I think JM stays 4-5 steps ahead at all times. His style bugged me when JA was on the stand, because it would seem he was building up to something and then just abandon it. I saw the light, though after the jury questions. He was planting seeds the entire time. Knowing that the jury would be asking questions with far less impunity than if he had asked them himself. It was really a very elegant move. When JA lied she was lying to THEM.

He has been aggressive with every defense witness but I believe it especially true with ALV. Almost like he wants the jury to see her label him an abuser. Just to prove how casually she throws that word around.

Of course that is just a theory but if I'm right I'd love to hear this ...

"Should the prosecutor be worried that you are going to shoot and stab him to death and slit his throat, and would be justified in doing so, because you feel abused?" Is that what you are saying? Yes or No Ma'am.

How can she walk when she's admitted to overkill and given no credible reason for it? Travis was wet, naked and unarmed .. She had both a gun and a knife and no time to retrieve them from somewhere else during her fictional attack. There were genuine holes in the Casey trial, but not in this one. The idea that a juror would hang the jury to become 'famous' would have credibility if that had happened in the past but there are no famous Casey jurors or any who have written books .. The ones that said anything just said COD wasn't proven (which was true) or said they were suspicious of George .. I also cant see a juror hanging the jury because they 'dislike' Juan .. And even then that's a mistrial. Jodi walk? I don't think so.

Agree. The only walk Jodie will be taking is to a cell for life or death row. Rooting for death row here.

Can we please all do a moderator alert!

Thank you. I agree, she clearly wasn't 'briefed' properly by the defence, she has been used.

"Used" is exactly the word I was searching for! I wonder if we got her alone at El Torito over a nice margarita she wouldn't just say "what the heck just happened to me..."

Are you referring to Daryl Brewer as DB? I had no idea he was even in AZ. That is really bizarre if he is still hanging around the courthouse.

I think it refers to that Donovan person.

Well, JM got a lot of useful information in yesterday. The fact that JA told LAV that she wanted gas cans because she was going to MESA was a big aha! for me! I know DarylB tried to back-track on that with JM but now we have TWO instances where she most likely did state she had planned to go to MESA!

In the past few days I've noticed JA's demeanor is even more pose-y than usual. She whispers to her atty with her chin jutting out, swinging her hair around, posing for the camera with her face just so. She is positively eating up every minute of this! JA playing herself in her own movie that is masquerading as a silly murder trial! Also, did you see her grin when Juan brought up the manifesto? We silly commoners amuse her. She is a genius, you know.

Oh I also thought it was great when ALV slipped up and called "the killing" a murder. Oh snap!

I don't think we will ever know the real truth about males who are victimized by dangerous females. They are the least likely to report anyway so the stats will always be skewed imo.

I think it goes on a hellavu lot more than some like to think. Its just better to say that most abuse is done by a man.

I think this case will bring much needed awareness and support for male abuse victims which is very much needed.

Many abuses are done to males even in their childhood and many times it can be at the hands of their mothers or other female family members. The stats, iirc say 1-4 females are abused and 1-6 males are abused. That is way too much abuse for either gender imo.

Women have a more favorable outcome in their trials than men do for same like crimes. On average a man may spend a minimum of 17 years in prison for murder and for the same like crime a female will only serve 8-10 years.

There is a great disparity and double standards in our country about many things. Abuse done to males by stalker/female abusers are one imo and unequal punishments for same like crimes is another.

So I'm not ready to believe that most men are the bad ones and females are good as ALV has promoted for over 34 years with a very biased viewpoint.

And then we wonder why men don't come forward and report female abusers.:banghead: They don't because society on a whole diminishes its seriousness and severity if they are the victims.
You already know I absolutely agree but as usual you said it much better! ;)

Most of the abuse I personally experienced wouldn't have resulted in even the arrest of my abuser, so I think relying on research of abusers convicted of domestic violence as a model to extrapolate possible numbers and genders of victims leaves open the potential for wide, gaping holes.

