This is true, but it's also very, very rare. Most killers don't display their victims like this. They either leave them where they killed them or dispose of them in a very secretive way.

True. Although, I believe this killer likes to brag to himself or show off & watch. Maybe his first real kill of a human being. Youngish. I think they wanted to see and hear the news.

If so, glad the news has stopped. (never did I think I'd ever say that)

I agree with every single thing you've said.

Looking back to when I was a child, my parents "knew" all of our neighbors. Most still live there on my parents street or died there. Some of their adult children now reside in their inherited homes. I was an only child and spent lots of time visiting neighbors alone many that were men.

It was wonderful. I so enjoyed the times I spent and learned lots of really important and interesting things.

I guess people didn't know very much about pedophiles back then. My mom once asked me, a few years ago, if anyone ever did anything inappropriate to me as she felt she was too trusting. She was very relieved to hear the answer was no.

It's very sad that I trusted no one with mine alone except my own parents.

I mostly only had grandparents watch my kids too. It was more than the potential dangers of physical or sexual harm, but influences.

I think of so many things at night. Like did Alanna go with the perp willingly? Is it someone she knew? Did she get lured? What was she thinking? Could she have escaped? Was anyone there that could have helped her? I hope she didnt suffer. I hope we get some answers soon.

In that case, didn't his mother prompt him to confess?
Yes, and Jessica wasn't left on display. Her torso was in a field and it was not easily found. Some men essentially stumbled upon the torso which was in a bag. Other parts of Jessica were buried under his house in the crawl space. We aren't privy to anything in Alanna's death which is similar to Jessica's.

IMO, Alanna wasn't displayed. Her entire body was wrapped in a tarp and her head was inside a plastic bag.

I do think someone left her in a place where she would be quickly found, but this doesn't have to be someone who was bragging or taunting the police. There are other reasons why some individuals would want her to be found quickly.

True Pensfan re: Austin Sigg. I only wish that if this perp has a mom, they would turn him in. Or a father could too.

Austin's mom did. Very proud of her to step up. You can't ignore it.

I can't imagine having to face up to something like that. I believe my hiney would move fast though. Very fast after putting two and two together.

My main problem with a perp dropping her off in the middle of an intersection for shock value is the need for attention versus the risk of getting caught. I know some psychologists might argue that people like this want to be caught, but eh, I don't think so in this case. There's nothing really significant, in terms of symbolic, about the intersection except that it's not private. Most killers either leave the bodies of their victims where they are or hide the bodies of their victims. I can't think of a child who was murdered whose body was left on display. This child was dumped on a residential street. IMHO, it doesn't seem like this was for attention. It seems like this was more desperation/hurried/panic-driven.

One of the saddest cases, Samantha Runnion. Although her murderer left her near the Cleveland national Forest, which is somewhat remote for densely populated southern California, she was off Killen Trail which is off a main road and is where lots of off road bikers go. As a result, Samantha was found the day after she was abducted.

Samantha was posed and "left on display".

:goodpost: cypress.

Alanna's body covered in a tarp, but not hidden from view may be an example of "undoing". This is a person's way of expressing a desire to "undo" the corpse's death.

LOL, the damage is already done I'm afraid. darn...my computer hd would link me to probably 100 or more crimes...let alone types of killings or whatever else I've looked up. I'm too brave somedays. Never check *advertiser censored* though.

Weird, I wonder how the streets were where she was found? They seemed clean to me. What about moving day? Was Monday July 1st a day where people would be moving in/out of the area? Thank you so much for your insight!

I haven't reached the end of the thread, if it's been answered already I apologize. There are not many rental properties in this neighborhood so if there was anyone moving in/out on the first I'd be surprised. Trash day can look a little messy sometimes because, unlike some cities in the area, in Saginaw you are not required to use specific bins, or any bins really. Seeing a tarp on the side of the road would not have been just too terribly out of place.

Alanna may not have known the perp but I think the perp knew her.....
Knew she almost always ran around the neighborhood ALONE....
Alone For hours at a time. :(
Knew that they (perps) were NOT allowed in Alanna's yard per comment from someone in her neighborhood.

And that set off a Red flag for me...we had one house on my childhood street that was always off limits. Friends said we couldn't play in that yard.....later as a teen , I found out the occupants violent alcoholics.

And that is why I think she was dropped there, wrapped in a tarp. Intentionally left there. I believe someone said it was trash pick up day in her neighborhood. Was it trash pick up day in that neighborhood too? What was the schedule normally? For both neighborhoods? What time did the trash get picked up that day? Is there a local on here that might know these answers?

Yes, I live three streets from where she was found and Monday is our trash day. I am fairly new to town and am not positive when they do pick up. Thursday is our next trash day so I will be looking out for them and let you know when they come.

Thank you. I think that having been trash day more than likely says the perp is very local and knew it was trash day.
Sorry, dont mean to frighten you anymore than you probably already are.
I do think LE feels pretty certain who the perp is and are keeping him/her under surveillance.

I sure hope you're right about LE knowing who did this and where they are. And don't worry about scaring me any more than I already am. I'm not sure it's possible. I am writing this in my bedroom with my kids in bed between me and my husband. Yes, I am over-the-top.
