We do not know what financial arrangements they had. We do not know if he was sure to have all her bills paid, kids decked out in great clothes for school, fridge full, meals cooked for them all, etc. We do not know this. We do not know if he was the one to watch all her kids as she went out working. There must have been an agreeable arrangement for it to have lasted that long. Maybe he was her form of "normalcy" to touch base with and pull it all together and remain somewhat grounded? MOO

IANAL but my guess would be that it may have been stipulated pre-trial that the Crown could not "go there" with all these POF ladies, exception being CS's testimony. Pertinent to the April 8 timeline, the admission would be necessary to explain the deposits she made to his bank account. Just guessing though.

If I listed on a flow chart the proven character flaws of TLM and the character flaws of MR...well lets just say I know whose would be the worst and whose would be most likely to murder a small child....haven't heard anyone state to date that MR was full of rage but have sure heard plenty about TLM...I know who I would not be leery of meeting in a dark alley.....JMO
 
I'm just speechless. And it isn't over yet. I think all the legal arguments are because the Crown is trying to bring things about him in that the defense doesn't want them to. Arrrrgggg.

This has perplexed me after learning how busy MR was with conning women. MR, for unknown reasons to me, had no problem whatsoever getting dates and girlfriends, so why would he get into a relationship with an <modsnip>, poor, eighteen year old criminal and junkie?

I have come to the conclusion that he was a serial "dater" for one reason only: to find the type of women he can use for his sick fantasies. TLM was the exact type of person he's been looking for to kidnap someone, just like she said he wanted to.

I'd be interested to hear more questions to these women he dated whether MR ever brought up kidnapping people to any of them.

Oh, and BTW, for the judge to say that his serial philandering and pimping is not to be used to judge his actions is wrong in my opinion, for the reason stated above.

I don't see him as a pimp. He was not supplying clients, she was probably advertising online at his suggestion. He just talked her into it. And manipulated her emotions to make her think he was her exclusive man who was going to marry her. And I'm sure he would have liked to find another one to double his payday, hence all the "fishing".

She obviously didn't need him, I understand she's doing quite fine on her own now. She just needed him to talk her into it in the first place.

If everything she said on the stand today was the truth. Which is all the jury has to go on.

So it just shows me that he manipulates women to do things for him. Even illegal things. I guess he figures all women will do anything "for a little love".

At least vulnerable ones.

That's my point, everyone has different expectation levels. We should not judge her reasons for her decisions. MOO

If she was on welfare and escorting on the side, had custody of all 5 children at that time she would have brought in $1500-2000 a month with all the child tax credits etc, I guess not including welfare money, or any child support money.

Just pointing out that she may not have needed the money. JMO

The only reason you are only hearing about TLM's history is because she is a witness in this trial. And as a witness, her past can be brought in to try to discredit her testimony.

His can't because it would be considered prejudicial. Flawed system IMO but it's the one we have. If people were allowed to testify as to his "character", I'm sure the floodgates would open about his real personality. And I'm sure we'd all have a better picture of why he wanted to abduct and rape a child.

Spitzig told the court on Friday she had been contacted by Rafferty on the day Stafford disappeared to make two deposits. She made one for $400 for a car payment and another in the afternoon that day for $100 because he had told he needed gas money, she said.

We know where he money he used that day came from now. Her. Ugh. JMO
