The Saudi's tried to use a body double. I think having a fake beard shows some degree of pre-planning. (Not that I think there's much doubt about that.)
_____________

Newly leaked CCTV footage has emerged that appears to show a man leaving the Saudi consulate in Istanbul wearing the clothes of the murdered Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

CNN aired the footage on Monday, citing a Turkish official who identified the man as Mustafa al-Madani, a “body double” and member of a 15-man Saudi team sent to Istanbul to target Khashoggi. The agent, wearing glasses and a fake beard in an apparent attempt to further resemble the journalist, is seen touring a number of landmarks in the Turkish city after leaving the consulate.

The apparent Saudi aim was for footage of the man to be picked up by CCTV and distributed, thereby bolstering claims made in the days after Khashoggi’s disappearance on 2 October that he had left the consulate unscathed.

CCTV footage appears to show Khashoggi body double in Istanbul

The Saudi consulate KNEW Khashoggi was showing up on Oct 2 because they contacted him in London and gave him the appointment time.

PRE-MEDITATED

The evidence just mounts and mounts.

For the US, the question of what the CIA and WH knew and when is extremely pertinent

The video appears to show Madani without a beard, wearing a blue and white checked shirt and dark blue trousers when he arrived.

Law enforcement surveillance footage appears to show the man leaving the consulate by the back door, wearing what appears to be JK’s dark blazer, gray shirt opened at the collar and trousers, a fake beard, glasses and wearing the same dark pair of sneakers with white soles when he first arrived. He was accompanied by an alleged accomplice.

In the apparent cover-up that followed JK’s death, Madani, 57, who is of similar height, age and build to JK, 59, was used as a decoy for the journalist.

Jamal Khashoggi: Surveillance footage shows Saudi 'body double,' Turkish source says - CNN

News of the 'body double' has come very late in the day; but it gets worse for the Saudi's as each day that goes by. The Saudi's could have done a better job with CGI effects.

Hopefully a load of new facts tomorrow.

Notice that the suit worn by the imposter is very clean - not at all stained by the huge amount of blood that must have been spilled....

So they stripped him or his body?

And the imposter brought a fake beard with him on the trip from Riyadh on the Gulfstream?

The Saudi's would have had a very recent photo of him from his visit to the consulate on Sept 28.

This is very premeditated.

The problem with the Saudis (like Israel) is they know that they're untouchable. They can do anything they want and get away with it. Trump will make his empty threats as will Theresa May here in the UK but ultimately they know they'll do nothing when it comes to the crunch. There's the Oil (to a lesser degree), there's the weapons deals and then there's the Saudi money invested in the countries.

If the Saudis pulled their money out of London or any major American city it would be absolute chaos.

Jeremy Hunt vowed No 10 will "act accordingly" if the "appalling" stories about the death of Jamal Khashoggi turn out to be true.

Meanwhile, US president Donald Trump says he was "not satisfied" with what he has heard from Saudi Arabia and German Chancellor Angela Merkel called the journalist's death a "monstrosity"

She promised to stop arms exports to Saudi Arabia until the case is "cleared up".

Riyadh's version of events "does not amount to a credible explanation", he said, adding that "anyone found responsible for any offence must be held accountable".

The US broadcaster said it had obtained footage which appears to show the man leaving the Istanbul consulate dressed in Mr Khashoggi's clothes and wearing glasses and a fake beard.

Karen Attiah, Mr Khashoggi's former boss at the Washington Post, told Sky News: "It obviously speaks to a plan, something that was pre-meditated, not some sort of fight or ambush as the Saudis claimed over the weekend.

"It suggests that something bad was supposed to happen to Jamal."

Speaking before Mr Hunt in the Commons, Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the killing "in the strongest possible terms" and added "we must get to the truth of what happened".
Jamal Khashoggi: World leaders demand answers over 'monstrous' journalist killing

Very clearly premeditated.

The Saudis had the chance to personally observe him on Sept 28 when he first went to the consulate. They had the chance to look at his hair & beard & get his relative body habitus to match to an imposter.

They probably should have done more with the imposters hair, but clearly they brought a false beard meant to match Khashoggi's.

