I would beg to disagree about them being well provided for. Every story and testimony highlights the fact that Cash was found with only shorts on. Even hours later everyone in all the photos had on long sleeves and sweats.
It was in the low 60’s and damp that night. They had shorts on, big shorts, not PJs. No shirts or socks. One little blanket. Crowded in a toddler bed. They both looked very skinny, not like the little round filled-out faces in earlier pictures.

Had they been traded or were they worth an extortion or ransom? Who put up and lost the $10,000 bond on the Dad who renewed his relationship with MS Sharrod about the same time? Why were the twins so passionately identified as her and their babies even as their baby by the daughter? And identified as a brother. The only time I’ve heard Monica so outraged about the brutal murder was when relating what all she had done for them, her right to them, defending and justifying her claim to the twins. It’s on record. Then there was the Gofund me request. Why?

There are many hinky things about this case, things that don't add up, and nothing would surprise me. I think it's just DB doing something sick, but we will know when we know.

IMO though, since we all seem to agree that the family doesn't appear to have much money, who would extort them or hold Cash for ransom? How would they pay that when they apparently couldn't afford curtains or two beds in the twins' room?

I would think it would be more likely, if the scenario is paying off a drug debt (or any kind of debt, like gambling, whatever, we don't know) that someone would steal a healthy white child to sell in an illegal adoption. Although most people who, speaking candidly, would pay a premium price for a healthy white child would want an infant. Not a child who can speak and has a memory of other parents and would be unhappy being removed from his sibling and the other familiar people in his life. So I can't see how that really fits.

I've seen many instances where children who live with someone not their parents do refer to their caretakers as mom, dad, sister and brother. If the boys have been around MS since they were two, they could have just fallen into that habit. You hear other kids saying "mom," that seems to them to be MS' name, then they call her mom. Especially if they haven't seen their real mother for awhile. I know kids who live with foster mothers or grandmothers and always refer to them as "my mom."

If DB acted alone, and the plan was simply to murder cash, I have to wonder why he didn’t just do it at the home of MS, why risk being seen carrying a crying/bleeding toddler 8 whole blocks? I also wonder if there’s a reason for cash being left on the road in that spot he was found. Does DB or any of the MS family have any connections to the people living where cash was found?

This explains why the February police blotter blog reporting the arrest couldn’t be confirmed by an approved government source.

It was expunged from the record. After the man declined to press charges, LE took him to mental health. Metro something. I don't remember the name. The paper that had the arrest record removed that story today, too

People - kids- are kidnapped for non payment, not because they are rich.
And- IMO, the Dad who is and has been in an undisclosed location and possibly now negotiating a deal, he would be the one who could have been the target of the kidnapping murder scheme. IMO. Wasn’t that his sister pleading for leniency saying he has a good heart, just made some bad choices? Is he really just afraid of a little
rehab and jail time? And Ms Sharrod said to the effect- he’a left us to deal with this as if it’s our fault…. What does that mean?

No, this charge is for an incident in an unrelated case from Feb. Man did not want to file charges until he learned DB allegedly killed Cash.

I don't think being skinny means anything, especially at this age, I don't know how long they've been four, but my five year old had a chubby little face just before four, but now she's five, shes taller and skinnier and no longer has her chubby baby face anymore. Think it's fairly standard at this age.
And my skinny minnie is very well cared for, she's just naturally very slim.

I don't think they were well provided for by my standards but I do think she provided for them to the best of her ability and living situation and I don't think she wished any harm to come to these boys. This is something she will live with for the rest of her life. I don't blame her I blame that sick evil person that broke into her house that night. There are a number of theories being put forth here that seem a bit too sophisticated for our suspect. Had he not had a series of previous encounters in and around the neighborhood with random semi-bizarre acts of vandalism, violence and theft, I could possibly entertain the "pawn of a cartel" theory. But a person who's randomly wandering the neighborhood at night committing random property crimes is, in my opinion, not a reliable scapecoat for sophisticated drug debt revenge scheme by an unseen party. He's a wild card, not in control of his impulses, they need someone predictable. This guy, if he was the pawn of someone else, would be blabbing to everyone who would listen, and we would have heard about it by now. What do we hear from LE? He is our only suspect, he did this alone, we're just waiting for the lab tests to confirm what we already know.

The prior incident of attempted kid-snatching, and yes, I'm assuming it happened based on what I've read so far, just confirms to me that our suspect seems to have some sort of fixation with kids, and a level of poor impulse control that is incompatible with coexistence in civilized society. My guess is that there were other signs, many of them, and he should have been institutionalized long ago.

I'm also willing to gamble and say the motive is sexual, and it escalated to murder because you can't keep an upset child quiet at that age.

Hard to believe he'd be so brazen as to kick in a door, punch the guy, and try to walk out with his granddaughter right in front of the guy! Even harder to believe the grandfather didn't press charges at that time. I mean... HELLO!! That's not small beans there.

I still clearly think he knows what he is doing , he just dosen't care how bold he is, gets away with everything , I went to school with a guy like that , he just basically did what he wanted and got bolder and bolder then finally when he was in his 20s stabbed and killed another friend that went to school with us , last I heard he was killed walking out someone's front door with electronic equipment , I'm sure he was mental but he knew what he was doing .

Three days after Cash was found dead on a Dallas street while wearing only a pair of shorts, the grandfather met with child abuse detectives to say he now wanted to press charges in the incident, KTVT reported. Suspect in Cash Gernon case allegedly grabbed another toddler

This explains to me why we saw those charges and not the expected murder charges in Cash's case. Because these new ones relate to the little girl/grandfather incident and not Cash. Which means we are still awaiting a charge of murder in regards to Cash.

ah man. We have discussed the seeming escalation of DB's bold acts. Now we see from this info that he was heading towards abducting a small child all the way back in February. I wonder several things. Was the February breakin assault abduction attempt in the same general neighborhood/area as DB's other acts (ie. was this incident geographically near to MS residence)? Would MS or her teens have reason to know about it even tho DB was never charged? Like neighborhood gossip or DB bragging to peers? I am wondering if that is the reason for the MS household not wanting him around and MS statement that she was angry her teens had let DB in the house and around the babies.

I wonder how that grandfather feels? Knowing now what DB would go on to do. There has to be some sense of guilt there. And relief that his granddaughter is still with us.

Man it feels like this kid was just escalating all over the place and his mother's statements initially when he was charged just keep coming back to me. There were opportunities to prevent this horrific crime. And yet nobody did so. Everyone gave this kid pass after pass as he turned into a killer.

Nobody will ever convince me this mother was unaware of the February incident where her son broke into a grandfather's home and snatched up a toddler. So her statements made on his initial arrest are even more ludicrous and inflammatory to me. I'll say it again. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
