They have to show it all in the interests of completeness - even the least interesting parts. Just the way trials have to be ⚖️⚖️

No they don't, and often don't, and should have "don't" in this instance. Just saying.

Especially since what the heck, showing the whole , entire , complete, every second thing proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that no, Harris wasn't the least bit "chatty" with Piper, more's the pity, and no, he wasn't disinterested in what was happening with Cooper, but actually likely literally strained his neck trying to look on that direction, and no, he wasn't calm and unemotional in that car the entire time.

I can just imagine how uncomfortable the Jury is. Been there before and it is very hard to keep from dozing during the boring parts of the trial.

I don't think any defense attorney could have done any better than Kilgore did. He gave an excellent opening. IMO

I thought the same thing. I wonder if defense teams coach the defendant to act upset to try to gain pity.

The whole situation was odd. No one came over to talk to him while he was in the back. He asked no questions about Cooper once the wheels started moving in the LE car. He never again asked to make a call, just so odd.

Oh! Yes, that too... He seemed like he was mainly interested in seeing if they were believing it was accidental.

So this is the question he asked when the officer returned to the car? Really?

IMO it looks like he is testing the officer to see if she suspects he is guilty and he can adjust his behavior accordingly. Or, he is trying to see if any inexperience she has can work to his advantage.

I've watched enough episodes of COPS to know that I have yet see any suspect care how long a police officer has been doing their job.

Actually, he was still at the scene, handcuffed and detained because he had lost his cool, had tried to tell LE he could control himself yet is kept away from his son, alone in that car, with no one communicating to him what is going on, and that continues even after she returns to the car, when she tells him flat out after that one awkward question she's not going to talk with him.

The behavior I find most odd right now frankly is that of LE, not Harris's. How he responded to a female officer is consistent to me with how he seems to have been with Leanne-- cowed.

Sure, that would be a logical first question. I don't believe though it was the only question that could have been asked in that situation.

Just for the sake of argument, let's say Cooper's death was accidental, Harris had just found him dead, he thinks his wife will never forgive him, he knows he'll never forgive himself, and on top of all that, LE is definitely treating him like a suspect.

I'm not sure any question he could have asked would sound OK to most folks. I think most of us think we would be so overcome with grief that we'd be incapable of speaking at all. I think that of myself for sure.

But. I'm not Harris, have no clue who he is, or how he responds to anything, and unless he is a sociopath, I think it's very likely he was in some kind of shock at that point.
