Oscar doesn't like or trust the police but yet Dixon is an ex-policeman, i can see his point actually.

And just typing up his findings would have had more weight. It seems strange the DT did not insist on Dixon to type up some summaries of some key points.

Or it was a clever manoeuvre to avoid possible Contempt Of Court charges for manipulating evidence, and for providing grossly misleading testimony in an attempt to deceive the court. Purposely not having a report, enables the defense to "duck and dive" (if I may borrow a phrase from Mr. Roux) behind the curtain of ignorance --- "we had no idea what he was going to say on stand" .

It's OP's way of explaining his lack of balance on his stumps.

That is interesting to consider. After ST testified to OP being able to walk about, but needing some support, I had the impression that he could and did freely walk around his bedroom w/o his legs as an equal option to walking with his legs. And to bolster that OP threw in the episode of him walking to the bathroom on his stumps and brushing his teeth. But his legs are uneven and one if them doesn't have the cushioning / protection of a heel tissue graft; so it seems more likely in my thinking that he always uses his prosthesis when walking anywhere, even to the bathroom. I cannot believe he spent approximately 15-17 minutes standing and moving on his stumps that night, much of that time on the hard bathroom tile. But I guess we will have to wait for his book to be released to learn the truth!

Hey good people
Immediate thoughts after the end of that mind-altering witness testimony:

Rog was on much firmer ground at the end there. i.e. balancing gingerly on Oscar's spare prosthetic leg on a marshmallow tightrope. Over an active volcano.

Again.. Nel ends with a whimper. Where is this killer instinct? I thought the skill of a prosecutor was to make things stick, to get the timing right. To have the focus and impact right the way until the end, to drive home the advantage. To sense weakness and not let up and to leave the court with key thoughts embedded and the last persuasive word...

Oh yeah, he only has to persuade the judge, not a jury. Maybe it's fine then and I'm asking for too much.

I'm starting to get a little frustrated with Masipa's submissive approach. She needs to grow some.

Against all the odds, Rog rescued himself and managed to retain a minuscule shred of dignity. In the final judgement, he ended up accepting a lesser charge of professional suicide, worldwide ridicule, utter humiliation and abject misery. but just imagine how much worse it could have been...

Nothing from the defence side stuck. I don't believe that anything has stuck, yet.
They have an awful lot of work to do and need to create some compelling evidence to dispute the state's case or OP is in big trouble. IMO.

Anyway, thats me over and out for a while as I'm exhausted and need a long rest. I still have broken bones in my head and am hallucinating due to a chronic lack of sleep and too many strong painkillers. True story!

Shouldn't need 18 days skiving off but maybe a couple will help restore some sanity.

Have fun and please solve the case ASAP.

Shane, please tell everyone exactly how deep this one runs!! We need to know, get in that theory thread and leave a bomb.

X

PS I still miss Trooper

Just relistened.
Thise were not the original socks on the prosthetics.

I guess they removed them because they had blood on them.

No, and Nel said he would get back to that but never did. I just find it really strange they would put a replacement on that obviously looks like the original? I guess that is just to show how unbalanced the foot is, through the hole worn in the heel?

Though it was never stated if that was actually one of OP's socks on the leg at all, or a reconstruction.

:) Just woke up,babysitting 50 million kid.Can anyone answer if we are on lunch break.
He saw a photograph of the actual socks and used his eyes as instruments to determine they were the same fibres/fibers.

I was trying to describe Mr Dixon to my partner yesterday and wondering why he was hired in the first place. My partner said "maybe they asked him if he was a sound expert" and Mr Dixon thought "yes, my theories are always sound - sound as a pound". (perhaps only the Brits will get that reference).

A question.. anyone know who the blond woman sitting below the Judge is? She's gorgeous!

Obviously not an assistant of the Judge so wonder what that role is?

Don't tell me "If I Did It". lol

I think it will become clear That with his disasterous time on the stand Oscar has damaged much of what his defence witness's will say before they have even spoken

Dixon: "When the deceased fell, the magazine rack was there." If it wasn't there when #Pistorius went in, "that's his version of events".

Doh!.

The American company's graphic artists are "reanimating" like mad as we speak!

just posted similar on the theory page. but i am interested in any comments here too.

......

reeva and oscar are in the house.

four bullets have been fired through a toilet door.

reeva has gunshot wounds to the head, hip and arm. she is dead.

......

two competing hypotheses:

1.
op version
oscar fired four times accidentally, at a closed toilet door, not meaning to shoot anyone, thinking an intruder entered the building through an open toilet window.

2.
state version
oscar murdered reeva, firing four times through a closed toilet door, after an argument.

.........

using occam's razor:

my conclusion is that oscar murdered reeva.

[then work back from there]

I'd have thought the ballistics guy would be next purely to get Dixon's testimony out of the judge's head. I thought the DT had to give the state a list of their witnesses at some point but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Have we heard from the Mr. V that seems to have been directing Dixon's actions?

Yes. Strangensess from Nel here, just as many more good Qs should have been put to OP.
Strangeness from both sides re the Pros legs. IMO

I have stated here and elsewhere that I don't believe that OP ever kicked the door. His autobio depicts how readily they shatter, and then he'd then could have had a serious fall.

Both sides could have done a force test. Could have used Newton's 3rd law to facilitate this.
Indeed I heard Dixon say "I don't know how to do a force test." That's a joke. But Nel said "that's not what I was asking."

Bottom line, neither side tested to see if prosthetics would survive a forceful kick against that heavy door. Really this is what PT should have done. Varnish on sock was tested for by DT. But varnish could have got on a sock indeed from stepping on it.

Another way IMO that the trial is a sham.
Yes it runs deep.

Does anyone know the Court customs in SA?

In movies one often sees the most private questions asked.
In this case, Nel made a point about asking OP if he dated other women who were Christians.

Was that his way of getting it on record that they were not physically intimate?

And in going thru what happened that last evening, night and early AM, and no mention of sex, does that mean we can be certain that that did not occur?

I only ask in re to the argument and the final outcome.
We specualted on this a year ago, But we've had a trial now.

Could they not yet have been physically intimate? Could Oscar have said it's Valentine's Day so let's go. And got insistent and then refused to let her leave for that hour wehen she said no?

Or has evidence been presented that they were phys. intimate?

Remember she had these long relationshps, first one was what 7 years, then next was 4.5 years.

Anyway anyone know if they ask such questions now--when they might be very relevant to the final shooting.

Roux failed miserably to prepare Dixon for Nel's questions. His grinning "ducking and diving here, m'lady" was disgraceful and unprofessional. And Roux's completely responsible for entering into evidence Dixon's intentionally misleading/skewed test results ... imo.