In this context (oops I sound like ALV) DB is JA's friend who's in the courtroom all the time.

One thing that bothers me a lot about AV is that atleast 3 times during the cross examination she did not have her reading glasses on the stand, and she had to slowly walk to her purse to go get them. This shows she is playing games, wasting time $, and ill prepared. Maybe today will be the day she brings them with her to the stand and can see this case with clarity. - and speak the truth for once.

I was trying, I REALLY was trying to keep an open mind about ALV. Then today I was able to watch the live court proceedings and Juan is very good. ALV is VERY CLEARLY coming across as someone with a bias towards men and someone who quickly jumps to the conclusion that the woman is the victim.

If I was a juror this would be working on me because I truly came into this with an open mind. I hadn't even heard of this trial until a few weeks ago.

The more she stumbles and stalls over absolutely every single thing Juan says, the less I believe what she's saying and she's not even the one on trial here.

Sadly, even though she does not think she has a bias, as most of us can't see that about ourselves when we're in the eye of the storm, she really clearly does have a bias.

Like many police officers after 20 or 30 years that work certain division where all they see day in and day out is one kind of criminal. Or Doctors that work the Medi-cal Clinics...If you are exposing yourself to one kind of situation long enough, through no fault of your own many time, it will shape your ability to be open minded eventually.

Exactly the kind of Expert they wanted

I didn't get to watch all the testimony yesterday...bits and pieces that I have yet to catch up on..tomorrow I hope.

What I find funny is everything ALV has testified too, or has said is the truth, it turns out she read something wrong, she wasn't told or she misspoke. I did hear yesterday that her conversation with JM was in Nov 2012. Its not like it was so long ago that she couldn't get her facts straight before today.

Its very very odd.

JM left off yesterday with JA as the jealous, controlling stalker.

TA had documented to Reagan Housley that he was in extreme fear of JA.

ALV says that fear is a vital element of stalking.

This should lead directly into crime scene/autopsy photos which JM will show to ALV.

He will ask if she's seen those photos.

Then he will ask whether this demonstrates that TA's fear of JA was well-founded, as proven by her heinous slaughter/butcher of TA mere weeks later.

BBM - she called it a "homicide". That's a generic term in the dictionary, but the average person on the street probably thinks it means murder.

I think JW will come first, then questions then JW and JM again...it will never end.

I didn't get to watch anything live yesterday. I had to pick up grandd and go to grands's play yesterday. I tried listening in the car (Thank goodness for Satelite radio) and well, little pitchers have big ears and definitely not appropriate conversation with a 5 yo in the back seat! Anyway, did I hear correctly that afternoon was delayed so ALV could go over the police interrogations of the father? Or was it both? And why now?...still trying to catch up on the threads so hopefully someone has a quick answer!

K

Yes, ALV did listen to the tapes and what she came back to the stand was that Jodi's father was abusive so that was a reason to lie to Flores. :what:

Did anyone notice that at one point yesterday ALV mentioned "unusual aberrant behavior"? Could someone define "usual aberrant behavior" for me? It reminded me of the earlier instance of "illegal crimes" or whatever that was.

Oh yes. And you know what else is obvious? JM never loses control. He plays out his frustrations for the jury when there is a need for them to see that. He get tough with witnesses when there is a need. He is never out of control. If he was then he would have yelled at ALV when she mentioned the time-out. He didn't give it back to her. Just asked the Judge to admonish ALV. He is such a genius. People think his frustrations get the better of him. Never. It's all part of his brilliant strategy. He knows what to do and when to do it.

She said that? Was itt the morning or afternnoon session?

I believe the reference is to Donavan Bering, not Darryl Brewer.

It occurred to me last night when I was watching the Youtube videos that ALV is defensive presumably because she thinks that Martinez is out to destroy her professional reputation, when he is in fact giving her an opportunity to salvage it.

The sooner she realizes this, the better.
