He has zero publications listed, and that's always a big part of a CV. His "licenses and certifications" are pay-as-you-go memberships to professional groups. And his CV appears to stop about a decade ago, with most of his "work" being in the 1970s-90s. No wonder he has to rely on a Time article. Google paid off for him.

I find it hilarious that he lists "FCC Licensed Broadcast Engineer and Announcer, 1961-1966 " on his CV. Completely unrelated to his field. LOL.

He has a few articles written on his website but they are basically How-To-Guides for how a defense "expert" like himself will help a defendants case. Nothing whatsoever to do with him having any knowledge or expertise in any of his fields, including FCC Licensed Broadcast Engineer. Hey, maybe they can use him in the courtroom if there's another technical problem with the microphones going out! Gotta be useful somehow....

Thank you. So is this guy a neurologist? How the heck can he be an expert as to cross sections of brains and what they show? And is he trying to say that Travis' brain shows he was abusive or something? That is truly beyond the pale. The judge just cannot let that in.

I'd also like to see the proposed exhibit list. Was the judge flustered with the defense or the state?

I don't think he is a neurologist but I did hear the defense put him up in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I agree. I also think, as has been said, she's being very careful because this is a DP case, and she doesn't want it overturned on appeal.

All in all, I'd rather have delays than a conviction overturned on appeal and have to go through all this again.

Frankly after dealing with the death penalty for over 20 years now I'm just f'ing FED UP with all this special consideration crap giving THE MOST VIOLENt and DANGEROUS of our society red carpet treatment in our legal system- so many kid gloves for these murderers. F'ing over it!!!

I can't wait for JM to question this whole PTSD bullcrap.

JM: Sir, is it possible for a fugitive, who has committed a crime and is trying to evade justice, to suffer from PTSD?

Dr: Yes, it is possible.

JM: No further questions....

Is this jury sequestered?

Tried to bold my part, but, alas no happening.

Anyway, haha........just wanted to add that I bet they did some , ahem, interesting research on human sexuality in the mid seventies. , add LSD to the mix as well Moo

When the evidence against the defendant is overwhelming, it's not about winning. It's about making sure the defendant's rights were preserved and ensuring a fair trial.

In this case it's a self defense claim. Would you rather they provide her with a crummy defense thereby ensuring a win on appeal and a new trial?

The state also has a right to a fair trial and the DT has done everything they can to see it hasnt happened. If they didnt have such a brilliant Prosecutor like Juan then no telling what would have been backdoored in.

If the state had pulled this little devious underhanded display this morning Nurmi and Wilmott would still be crying and accusing Juan of prosecutorial misconduct.

There is a victim here too that deserves a fair trial so justice can be rendered.

This doc has no right to opine if this was a instrumental homicide, reactive or planned murder. That decision belongs to the jury only. This DT has played dirty pool all through this case.

Giving in to the defense on everything is not the answer either. If the rulings are sound then the Judge will not have made an error. She is willy nilly all over the place even with her overruled and objections.

IMO

Very good point, pufnstuf -- My DH is in a research center at Duke Univ. Med. Center in Durham, and the old saying, "Publish or Perish" is still true -- down to where your name is listed in the list of authors on a pub and which pub it is. The first author's name listed and the last name listed are the coveted spots. Yes, it's quite unusual to have no publications, and unless his pubs are on a separate list, not very impressive. We'll see...

I love him sight unseen.
She, alot like Jodi, loooovvvved to hear herself speak! Though she didn't testify, she gave HOURS & HOURS during police interrogation interviews (cray-cray!) AND never met a reporter with camera she didn't love! :) Even "Lock Up" or "Jail" or something like that on msnbc...
It was SO obvious she did it, but thought she could 'charm' the jury with her epic nonverbal skills ~ Judge stopped it every time! YouTube her sometime for a hoot!

Will somebody tell the guy on Headline News that it takes some period of time to plunge a knife into a person and pull it out and continue to do that 27 + times as well as the brutal throat slicing almost decapitating the victim. Anybody can quickly move their arm up and down in rapid motion. At least HLN could have used an orange for the demonstration.

Stupid reenactment.

Hi, do not have time to catch up in depth right now and did not see this AM. Was the jury ever in the court room this morning or was all of this outside of their presence?

I was just thinking nearly the exact, same thing. We seem to have lost sight of the difference between the right to a competent defense in which the State's evidence is put to proof (or not) and "the finest, most comprehensive and exhaustive defense the taxpayers' money can buy."

Completely uncommon to have a PhD in any field and be unpublished.

Never in the courtroom.

new camera and strap was not taken out of the little plastic bag it comes in as far as I recall.

Sorry if this has been asked, but did anyone ask Jodi if the camera strap was around her neck, if there was one, did it break? if there was one. tia
