Same here! She killed herself on the porch. Isn't that where the boyfriend also died of a gunshot wound?

Yes... :(

Mindy McCready denies killing boyfriend David Wilson

Mindy McCready opens up about the death of her boyfriend, producer/musician David Wilson, in a new interview with NBC's Andrea Canning of "Dateline."

Authorities said Wilson was found dead of a gunshot wound on Jan. 14 on the porch of the couple's home in Heber Springs, Ark. At the time, police said they responded to Wilson's home after receiving a report of a self-inflicted gunshot. The investigation, though, remains open, and murder hasn't been ruled out.

More on the boyfriend's death (bbm) (ETA - take note, however, that this quote attributed to LE came from the Nat'l Enquirer - the Sheriff's Dept will not confirm or deny it):

David Wilson Death Not Yet Ruled a Suicide; Mindy McCready Allegedly Being Investigated

Did Mindy McCready play a role in her boyfriend's death? As the country singer mourns the loss of the man she called her "soulmate," David Wilson, she is now having to also weather claims that she may have had something to do with his death.

The 34-year-old music producer died Jan. 13 from what was initially declared a self-inflicted gunshot wound. But police now insist the cause of death has not yet been determined.

"This is a very high-profile case and we need to make sure it's investigated as thoroughly as possible. It could take weeks for the state crime lab to complete tests on Mr. Wilson's body, and if you'll notice, it was Mindy McCready's spokesperson -- not anyone involved in the investigation -- who made the determination that Mr. Wilson's death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound," Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss tells the National Enquirer.

A source tells E! News Mindy’s father, Tim McCready, was staying with McCready until this morning when he returned to Florida. When he left, “she was in good spirits and seemed to be fine,” the source told E! News.

According to the report, neighbors heard gunshots at her house and called the police.

“She shot herself and the dog,” the source told E! News.
The Associated Press confirmed the singer’s death with the coroner

About a month ago, McCready’s boyfriend, David Wilson, died at the age of 34. His cause of death has has not been released, however the investigation is still open.

The Daily Mail article I linked above also has its report from a week or two ago about the David Wilson death.

I just keep thinking of her children! This is just so sad for so many!

May you rest in Peace Mindy. Your life was frought with hardships, sexual abuse and explotation of those who should have protected you! I don't agree with your life choices, but I understand them. You were a soul that felt everything and couldn't deal with it any longer.

May others learn from your life and be stronger for it!

<Mod Snip> IF she killed the dog, IF, it was so the children could move on, without the reminder of either of the two parents they just lost to suicide.

If my Nanny had a dog when she killed herself, I would have been the one to take that dog in. Losing the most important person in my life was the hardest thing I ever had to go through, but then seeing her friend every day and having to 'raise' that friend, would have been too much for me to have to deal with alone. I just wanted my Nanny back! This animal would have been a reminder of what I had lost. I would have felt so much anger toward that dog! I am a BIG animal lover, but I don't know if my rational brain could have dealt with that at the time. IMO

I think I'm going to :puke:

RIP Mindy...

Those poor little boys...

Apparently the treatment facility sent her home after 2 days saying she was mentally stable. They were wrong.

I am so sad for the baby. Both his parents gone. I hope there is loving family to take care of him and guide him through life.
I am also glad those children were not around. I have no doubt that had they been there they would have been killed, too, like the dog. It seems that she must have felt that no one could take care of the dog but her. Very selfish.

So sad. I read she only had 24 hours of inpatient care when she was severely depressed and then was sent to outpatient care. How many cases here on WS have we seen of successful suicides because of this!?! Sad!!

Depression is a horrible, horrible demon. God bless her, her late husband, her kids and her pets.

Who? A suicidal person who thinks no one will take good care of the pet/child once that suicidal person is gone.

Not all of them. My best friend killed herself, but left her animals be. All of them. She also left her child untouched, thank goodness.

I hope the baby is not given to her mother. Just in case.

I echo everyone on here expressing sadness over this. I heard the news and my heart just sank. Poor thing.

So sorry to hear that. Suicide is a horrible thing. I have a dear friend whose son killed himself at the age of 20. It will be 2 yrs in May! There is nothing that can heal her heart.

There are alternatives! Suicide prevention should be "out there" just as much as any other cause!

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's son also. I know the pain it leaves behind. It's been 8 years and the emotional pain, questions, tears are all still here. There was anger mixed with sadness after the initial shock, but the anger has faded. It was a shock to all of us. No history of drugs or alcohol, but she did suffer from depression although she hid it well - wearing a smile on her face most days. She was very dear to a lot of people and we miss her. Her son was 15 when she did it. That's the saddest part. He misses his mama.

It's really very sad that Mindy felt she had to do this. I read an article that said her dad had just left this morning to return to Florida and when he returned she seemed fine. Sad for her family, her children and for everyone who loved her.

Those that are left behind, tend to suffer the most.
