I'm enjoying his CE. OP is constantly trying to predict just where Nel is going with his line of questioning and is therefore trying to cater his answers to what he thinks Nel's ultimate aim is rather than just answering the question. OP is deliberately avoiding saying certain key words and his method of trying to reword that he killed her by saying it was an "accident", a "mistake", a "tragedy" speak volumes that he can't and won't take responsibility.

He's doing better today compared to yesterday ...so far.

But for real - Nel picking this one message apart as if the case rises and falls on this point..I just think it's a waste of time and doesn't help the state's case.

yeah nel is very frustrating .. how about asking more questions about the actual case, the evidence and his testimony with regards to the case ? .. having some arguments with her or getting jealous =/= killing her intentionally .. he's just badgering and tormenting op .. get on with the case would ya

Huge respect for the Steenkamps and their restraint and dignity in court but I do wish they would leave the press interviews til after the case finishes.

She's not 'protecting' him .. Judges step in all the time in court cases, they are totally unbiased .. I'm sure you are aware of that.

I think she comes across as protective of him at times.

He's not picking one message apart though. He's going to pick a few messages apart and if it's designed to make OP admit the relationship wasn't as rosey as he's making out or a back door way of the PT being able to introduce other evidence then it's surely the prosecution doing their job?

For my own curiosity, are you viewing this trial from the judge's point of view, an attorney's point of view or a lay person's point of view?
