Prior is going to repeat over and over again about things this detective did not do before he decided to dig Tammy Daybell up. Already heard it about 6 times at least.
It may be annoying, and no clue if the jury feels this way; but it’s certainly an attempt to highlight parts of the (lack of? as he would allege) investigation to the jury. Witness admits the importance of body worn or vehicle camera that can help adequately record an objective view of what is being seen/heard, also admits in the biggest case of his career while his department has those cameras, he did not have one for the exhumation or autopsy viewing.

Prior also got the witness to admit he didn’t read death certificate or coroner report, and got the witness to read the details of Chad’s statements being sick the night before but that he chose to not mention that in obtaining a search warrant with the Judge.

If defense is trying to weave into some lack of investigations and/or not following of departmental established procedures and protocols, then this witness is certainly helping him do that IMOO. If the jury finds it repetitive and annoying, obviously we don’t know. Unless there’s some journalists reporting on any of their reactions, if they can be noted; I’m not sure as I haven’t looked for that yet. JMOO.

I felt for this witness. Not everyone is prepared to be in the spotlight.
IMO no matter how unsmooth (is that a word) he may have sounded it should be obvious why the investigation lead to Tammy's exhumation.

I agree with you, this was not a good witness for the State. Prior was good at poking holes in his testimony and thought processes. However, once the jury gets the "big picture" I am sure they will understand he did the right thing.

I will admit I do not like Prior and am going to point out when he annoys me. I hope that does not offend you.

Pet Nate Eaton:
Prior asks if Powell is aware that Chaybell is not implicated in the murder of Charles Vallow and the attempted murder of Brandon Boudreaux. Powell says he’s aware of that. Prior asks because of these other deaths, how does that give Powell the right to dig up Tammy Daybell? Powell says it’s because of all the other information. Prior has nothing further.
Extremely dumb question IMO. I would classify it as whataboutism but I don't even think it deserves that.

Agree. I wish he slipped in that their job was to document that the grave was not tampered with them let a medical examiner do an exam- no need for body cams- wish he said that the decision to exhume was because of the totality of info- including Chad's stupid claims of being sick and the death certificate. Wish he hadn't capitulated to the term dug up and stuck with exhumed, investigated, and examined.

But he's just human and Prior is nasty. Nobody is stopping Prior, and that's not the witnesses fault.

MOO

Wixom asks witness what day Tammy died
Answers “Oct 19, 2019”

Wixom asks when he surveilled “Chad and Tammy holding hands at Hobby Lobby”
Answers “Nov 1st”

Neither the witness or the prosecutor seem to catch that he said Tammy, whom Chad was most certainly not holding hands with 12 days after she died.

Next witness is FBI tactical specialist Nicole Heideman, who testified in LVD's trial (my notes from that trial below)

25 - NICOLE HEIDEMAN: STATE WITNESS, FBI (summary 1, 2, audio Apr24)**
CD & LVD Google searches, temple visit dates (Nov 2018-Oct 2019)
