeman, who provided emails showing that he asked the Nassau medical examiners office to update NamUs with more information on Jane Doe No. 3 daheys before the case file was clarified. “While it provides some clarity, it also deepens the mystery of the Long Island Serial Killer case.”

I was watching the local news segment of the today show this morning 12/15/16 and it was announced that they have linked the torso found at Hempstead State Park with one of the Giglo Beach bodies.

As I'm reading this thread it appears that it's Peaches Doe.

It was also announced that one of the victim's attorney has found a witness and will be making the announcement with new information. Hopefully it will be something substantial that will benefit the public in finding the killer.....

There is the unverifiable rumor of an African-American sex worker who allegedly escaped from Oak Beach in the dead of night sometime before 2010, and ran semi-naked along the parkway, screaming, "They're trying to kill me" in the same manner that Shannan Gilbert did on the morning she vanished.

So are we talking 2010 that Peaches disappeared? I'm still confused. There is so much information that is contradictory in this case. How does LE ever think the public can help if the information contradicts itself.

Like someone said up thread, are we looking at the 1990's for Peaches or 2000's? I'm not sure where to look and was initially looking in the 90's, but should we be looking all the way up to 2010?

Can we start sub-threads for potential matches? People can take one person and research, like what was done in the Sand Canyon John Doe case?

I didn't know that either... thanks..

I sent this information to SCPD, before I made it public anywhere . must be like 2 years ago perhaps even longer before.

add more rant by me about the corruption in the police and the system...

I am seriously frustrated by the lack of dedication and the abundance of incompetence.. I wrote possibly 50 posts presenting in detail the specific failures in this case.. So did LL6... And of course hawkshaw... he never gave up...

Hope someday the efforts will all pay off.

Peaches (who is also Jane Doe 3) was definitely deceased by 1997. As to when, or even if, she was reported missing...that's a different matter entirely. I've worked many cases where loved ones are never reported missing, and it takes a news story like this to jog someone's memory, or to prompt them to come forward.

this is a poorly written story.. Shannan's father was African American.. That's what the author refers to. Not talking about Peaches.

Thank you Emre E and Mountain Kat, that does clear it up.

So, just for recap

28 June 1997 - torso of Peaches found with pillow case and towel https://www.identifyus.org/en/cases/11652
4 April 2011 - remains of toddler found with jewellery https://identifyus.org/en/cases/9704
11 April 2011 - remains/ extremities (-end of limbs?) of adult found with jewellery - now linked to Peaches torso from 1997

Not sure yet how 1996 is linked to Peaches, maybe it was just typo on the show?

Wow......not really sure how to respond.

Anyone new to the case would find it extremely confusing...

Wiki has been updated..... I think this will help, as it now has the ammendment including "Peaches"...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island_serial_killer

....never sure where the rumor about the woman running along ocean parkway came from.....never been verified ....well not to my knowledge....

I think the 1996 was the year the Tattoo artist claims to have done her Tattoo.....

What you may be referring to is the legs that washed up on Fire Island in 1996. Those were later matched to Jane Doe 9098 (also known as Fire Island Jane Doe).

Welcome to WS vintagechick! Parlor had all the records, also of her, alas they have been destroyed in floods.

On another note, because of your nick and location, do you mind to have a look at this new case? http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...33-on-shoreline-of-Jamaica-Bay-tattoos-Sep-16 Would love to hear your opinion. Maybe you recognize the tattoos of the woman or where they could have been made in the area or anything that springs to your your mind.

Al Ka, thank you!

I am always reading/watching local news (especially after the lisk news) and I don't know how I missed this story. I do not recognize any of those tattoos but will be following this case now as well.

What I am referring to is 0.56 sec of the video http://www.aetv.com/shows/the-killing-season/season-1/episode-2/bonus-peaches.
I just had another look and that is clearly error/typo there mentioning that Peaches torso was found in 1996, rather then correct date of 1997. So that is cleared up as well.

and hmm, this may not be very well written article but thank you for posting it, even when taken with pinch of salt, it is very informative piece.

Could the African American woman seen running down the road be yet another victim that hasn't been found yet?
I posted not long ago that I do think SG was actually describing multiple people after her trying to kill her. I don't think she was in a drug induced delerium. I think she was truly running from multiple assailants. I think the driver was paid to keep his mouth shut. Otherwise why would he leave her like that and not immediately call for help to find her?
If there was a group doing these killings, some victims were bound to get away at least for a small amount of time before being caught again. I think SG was chased into the area she was found in. I think they were ripping her clothing off to torture her more before finally killing her. I think though by the time they finished with her, they just left her there thinking she would never be found.
I have also thought that maybe the reason some of the body parts have been located in different areas was due to multiple people disposing of the different parts.
Maybe just maybe... LISK is multiple people working together. The body dump areas possibly could be each perps own dumping ground. Sadly I think there are many more victims yet to be found. I hope this makes sense?

As for the XOXO bracelet, I personally owned one that had diamonds and my birthstone in it. It was a Valentine's Day gift from the hubby when we were just newly married and broke as a joke. Maybe I can find mine and post a picture. It may take a few days though to look for it. Just got back from doc and I'm on complete bed rest due to severe pneumonia and costochondritis. Yay me. Not. Doc said it could be months before I could breathe without pain. Much less move.
Plus now the grandbaby is also sick. Sorry O/T. Lol but as soon as I feel up to digging through my jewelry I will post a picture. But it was definitely the early 90's when I received it.
MOO of course.

If I'm not mistaken, cheap jewelry is rarely marked with makers mark or anything.

Hi, newbie here,, awaiting a news conference on Television- News12 about this case ,,first it was at 1 pm now it will be 3 pm,, Escort to reveal that she spent time with J.Burke at Gilgo beach,,,link maybe to why they won't release 911 call from Shannon,,,
also, why everything was so clean didn't the Security cameras all seem to be missing that time period,,,,someone knows what to look for ,,
Also, looking at The Peaches evidence I can remember every Pillow case ,, its not something you change that much asides from washing they seem to hold up well,,and you always get a few extra in the bed and bag,,, If they could blow that pattern up I'm sure a store would recognize that pattern OR someone slept over"" or someones family member remembers it,, Mom, sister, etc,, Remember that was a long time ago before internet buying ,,,
Just random ideas floating in my head.
