Let's Find Erica Hernandez

Such a sad but heartfelt post...:(

May 13
Her three children are devastated. They will no longer feel the hugs and kisses of their loving mother, no more vacations together, no more going out to eat together...
We are trying to stay strong for them.
...
Thank you to each and every one of you who have been here for us since Day 1, when we announced Erica was missing, who continued praying and reaching out to support us emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF EACH OF HER FAMILY’S HEARTS.

The family created a post sharing they are making funeral arrangements and asking for a contact in getting a police escort for Erica’s funeral.

It wasn’t too long until, the family received this response:
Silvia Trevino, Harris County Constable Precinct 6, has offered support by providing a police escort during Erica’s funeral at no cost.

This could have been nothing nefarious or a case of wreck-less driving.
The thing that puzzles me is the time between leaving her friends house and being spotted around court rd and s post oak. 1.5 hours later. There is nothing open on that corner, except maybe shell. Mostly residential once you pass the beltway
As far as tolls, I don’t think it ever occurred to me she may be trying to avoid them and this is why she ended up where she did. Good question though @MimosaMornings !:)
But I often wondered if the cameras on the tollway may have caught something.

@ChuckInHouston Just genuinely curious to your reasoning behind why you think she wasn’t avoiding tolls. :)

The only toll rd she was near is belt 8. you can ride the feeder, or go a dozen different ways. If she was at all familiar with the area.

Same here. What was she doing for 1 1/2 hours when she said she was just going home 15 min, away?

I’m with y’all on this.
Let’s say it was nothing more than a tragic accident. And this can very well be the case!
But there’s still the question of what was going on during that 2:30-4am block of time?

My personal pet theory is that Erica met with someone in that 60-90 minute gap - the person she called after leaving her friends’ house.

I think she then had a tragic accident and ended up in the water.

The person she meet with, while not involved in Erica’s death, did not come forward as they had something to lose by doing so (e.g., loss of a relationship, legal trouble, etc).

A terrible accident.

There are many ways she could have accidentally driven into the pond—driving fast, blowing through stop sign, medical emergency, falling asleep while driving, hitting the accelerator instead of the break….

BUT I am having a hard time that her drive home from friend’s house was 15 min yet she was seen an hour and a half later at 4 am, then car pulled out of the lake no where near her home —even further away than the 4am sighting. Knowing her daughter needed the car at 5am.

I’m still leaning toward an accident, but I have questions. Like why was she even in Pearland? It doesn’t make sense, and I have a hard time believing she was lost for over an hour and a half when she was only a few minutes from home.

I live in the neighborhood where she was found. It is easy to get turned around in these neighborhoods, I agree, but Reflection Bay is not a very long road, so going super fast and jumping curb seems not likely. And you can not turn into the Shadow Creek Ranch from Hwy 288, and it is a ways away from the Beltway. Nothing is open on Shadow Creek Parkway late, not even fast food. I hope and pray that her family receives answers soon!

Perhaps you are correct.
RIP beautiful lady.

“There was a homeless community that reached out to us. They did not know we found her yet. But a homeless community was trying to help us look for her. That is just how much everybody loved her,” Ashley said.

Her three kids and sister placed a wreath in the pond and hugged each other tightly. As the sun went down, dozens of people lit candles and remembered a life taken too soon.

“She’s not here but she will live on through all of us,” Ashley said.

"According to Hernandez’s family, she and her mother were making food all day the day of her disappearance. When Hernandez invited friends and family over to eat, most of them couldn’t make it. Her family said Hernandez didn’t want to waste the food, so she decided to deliver it to them."

"Erica came to my house around 8:10 p.m. (Ring video). She left her car on because her kids were in the car,” Hernandez’s sister-in-law Eliva told KPRC 2. “Erica sat and talked to me for about five minutes and then left. Erica then went back home to drop her kids off.”

"Eliva said possibly around 9:30 p.m., Hernandez went back out to her best friend Maggie’s house to deliver more food. Eliva said Hernandez was there until about 2:30 a.m."

“Maggie was texting Erica during her drive home to make sure she made it home safe,” Eliva said. “At 3:04 a.m., Maggie texted Erica asking if she made it home yet. Erica replied that she was five mins away.”

Eliva said Maggie then asked again once five minutes passed, but didn’t get a response. No one has heard from Erica since.

"The most recent report from the Telemundo network indicates that, according to the relatives of the deceased, the telephone records revealed that a call was made from Hernández’s phone at 2:50 am to a number they did not recognize.

At a press conference yesterday afternoon, Pearland Police Department spokesman Jason Wells indicated that Hernández’s vehicle may have hit a curb before falling into the water."

Family and friends hold series of emotional tributes for Houston mom Erica Hernandez

A prayer and vigil ceremony was held in honor of Houston mother of three, Erica Hernandez, who was missing for 22 days before she was found.

Family, friends, and supporters gathered around the pond in Pearland's Shadow Creek Ranch Neighborhood where Hernandez was found in her submerged vehicle on Tuesday, just two days after Mother's Day.

A cross and tribute sits at the base of one of the nearby trees.

Hernandez's church, New Hope, led the prayer services on Sunday afternoon.

Hernandez leaves behind her three children, ages 19, 16 and three. The children held an emotional wreath ceremony and led a balloon release during Sunday's vigil.

Three children with the youngest only being 3 years old. :(
Could she have been talking to a child’s father and been distracted while driving?
Long day and dark driving conditions?

The Reflection Bay heading toward the retention pond is actually lit up with multiple dusk to dawn lights.
