For those who know D’Lanny Chairez, the month of April has been one regarded ominously.

In April of 2017, Chairez’s mother, Patricia Flores, pleaded guilty to the murder of her 2-year-old grandson.

In April of 2019, Matthew Dempsey, the father of Chairez’s infant son, James, pleaded guilty to the murder of his mother.

Now, in April of 2021, Chairez stands accused of abandoning her 1-year-old son, who still remains missing nearly a month after she was arrested.

“She called it last year and said something's bound to happen next April because something always happens in April,” said Chairez’s aunt, Mariesol Gomez.

Chairez was arrested in March on a charge of abandoning her son, James, and had one of her first hearings, a request for a reduction in bail, in April. Her arrest came nearly a week after the San Antonio Police Department requested help locating the mother and her young son, who had both been reported missing Feb. 22.

An affidavit for Chairez’s arrest detailed how she told investigators she wanted to give her child up for adoption because she wasn’t ready to be a mother and the child “deserved better.” However, court documents state she was silent about any information on her son’s whereabouts.

One would think if the adoption is true, those prospective parents would have let LE know he's with them..
If you need to keep it a secret then something is not right, baby can't be safe.
Unfortunately I don't think he is alive and mum is trying to get more time, Casey Anthony Jr vibes.
She seemed to be a good mum, what happened?!?

ITA. If she gave the baby to someone and he’s alive and well, why at this point wouldn’t you just give the info to LE by now? Your criminal charges would be negligible and the system can help with a legal adoption, etc.

So the only reason as I see it to stay quiet is because that’s not what happened to this precious boy and she’s stalling for time, as you said. Really does have the CA vibe to it.

All my speculation and opinion only.

Whaat? The aunt only lives 1/2 mile away?
Heck that’s walking distance....what about Christmas?

The aunts daughter said that James was in a "mood " and didnt want to be around anyone. The grandfather went and visited Dlanny and James around the 22nd. Her Aunt sent gifts over to them for Christmas. Dlanny posted photos of James opening the gifts a couple if days after Christmas (per her Aunt Mariesol).

Nothing new? How disappointing! Where is Baby James? Moo

A mother and baby’s disappearance has a family member fearing the worst (ksat.com)
[...]

“She left everything behind,” MG said. “It was all in drawers and on the floor. James’s clothes, diapers and toys. Everything.”

MG said she has been in their lives since the beginning, even being there for the birth of James.

[...]

She said Chairez is a quiet woman that typically stays to herself and that she is a great mom.

“Dlanny was a very good mom to him,” MG said. “Showed love to him. Cared for him. Fed him and made sure he always had everything in his diaper bag.”

San Antonio police said the mother and son were last seen on Feb. 22.

[...]

MG is currently working with multiple organizations including KJ’s Angels to spread awareness about her family.

[...]
She was in the process of moving out of her Aunts (MG) trailer.

I feel like with all the changes that the court knows where James is.
Since its sealed I doublt any if us will know the whole story.

This makes me feel a little hopeful. Lowering the bond should mean that LE doesn't think she killed James right? Surely, if they had evidence of murder (but what about the blood on the crib sheet???) they wouldn't lower her bond would they?

Also, if they found James had been part of an illegal adoption I would hope LE would notify the public after asking for help in finding him.

I don't think James is dead. I bet she isn't saying much because he was sold and that would still be a pretty serious crime. By August, James will look nothing like the pictures of him that are out there.
I keep thinking about that as well, but that blankie seemed to have quite a lot of blood on it. Wouldn't she have tossed his toys and clothes in a box to go with him for said transaction? moo. :(

D0 we know who's blood it was? Keeping his stuff is making more sense to me now... If she really gave him to someone I have no doubt she missed him a lot and probably wanted to keep some things, I guess? The state of the house also makes it look like she was most likely having a really hard time.

The child being sold has come up as a theory in a lot of the missing children cases I’ve followed here. Is it more common than I think that children are sold? Not disagreeing this could be a viable opinion in this case, but I guess I’ve never seen it be confirmed that a child was sold and then later recovered but then I suppose media wouldn’t report the names because the child is a minor? just thinking out loud here. You could be on to something. Could this be the idea that DC is pushing that James was adopted, but really he was sold ? Who do you sell a child to ? I hate saying this but my mind only goes to sex trafficking. Is there another “industry” ( for lack of a better word ) that a child is sold in to ?

Babies are sometimes 'sold' into illegal adoptions. It is impossible to legally adopt if one adoptive parent is older or in poor mental or physical health, or has a criminal history. So if they have money to spend they can look on the dark web or black market for an underground adoption---which is essentially 'buying' a child.

Illegal child brokers may scam young or poor mothers out of their children or bribe them, etc. In poor south American clinics, young mothers have been told their babies died, only to learn later on they were taken and sold to baby brokers.

AFAIK, it is reportedly human blood but whose blood it is hasn't been disclosed. MOO

At least in Seattle right now, they are lowering bond on almost every charge. That often means nothing. We just had a very serious DV charge be lowered from $500k to $100 cash bond.
