I am in tears of relief as I just heard the verdict, I have been following since day one and praying for these children, Larry, Kay, Tammy & their ohana - I remember 1st learning their ties to Kauai and when I knew how close they were to me I enlisted the help of a couple friends to post flyers and spray painting bed sheets asking " Where are the children?? " Hanging them up and handing them them out all around Princeville hoping to at the very least make them feel very very uncomfortable and raise awareness for Tylee & JJ, who knows if it made a difference but I hope minds and hearts can now be at some peace as no verdict or punishment can make up for what happened here, so much love, healing and aloha to all

I believe Tylee's Aunt, Joe Ryan's sister. Kay and Larry Woodcock, Tammy's sister, who was a witness for the defense. I am not sure who else.

'Something about Samantha's testimony was particularly touching for me. She was so courageous on behalf of her sister. And, she went toe-to-toe with Prior!! (eta: Not in a mean way... in a very very good way)

Priors closing argument was weird and twisted and anything but truthful. He did his best for Chad up to that point. IMO.
I’m wondering if he shouldn’t watch his back after throwing everyone under the bus diring his closing arguments. LE by name, prosecutors, Chads own followers, ie, Gibb, Warwick. I was waiting for him to blame Tammy and run her down some more.

I wasn’t disagreeing with what you said. Him fighting so hard means any appeals will likely fail. I credit a lot of that to Judge Boyce for his outstanding work.

But I won’t give Prior one ounce of credit for his closing argument. It made me sick. He didn’t have to say the things he said to represent a serial killer.

He didn't, I agree.

But because he did, Chad can't argue on appeal that he SHOULD have. That he should have gone lower and been more brutal to other people associated with this case.

That avenue is spent. And it didn't change the jury from their course.

Tylee may well have been a difficult brattish teenager, a lot of us were. But we were allowed to grow up and mature into normal pleasant people. Tylee was never given that chance.

I don't think I've seen anything that suggests Tylee was anything other than intelligent, witty, a bit sarcastic, fiercely loving of her family, and with a low tolerance for BS. Nothing I give credit to, anyway.

She was an independent thinker with a kind heart and a bit of sass. I've seen absolutely nothing about any kind of actual bad behaviour. No partying, no skipping school or not applying herself, no run ins with authority figures. No cussing out her mum or being really rude or angry about her to others.

Lori wanted a malleable, skinny, biddable child who didn't question and didn't want anything besides what Lori wanted. She didn't want this kid with health problems and a plus size figure, who thought her mum's cultish ideas were weird, who called her out on all her phones making her look 'like a drug dealer'. And she didn't want an intelligent kid around who was a witness to murder. She wasn't a brat, but a threat. She held knowledge that could destroy Lori. And that was enough.

I think there is some evidence that Tylee exceeded expectations of responsibility and caring for others for her age.

She did have an income (until her mother stole it.) but LE evaluated her money habits to see if Lori would have had good reason to take over her finances. They found she never overdrew her account. Her spending was appropriate, budgeted, and included a large, grown up sized car loan. Charles co signed the loan, but Tylee never needed his back up.

I still believe that LVD constantly put Tylee down, manipulated her into believing she was a victim of child sexual abuse by Joe Ryan, simply because LVD liked to destroy people. So, she destroyed Joe Ryan's relationship with Tylee and Colby with her accusations.

LVD likes to create drama and strife, making herself the center, either a victim or the heroine. I don't say this lightly, but given that we KNOW LVD is an accomplished liar, I believe that she lied about Joe Ryan's abuse of Tylee. Completely alienating Tylee from Joe Ryan and his family.

I also suspect that many of Tylee's health issues were from LVD to create a persona that LVD was the "wonderful" mother of a sickly daughter.

I believe Tylee saw and knew a lot more of Charles' death than what they told LE so there was that issue also.

All the talk we have heard about Tylee hated charles is still questionable to me.
No doubt Lori encouraged it but I don't think it was really a problem.

That video of Tylee at the police station telling LE Charles was a stand up guy.
Oozes respect and admiration IMO.
Quietly going in to bat for him under the radar.

Also Charles always refers to her as his daughter. I think he provided her with stability and unconditional love. She knew it.
His death I suspect was very frightening and burdensome to her.

She made sure Tylee was a witness as completely as possible.

I cannot think why else anyone would do it. Shots were fired, you're fleeing with your kids, either because you're afraid or because you don't want them to see the body. But no, Tylee honey, run back in and grab my purse? Inside, where the body of your stepfather is laid out, where the air still reeks of gunsmoke? Where Alex is not rendering aid, not giving CPR, just mooching about until he's sure there's no hope of revival?

Sending Tylee back in just gave Lori more reasons to follow through on killing her.

Lori didn't mention it, as far as I know, in her police interview, but Tylee does. Her describing 'blocking everything out' while she runs inside for the purse is just devastating. And it's a clear sign of how much she did love and respect her mother. She didn't say 'hell no!' She was a dutiful daughter and ran back into a murder scene, even though there's no reason Lori couldn't have got her own purse.

Just the casual cruelty of sending her daughter in to where there is not just a deceased person, but a deceased person who raised her as his daughter since she was five or six years old, who has just died a violent, bloody death moments before.

Oh, go get my purse, honey. And be quick, JJ's going to be late for school.

It's so on brand for Lori, I think it's the one moment of complete, blinding truth in the whole charade. Lori doesn't mention it in what we've seen of her interview, Tylee only mentions it as an afterthought when they press her on if she went back in. And I think Tylee was so used to her mother's behaviour that she didn't realise just how shocking that admission would be to an outsider.
