The fact that she was in the passenger seat, kind of rules out the idea that she suddenly needed something, went out of her way to get it before arriving at work, and then died in her car in a sudden cardiac event or aneurism, or seizure, etc.

While SAPD says their investigation into Chrissy's disappearance and death is ongoing, I wonder if perhaps we have heard the last we will hear about this case, unless they determine she was a victim of homicide, which, at least initially, seems unlikely, according to them. If her death is ruled the result of an accidental drug overdose, or of suicide, other than to satisfy public curiosity, what would be the point in announcing that? They already have informed the public that she has been found, and circumstances seem to point to there being no ongoing threat to public safety. I believe that is all we will learn of this case, and really is all we are entitled to know. JMO

If LE determines this was suicide or a death due to medical condition, then I believe we will not hear much of anything other than just a statement that her death was suicide or natural. Privacy kicks in then.

It was reported that there was no visible trauma to her remains. I don't think we'll hear the authorities announce it if her death was suicide. Maybe just state that it wasn't suspicious in nature. Perhaps she left a note behind.

She had 2 beautiful kids.
She also had a good job and caring coworkers.
Her relationship with mother seemed loving.

I wonder if organized community searches would result in finding her much quicker. Most of the focus was probably on her route(s) to work. We don't know if her car was parked where it was found from day one, but IMO it seems more likely than not.

I'm still of the strong opinion that this death was very possibly heat stroke-related and/or because of some other medical issue/problem she was experiencing. She may have had a medical condition that - combined with the excessive heat - caused her unfortunate passing. And, it's worth noting that even people that are young & healthy can & do succumb to heat stroke.

Her being in the passenger seat is not necessarily suspicious or indicative that someone else "moved" here there, etc. As has been mentioned, she possibly moved herself into the passenger seat for whatever reason - maybe she was looking for something in her glove compartment or under the seat(s), etc. I know that I myself have needed to sit in my passenger seat (in my parked car) if I needed to look for something specific, etc. There have been several times over the years when something I needed has fallen in between the seat(s) and it's tough to locate, etc.

If she had signs of physical trauma on her body I would agree that foul play may have been involved. However, given that wasn't the case - I really don't believe that's what happened here.

This all being said, I do think it's somewhat unusual that she didn't at least open a door or window to get some relief - if she had actually parked her car so she could look for something inside/between the seats, etc. That also being said, it's possible that she was planning on opening a door/window & passed out before she was able to.

They've already indicated no sign of foul play here. If not a crime, authorities typically defer to the family whether or not additional death details are released. Most families want privacy to grieve and authorities will honor that decision. JMO

I was thinking maybe it was something like diabetes and she went into insulin shock. We know she was running pretty late that day which was apparently unusual. So something was already amiss before she ever left the house in my opinion. MOO

From this video you can really see that the car wasn't parked in a tucked-away back part of the shopping center -- it was in the middle of what looks like it would be a busy area. And unless they moved her car while extricating her, it looks like she is poorly parked in a spot she pulled forward into, with her hood facing out. So weird that a car parked in that way would not be noticed, or a person in it would not be noticed!

Not only was her car parked in between busy businesses, what you can't see underneath the picture of her car is that there are a bunch of benches and tables for people to sit down and relax/eat food. I think if this was foul play, her car wouldn't have been positioned in a place with such high traffic and constant people walking/sitting nearby. It almost makes me think that she chose that location in the hopes that she would have been found a lot quicker. I don't know, I'm just speculating. Damn, this is so sad. Rest in Peace Chrissy.

No evidence of foul play. Autopsy pending further study. I guess anything is possible here. Perhaps she ingested something (drugs, fentanyl)? But where was she for 2 weeks before her car ended up in the parking lot? Where did she go the last time she disappeared?

I don't think the car not being noticed for so long means anything. It seems like a large, busy parking lot. It is also a parking lot for a number of private businesses so we have no idea if the security officer was even patrolling the parking lot. He may have been assigned to a store and just happened to notice the car. Given that it is large and free parking, a car being there overnight may not be a strange occurrence at all. In fact just a quick browse shows me at least one store that is open until 1am.

It looks like her windows are tinted so a security guard who is making minimum wage isn't going to pay much attention to a car that is parked there. It isn't breaking any rules.

Then finally the guard notices it one day and sees it hasn't moved. Again, odd but not crazy. Finally he or someone else notices the bad smell. He goes up to it, finally get a close enough to get a glimpse into the tinted windows and sees Chrissy, obviously deceased or the least unwell, and calls the cops.

As for her being the passenger seat, if she chose to end her life that doesn't surprise me. She pulled off the road and may have been sitting the car for a long time considering her decision. The passenger seat is more comfortable. I have sat in mine when one the phone or waiting in my car - you can stretch out a bit more. Also possible whatever she needed was in the glove compartent.

If it was not suicide, she may have been not been feeling well and pulled off the road into the parking lot. Got into the passenger seat to rest for a bit (realized she didn't have her phone so couldn't call anyone but needed to relax before driving). Moved to passenger seat for comfort then passed away due to the medical condition or maybe heat stroke.

(Personally I think it was suicide, based on indicators from articles and what her sister said. But it could absolutely be something else).

Regardless, nothing stands out to me as fishy. Unfortunate for sure. She should have been found sooner. But I think people are reading too much into a minimum wage security guard for a very large, open parking lot not noticing one specific car.

I think her car was actually parked slightly to the right of the photo of her car that is covering the bench area on the pic below. This is judging by the full photo of the car shown in the news video. It's still close to people seating and walking by.
