I thought Searcy said Arias called him at 3 am on 6/5 to tell him that Travis was dead and maybe ask to see him ? If Searcy was in Vegas, Arias could have easily diverted off I-15 to see him. After all, she was a little late getting to West Jordan ... I'd like to see the time on that gas receipt in Mesquite.

Gus says Jodi was hysterical, claims he called "the DA" soon after, but no one called him back. He said the phone records will show he's truthful, but surely LE checked those and determined he wasn't.

they have spies around the courthouse, for real. they're always looking for anything they can use. they watch witnesses and spectators for any sign of anything hinky going on. of course, they didn't need a spy for this---it was on TV, but still. i know they do this because i've seen it myself.

i think this case has taken so long, that some real personal animosity has grown between the DT and martinez and flores too. i don't think they'll be going out for drinks together any time soon. and i think a lot of it DOES have to do with how JM is perceived and how nurmi knows he and JW are perceived.

Yes. I agree. From seeing the Hughes on 48 hours or some such show, they loved Travis. I think it was more of a "yes, Jodi, you are right. He doesn't treat you right. You should just move on...I wouldn't even let my sister date him" I truly do not believe it was that they were AGREEING with or SUPPORTING JA in any way.

The woman saying this is the one that taped Travis (and Jodi laying up on him) telling his story about being robbed and gun against temple, which Jodi stole for her Ninja story. That's my understanding as well. So that's why I'm wondering if JM can bring them them in (or Chris back) to testify to these things. It seems to me that the DT and ALV have left the door open for that now.

Breathe people breathe. I'm there almost daily. I NEVER see Martinez approached. He zips in and out so fast and once Pam said "were waiting for you Juan" ( she's a friend of Travis) re his cross of Jodi and he put his finger to his lips and went shhhhh. I'm not sure how or why he went out front that ONE TIME and a small handful of people were there, who asked for a photo (I wasn't there that day) but none of us have ever seen that behavior or anything close the entire trial. It was first embellished by Mike Kiefer inaccurately suggesting this was some regular thing (wrong) then Nurmi ran w it in a desperate ploy to disarm him and publicly humiliate him (didnt work).

He certainly could have opportunities every day to "mug for the cameras" but he did that one time, one day, last week, not to be repeated even before Nurmi wasted everyone's time on this.

It was not, at worst, grounds for mistrial. Nurmi himself said he wasn't Arguing jurors were present. Worst case scenario a juror saw that, was interviewed and indicated seeing the prosecutor pose for some pics one time would render them unable to be impartial and they'd be the first of 6 alternates released. And we know nothing of the sort happened.

Opened and closing with breathe.....this was a NON issue, a one time occurrence, not even close to some pattern of JM and nothing more than a failed stunt. Anyone remember Geragos and that boat????

I respectfully disagree.

I would agree if he was still saying to JA that they "really are together" and to not worry about things, but THEY HAD BROKEN UP!!! Now, way back in my younger days if a guy & I were broken up - but started doing the deed again - unless he completely stopped talking to other girls and made it CLEAR that he wanted to be exclusive again, it would have only been about the hookup. And being an ADULT I'd either bow out gracefully if I didn't want to be used, or have some fun while it lasted.

Jodi was an adult, not some 16yr old naive girl. They were NOT a couple, and therefore he was simply being honest - he was dating other girls while sleeping with Jodi. Jodi just couldn't handle the fact that THIS guy wasn't under her spell so completely. Another reason why I think she killed him.....he would have moved on and utterly forgotten about her.

The bolded is what drives me batty about some women. When a man actually verbalizes to you that he has no intentions of being in a long term relationship with you, and you STILL keep sleeping with him in hopes that he changes his mind, that's on you. If you make him think that you are OK with "friends with benefits" how is that his fault? Is he a mind reader now? I agree that when one "uses" the other, they string them along and make them feel as if they have a chance to be a real couple one day. "Just give me time, baby, you know I am not ready to settle down just yet, but... blah blah blah." They make them feel as if they mean the most to them and that at some point, there will be a future. "Using" someone is not "I don't want to be in a relationship with you, but we can still, you know..."

It really, REALLY, bothers me that from the start Jodi claims to have had problems with what Travis was doing. According to the testimony we are hearing, there was really no point that he ever treated her well. That doesn't make the most sense to me. Most women who are turned off by a guy early on just stop talking to him. At that point there is no real emotional attachment because you don't know each other all that well. If I am to believe that Travis made her this uncomfortable, that early on in their relationship, then I have to consider why else she would leave a guy that she was dating to be with him after only knowing him for a week. ALV painted Travis as this successful and powerful man and made it seem like it was too strong of a lure for Jodi to resist. To me, she just sounds like a golddigger.

