Oh, I've lost my feed. But with the amount she laughs, she enjoys the court, it's her playground, her stage. She likes the attention from the court, from the examination by Nel. I see a similar self absorption as in Pistorius.

How else could she confidently keep telling countless dead victim's families that the person who is probably their worst nightmare, deserves time and again to have no prison, some hours of community service etc. and that they show remorse and will lead a worthwhile life.

The's something emotionally missing here, in my opinion.

Or she's empathising far too much with the felon...opening up whole other level of stomach turning psychology.

N:..he would have to serve two days a month community service, for having killed someone. Do you think society would be satisfied with that?

AV answers that it's just not society's interests that should be taken in to account.

N: Won't society think it's too light? Won't they begin to take law into their own hands?

I think this is the Tatane case which after a quick scan looks like the public were outraged at lack of justice for him so Nel trying to make a point
about what could happen if justice isn't served.

Grrrr. wish Nel had picked her up on that. Reeva was killed.

You're not saying every person suffering from PTSD shouldn't be sent to prison? #oscartrial Vergeer: no, prison is to keep society safe

N: Do you know anything about the white paper 2005?

AV: No.

N: It deals with prisoners with disabilities....you never asked the prison serice how they cope with ppl with disabilities..

AV: I did by phone

Nel furious that she came to ccourt having only spoken to someone in prison service who remains anonymous.

Makes no difference in the long run.
Another defence witness torn to shreds by Nel but Misapa will still side with her just watch !!!

AV:...if the court can confirm the accused would be confined to a hospital for the entire duration of his sentence, that would be another aspect...but then, why should just the accused get this special treatment...

Thats why I wonder if she is the dame therapist that used to rub his back and touch him in a weird motherly fashion, during the breaks.

AV going on about monitoring offenders now. Not sure how that answered Nel's question.

N: You said you have dealt with the seriousness of this offence. What was the seriousness?

AV: The manner in which she passed away...

(Passed away? Like Reeva had a terminal illness and was in a hospice or something???!!)

Is she trying to suggest that Reeva died peacefully, rather than terrified, in pain and screaming for her life?!? :maddening:

Has she just arrived? I couldnt see her earlier but she's there now

I think that sometimes when Barry is leaning forward, it makes it look like June isn't there because he is obscuring the view of her! I saw her in the court sitting there quite a bit earlier this morning, so I don't think she has only just come in.

she's really hung up on his personality, vulnerability and need to rebandage .... no simple answer m'lady....

Do the meds help? Because I have a bottle of Klonopin calling my name. :D
It's either that or a strawberry Rita.
Hmmm.....decisions, decisions.

I have to take always, so I'm on the safe side when OP's trial is in processing ...

So she doesn't think he's a true danger to society.

He's an absolute danger to society. Firing a gun where children are sitting nearby, speeding cars which could get other people killed, speeding in boats with alcohol where somebody else could have died, taking his gun along to a party on a boat, going to a nightclub and getting into a fight. He's a clear danger to society.

I think Nel is going on far too long with this. They're going over the same things, over and over, round and round in circles .. it all just sounds very messy now. He should've been a lot clearer, and kept it a lot tighter. I'm really quite cross with him.

rita......make mine lime thx

Nel says if he'd been found guilty of dolus eventualis, the facilities would have been the same.

He's trying to make her agree that she doesn't want him to go to prison under any circumstances.

Nel says it's 11.15.

Masipa: What does that mean?

She doesn't know this either after 6 months. She has serious issues doesn't she. TEA BREAK

N: Everytime you motivate why the accused wld have difficulty in prison, you would never think that a person like the accused should be sent to prison, because of his disability. That bothers me. Even if he had been convicted of murder, the facilities wld be the same, so you would think he shouldn't go to prison?

AV: ...I cannot elaborate on that, because he was not convicted of murder...

Tea.

This is getting surreal…they must appeal this farce. Nel is ripping her apart but I honestly don’t believe it has any impact on the judge, she seems immune to any argument. This "expert" woman is simply unbelievable. Bring back Dixon with his pork chops :-).