Tell-tale. Premeditated murder

Apparently the Saudis dressed a "body double in the dead mans clothing (shoes and hairline did NOT match.) --and the imposter was filmed leaving the embassy; and walking around town. The fiancee was not aware of the body double leaving embassy.

She didn't see the imposter leaving because he was filmed leaving through the rear door of the consulate.

What we’ve heard so far

October 2, 11:03 a.m. Madani arrived at the SA Consulate wearing a blue checked shirt, dark blue trousers and dark sneakers with white soles.

At 1:14 p.m. JK entered the consulate for his appointment which was scheduled for 1:30. He gave his 2 mobile phones to his fiancée and told her to call an adviser to President Erdogan if he did not come back out.

He was there to receive an official document for his upcoming marriage to his Turkish fiancée. He had told a friend the previous day he was concerned that he could be kidnapped after entering the embassy.

Once inside, the Saudis accosted him, cut off his fingers, decapitated and dismembered him. Turkish authorities said a forensic pathologist with a senior position in the Interior Ministry was a member of the alleged hit squad. They said he was carrying a bone saw when he arrived in Istanbul. It is alleged he had the job of dismembering JK.

2:52 p.m. Madani is shown departing from the rear of the consulate apparently wearing JK’s clothing although he was wearing different shoes. He also appeared to wear a fake beard and glasses. His alleged accomplice was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and was carrying a white plastic bag.

Several hours later images show the two take a taxi to Istanbul’s Sultanahmet district, where they enter a bathroom. Madani emerged from the bathroom wearing the same plaid shirt he had on when he arrived at the consulate. The two men disposed of the plastic bag which Turkish officials believe contained JK’s clothes.

Later, the two are seen approaching the Mövenpick Hotel where both were believed to have stayed during their brief trip to Istanbul.

Just before 5:00 p.m. JK’s fiancée, while still waiting outside, called the police after the consulate had closed and he had still not emerged.

Turkey alleged that 15 Saudi officials who arrived in Istanbul on Sept. 29 were involved in the killing, before departing the country shortly after. Investigators said that hours after JK’s disappearance, men were seen loading boxes from the consulate into a black vehicle.

By nightfall, Turkish crime-scene investigators swarmed an underground car parking garage where a Saudi consular vehicle had been parked. Surveillance footage showed what Turkish security officials described as suspicious actions, including an image of a man moving a bag from one vehicle to another.

The Saudis shifting versions – Part 1

(Dates are approximate due to articles being published on different dates. However, the content has been checked many times over.)

October 4: The consulate tweeted that it was following up on media reports of the disappearance “after he left the consulate building”.

October 5: The Crown Prince said he understood that JK left the consulate after “a few minutes or one hour. We have nothing to hide”. He insisted that JK was no longer inside the consulate and said that Turkish authorities were welcome to search the consulate. The Saudis said he’d left via a back entrance, explaining why JK’s fiancée didn't see him.

October 6: At 1:00 a.m. the Attorney-General admitted JK had died in the consulate. He said the death was an accident as a result of a discussion that went awry and that the group of officials involved in his death covered up the aftermath.

October 7: Turkish officials said JK had been killed at the consulate and they have gruesome audio recordings to back this up. "You can hear his voice and the voices of men speaking Arabic. You can hear how he was interrogated, tortured and then murdered. We believe that the murder was premeditated and the body was subsequently moved out of the consulate". The Saudis describe the allegations as “baseless”.

October 8: The Prince’s younger brother doubled down on claims that SA played no role in JK’s death. He said, “I assure you that the reports that suggest that Jamal Khashoggi went missing in the consulate in Istanbul or that the kingdom’s authorities have detained him or killed him are absolutely false and baseless” but when asked if they had footage of him leaving the consulate he did not respond. The Saudis said his death was the result of a fistfight and later said he died in a chokehold and that a group of officials involved in the death covered up the aftermath. They don’t know where his body is.

October 9: Turkey said it will search the consulate.

October 11: Turkey and SA agree to form a joint group to shed light on the disappearance.
