@AM980_Court
  • Wilton was asked to look at the functionality if the RIM network. No issues, he says. No more questions from Carnegie.

@RaffertyLFP
  • Wilton said there was a delay in delivery just after midnight on the 8th
Isn't that when he was seen by the OPP just south of Woodstock on Hwy 59? JMO

But that would be the morning of Apr 9th, right? I hate it when they don't clarify midnight!

One message took 19 seconds to arrive, which another takes 5. The 3rd takes 3 seconds. The pattern says the device was unreachable, he says

RaffertyLFP: Wilton said the messages should arrive within 4-5 seconds. Derstine suggests there are variables such as speed of carrier network

Derstine asking if there are times Rafferty's blackberry may have been off. Wilton given time to consider that. 20 minute break

Just after midnight on the 8th. So does this technically mean the 9th? Or does this mean early morning before Tori was taken?

@AM980_Court
  • Derstine asks about three messages on the list. One hypothesis is there's a back up on the system, Wilton says.

I always have problems with that too. sigh.

Who is this woman CS who MR was BBMing like crazy on the same day Tori is dead? JMO

If she is not in court, it might be best to leave her further identity, involvement, etc alone? It makes me sad to see these women hunted down. We should be patient and see if the court provides more on her. If not, it would be nice to see her left alone. JMO

Who cares when his phone is off? What is the ACTIVITY showing from his phone. JMO

AM is the morning .... so they are referring to between midnight and one oclock in the morning on April 8 .... Tori was abducted later that day.

Avery Moore ‏ @AveryFreeFMNews
Justice Heeney calls the afternoon recess. 20 minutes.

Avery Moore ‏ @AveryFreeFMNews
Derstine questions Wilton on why a few messages might come in at once. Wilton says the phone could be off or out of service.

Not sure about video snoofer

they did have a slide show going on and below from an earlier tweet

Earlier we heard a voice call and a data call on Rafferty's phone bounced off two different towers minutes apart, in Mount Forest and Arthur

Perhaps this afternoon

jmo

Does this mean people (POF girls or others) were calling him trying to reach him OR did he initiate a call from his phone? Would either signal register in the cell phone towers?

Either way....the phone placed him at the crime scene on April 8th at the time of murder.

The man accused in the death of Victoria (Tori) Stafford did not use his cellphone for more than three hours in the time period that the eight-year-old girl was allegedly abducted, sexually assaulted and killed, his trial heard Thursday. Pages of detailed records belonging to Michael Rafferty presented in court showed a gap in phone calls and text messages on his BlackBerry between 4:28 p.m. and 7:46 p.m. on April 8, 2009 — the day the Grade 3 student was last seen alive.

I think this is as simple as MR taking the battery out while he and MC'LT were there w/Tori and then he put it back in later that night. I don't think Tori used the phone at all, wonder if they checked DNA on the BB?

A phone bill that was submitted as evidence in court showed his monthly balance had been more than $340 and listed at least 400 phone calls and data usage activities.
In a chart shown to the 12-member jury, David Broad, an official with Bell Canada explained that he was able to track some of Rafferty’s movements on April 8, 2009 through his connections with the company’s cellphone towers.