Does that mean these emails have been entered into evidence?

If they have not - which I am assuming they have not been - is there anyone who can answer WHY NOT? I mean, if the author has testified and the DV expert can discuss them, how are they NOT evidence?

The whole "Travis was abusive to other women and Jodi should stay away" thing. It was the soundbite they played today.

I just don't get that a guy having sex with a girl who was clearly willing (no matter what the defense says) is abusive - physically or emotionally! If you are having sex with a guy to try to hold onto him, that's on YOU not him! I've been there, and I blame no one but myself. And it certainly didn't turn me into a murderous monster!

Abusive means different things to different people. We have essentially abused the word abusive because when someone uses it to describe someone today our minds usually go straight to very negative or even violence. That is not the case. Some people believe just making a remark behind the woman's back in a negative manner is abusive. Travis could have joked about Jodi because his friends may have made comments about him still seeing her, or her showing up at the house unannounced. There was a trip she invited herself to where there were all men and his friends were making comments. The Hughes could have been referring to that. If the Hughes thought that Travis were any more abusive than that they never would have let him stay in their home. They appear to be normal people to me and that is what would happen in any normal household. If it were anything worse Travis would have been delegated down to associate and they would have never had a personal relationship with him.

It appears Travis' big mistake was not locking his doors and answering her calls and text messages. Jodi views this as "mixed signals". What??? Yes, this is how Jodi see it. jmo

One of Travis's friends said she dressed very provocative and stood out because most Morman woman dress very conservatively. Her life changed after she got her *advertiser censored* and blonde hair. (Don't know how long she was bleach blonde) She loved the attention she was getting from men.

I had a friend who went from no-*advertiser censored* to big *advertiser censored* and they became very popular with men.

Jodi replies, you found my left palm print? (I don't think Flores caught it.)

BBM ~ This is what really frosts me....Jodi was going on 28 years old. If she was old enough to partake in multiple relationships AND had years of sexual experiences then she doesn't have a leg to stand on and play the virginal, naive 16 yr. old. You can't have it both ways. :furious:

We had a weird guy follow us the other day and attach himself to our group and went to lunch w us and was taking photos. I was extremely uncomfortable with it. Katie was texting me across the table saying he gave her the creeps...I ignored him completely, never even introduced myself. We all were careful about everything we said which i later told the gals that was the first and last time im going thru that! We made a hard and fast rule...no more new people at this stage hanging out w us after court. And I had to enforce it yesterday telling 3 women they couldn't join our group for lunch. People just sort of follow the group like they are part of it. We've circled the wagons now.

I think the motion filed by Nurmi against Juan Martinez is ridiculous and a big waste of time. I have watched high profile crimes for over two decades including death penalty cases. I have seen both Prosecutors and Defense Teams hold PCs while the trial was on going. I have seen expert witnesses lined up with DTs on the courthouse steps to be interviewed during a trial. I have seen them walk in and out and stopping to speak to court watchers who wanted their attention.

NOT ONCE have I ever seen a case overturned because of it or a mistrial declared. Not once!:banghead::furious:

Juan Martinez works for the taxpayers. He did not discuss the case. All this childish complaining about prosecutorial misconduct is done because this DT is so desperate to get Juan off this case. They should know by now it isn't going to happen and he is going to get justice for Travis' murder whether they like it or not.

Its almost funny to think back of all the days in this trial. It has been quite a zoo of a trial. I would have never thought in a million years we would have seen some of the pictures we have seen OR heard Jodi describe in vivid detail what she has said.

Definitely been a zoo of a trial. And its not over yet. What could be next in store for us? LMAO

Periodically I wonder how Shanna Hogan is going to fit it all into a regular length book. It's up to at least 2 volumes' worth and we haven't even finished with the defense yet.

I think that woman said Jodi showed up at Sky's and asked point blank, "Why do you hate me?" I imagine there was at least a short discussion which didn't go well prior to Sky's "leave and never come back" order. Undeterred by Sky's edict, Jodi cornered the macaroni-making other mom in the kitchen. What in the world did she hope to get from that stranger? Just mindboggling to me.

That's why it's so ridiculous. If he had no proof that any juror saw something, then it's overblown drama like so many other things in this trial.

Like I said in another thread, I would think that if this was a problem, then there should have been prior arrangements for jurors to be escorted off the premises with earplugs in and blindfolds on. At some point, the drama has to stop and the process needs to move forward.
