New witness co-worker Brandon Moore. RH seemed distant in the days and weeks before Cooper's death.

The aerial photo up and the defense's use of it are compelling, imo, that RH had many other places to park where his car would be less observed. He arrived late, places were taken, yet he parked where there was the maximum amount of traffic versus parking away from the only entrance, and back to the tree line.

I also am baffled what a discussion months beforehand about guitars in cars has to do with the price of beans in China.

Obviously a guitar's too precious to be left in the heat.

The discussion about leaving a guitar in a hot car is a big deal in this case. He was told not to leave a guitar in the car because it would RUIN it, warp it, peel the glue off of it, etc. He started bringing his guitar into work and NOT leaving it in the car anymore.

Right. He understood hot cars were bad. Watching a TV show with Leanna told him much more on point info about hot cars being bad for children.

So? If he had remembered Cooper was in the car he wouldn't have chosen to leave him there. And if intended to leave him there (I don't believe that) the vet video is relevant, a convo about guitars not so much. Jmo

Late morning recap

12:17 p.m.

They would talk about football, guitars, news headlines and other random subjects.

They would fact check random things by Googling a lot.

“As developers, you Google everything,” Moore said. “If you have a question, you don’t ask somebody, you Google it.”

Boring asked Moore if he used Reddit, which he did not.

The morning of

To you, did he ever share with you what he was doing at work in addition to what you can see? Boring said.

No, Moore said. He couldn’t see what Harris was doing on his phone, while Harris was stressed about getting his work done, Boring said. Sexting probably didn’t help him get his work done did it? Boring said. No, Moore said.

That side of Ross would be completely different from what you saw, Boring said. Yes, Moore said.

12:11 p.m.

Moore went with Harris to visit Cooper one time at Little Apron Academy daycare center.

Moore said that he heard Harris talk about Cooper a lot and showed everyone photos of the toddler.

“You never heard him say a bad word ever about his little boy, did you?” Kilgore said. No, Moore responded.

Harris told Moore that they loved Cooper so much that he and his wife would never get divorced.

12:03 p.m.

Kilgore is cross examining Moore.

There is a certain type of person who works in web development at Home Depot, Kilgore said. You have to be smart, know how to write code.

Harris fit the personality type that you guys were kind of silly throughout the day, Kilgore said. Yes, Moore responded. They showed each other memes, watched videos.

“You became aware on that day (the 18th) that Ross was under some stress because of a problem at work,” Kilgore said.

Moore heard a conversation between Harris and another coworker. He was behind on a task and there was conservation that morning of Cooper’s death about getting it worked out.

11:52 a.m.

Defense lawyer Bryan Lumpkin is cross examining Regina Malloy. Malloy says that she had once heard over a conversation with Harris that he lost some hearing in one ear after an accident.

Lumpkin also uses a satellite image of the Home Depot Treehouse parking lot to get Malloy to show him where employees prefered to park at the Treehouse building. She testifies that on the day of Cooper's death, Harris had parked further back than he usually did but not so far away that others wouldn't have possibly walked by the vehicle.

The prosecution calls its next witness, Brandon Moore. In 2014, Moore was a systems engineer for Home Depot's website. Moore sat close to Ross Harris but says that he didn't know him very well. Moore says that Harris seemed "distant, maybe a little stressed out" in the weeks before Cooper's death.

11:19 a.m.

The prosecution has called its next witness, Regina Malloy.

She works at Home Depot.

Malloy is a musician who discussed guitars with Harris who played.

A friend told her to speak to the police.

She saw Harris come into the office building with his guitar case about a week before Cooper’s death. He used to bring his guitar in because he said leaving it in the heat in his car would warp it, Malloy testified.

11:15 a.m.

On April 2, 2014, Robledo asked Harris about his son.

“The best ever!!!” he replied, sending Robledo a picture of Cooper.

She responded, “So adorable. I love his eyes.”

“He’s the best,” Harris said.

Most of their messages were about sex, though. At one point, Harris said he wanted to meet up because his wife was asleep. But they didn’t meet up.

The entirety of what you knew about his son Cooper was that Harris loved him, Kilgore said. Yes, she replied.

Moore said he seemed a little distant or stressed out in the weeks leading up to Cooper Harris' death. But appeared "normal" on the day Cooper died. He said Harris seemed to love his family. Moore said he had a conversation with Harris about if he or his wife cheated on each other that they would stick together and "suck it up."

Moore said he remembered a time with Harris brought in his guitar from his car because it was hot outside.

The defense is now questioning Moore, outlining where he and Harris sat in the office. Moore said Harris showed him pictures of Cooper in the past.

Yes, expensive musical instruments are, and yes, I see the rhetorical point the State is making, I just find it pretty weak, weaker still if it was meant to speak to intent.

With respect to your last paragraph, I am sure that the State is trying to establish the fact that Ross protects the things he cherishes from the heat in his car. Ross was warned about the danger of leaving his guitar in the car so he took steps to prevent his guitar from becoming damaged. When he was presented with the dangers of leaving living things in the car, he still left Cooper.

I know that this has not been admitted into evidence, but Ross also posted on Reddit that he doesn't understand people who leave laptops in cars during sporting events/concerts. I admit that I find his concern over leaving inanimate objects in cars troubling. Why didn't he show the same concern for his son?

I think they are showing Ross could indeed remember valuable things left in the car that would be hurt by the heat....he wasn't THAT forgetful.

jmo

Definitely not being snarky or meaning to be. But the fact that you took precautions to have a reminder, in itself gives pause that there is that possibility. I am not by any means excusing what RH did that caused the horrible death of his 22 mo old son. I can not imagine, but there are many thing that have happen through out my life that I can not believe happened. Good and not so much.Sadly this case is not the only case this has happen, thus the warnings, and "systems" to remind that a little one is in the car seat. JMHO

I have never said it was impossible to forget your kid in the car. What I have said is I don't believe it can be done in less than a minute or two , with the car seat inches from your drivers seat. Big difference.

Has RH family been in court at all????? Thanks if anyone knows...curious that there are so few folks in the courtroom.

RH was very very chatty with his attorneys when Regina showed up on the stand. I think her testimony demonstrated that he was able to remember how heat can damage. He was aware of how her testimony would look IMO.

Co worker of #RossHarris says he and wife Leanna agreed if someone cheated, they'd stay together for Cooper #hotcardeath

so if no Cooper, no Leanna?

Moore said the day Cooper died, seemed to be normal. He said he and Harris both gave "goofy waves" at each other at the end of the day. The behavior was normal, Moore said.

Definitely what they are insinuating. IMO

Defense just hit on the same point, then also went on to being stressed about a "Sprint" project (2 week turnaround) he was having a problem with.

But again, I wouldn't bring that up if I were the defense - knowing he left work early that day. Not too stressed, I guess.

Therein lies the difference between "forgetting" per se, as in, RH pulled into work then walked in, having "forgotten" Cooper was there, and, by the time RH reached the intersection he believed Cooper was at daycare. Those two things are not the same.
