I saw a tweet from Sheriff Dee Anderson saying that he would have no statements to make until Tonya Couch is back in Tarrant Co, in jail. I wonder if LE is going to be able to avoid the press when they bring her back?

@ScottGordonNBC5

'Affluenza' teen Ethan Couch 'had to hand over his Rolex watch when his mom couldn’t cover his $2,000 tab at strip club'
Ethan Couch, 18, received a slap-on-the-wrist probation term for killing four people in a drunk driving accident and fled with his mother to Mexico
  • Before he was apprehended, Couch partied the night away with two girls in a private back room at Harem, a Puerto Vallarta strip club
  • The club boasts of 'boobies and booties galore' over its main entrance
  • The 'staggering drunk' runaway was escorted back to his mother to pay bill, but was $345 short and offered up a Rolex watch as collateral
  • Couch is currently sitting in a jail fighting efforts to extradite him to Texas

The spoiled rotten 'affluenza' teen Ethan Couch spent more than $2,000 on hookers and booze at a Mexican club, but when his money ran out, he offered up a Rolex watch as collateral.
Prior to being caught by authorities, Couch and his mother Tonya went to a strip club in Puerto Vallarta called Harem on the evening of December 23, where employees said he partied the night away.
The 18-year-old, who received a slap-on-the-wrist probation term for killing four people in a drunk driving accident, had several drinks with his mother before she left the club leaving him behind.
While in the club alone, Couch maxed out his debit card as he partied with two women in a private back room area of the club that boasts of 'boobies and booties galore' over its main entrance.

How many times is he supposed to breach his darn probation before they can finally put him behind bars?
He already breached it, however many times, by not meeting with his probation officer, going to another country, etc... (that's not counting him being on video at a party which started the whole escape).
So why are they still saying that it has to be upgraded to an adult probation, and then he has to breach it again, before they could put his behind in prison?
It's infuriating.

Does his drinking at the strip club not count as another violation of his probation? There is proof of the drinking from all the articles regarding this incident.

We are not talking about a 20 year old drinking a beer at a party, are we? In this particular case, it sure sounds like Ethan was driving in that condition (how did he get to the location he was at, with naked girl found in the truck) but because cop didn't observe him driving (instead urinating in a parking lot) he wasn't charged with drunk driving. Regardless, he plead no contest and was put on probation for consumption of alcohol. He was apparently still on probation when he drove drunk, killed 4 people, and was again put on probation. So, yes, I would like to know what gives.
Wish they had charged him with drunk driving then (obviously he was), and driving without a license (underage driving) since he was 15 at most then. Maybe those people's lives would have been saved if he'd gotten a conviction then. His father seems to have wised up and divorced his mother. She is a real piece of work! Sure hope she gets a felony conviction for being a fugitive and aiding and abetting him!!! Mommy dearest, and he's not the least bit embarassed by hanging onto her purse strings. Wonder how he feels rotting in a Mexican jail without her???

I do wonder how he is doing with no family to support him, come to his beck and call and then he is confined to a jail, even with an attorney to visit. IF he is released in Mexico, he has shown he can not handle money, drinking, women and whatever else. Who will bail him out quickly....no one unless his mom skips TX and joins him. I dont see the dad doing that because he has the business that makes the money, which can run out pretty quick with a kid like that, and an ex wife. They have no idea how to hide and live off a little bit of money to make it stretch. IMO the end will not be so nice.

I'm thinking, no Blood Alcohol Content measurement to show it, no proof, no infraction. And if the witnesses/waitresses, etc., are not even in this country, no witnesses. Highly-paid attorneys earn their money by keeping their clients out of these messes, and I can just hear them now. "No proof, no infraction." Even seeing him at the party before he left, how could anyone prove that he was actually drinking alcohol and not tea or lemonade? For folks such as us, it might likely be different, but who knoze? Infuriating. TMO. Grrrrrr.

There ought to be additional violations tacked on for drinking at the strip club WITH HIS MOM. :gasp:

Violating Code OMGWTF, Section Oh Hell No.

Oh yes, for both of them :puke:

He is supposed to be in the country meeting with his probation officer. Instead he left the country and run off to Mexico. That is a violation of his probation for which they have absolute proof (he is in Mexico after all).

The SPCA in Puerto Vallarta, where the Couches were found, has posted a lost-dog notice offering: “REWARD $1000 DOG MISSING IN PUERTO VALLARTA.”

The dog, which looks like a large shepherd mix or wolf hybrid, answers to the name Virgil, according to the online notice.

According to the Facebook post, the dog was lost near Colombia and Argentina streets — the same intersection where the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office said the Couches were apprehended Dec. 28.

Rafael Mayorga, a spokesman for the Jalisco fiscal office, said that he had seen and heard reports about the missing dog but that he had no information about its whereabouts.

“The dog was never in our possession, so I cannot deny or confirm that the dog was there,” he said, adding that his office is looking into the matter. “This is also a mystery to us.”

Yes, no doubt that's infraction city, for sure. It was always my impression that if you missed a probation meeting, it could be grounds for going straight to jail to serve the remainder of the sentence. Oh, well, I guess not in this case. :(

On the drinking bit, I was thinking about the drinking alcohol aspect of his little Mexican holiday, but I didn't make that clear at all. Anyway, IMO he's in a ton of trouble, but will we see it? He just seems to float above all this like a flippin' black cloud. Infuriating.

Why can't out of country witnesses be subpoenaed? Surely some of the patrons there are Americans/English speakers, or the court can get translators. Maybe they can even Skype their testimony.

Tonya Couch expected to be returned to Tarrant County today. Her son, "Affluenza Teen" Ethan, still in Mexico.

But then he posts this tweet...(just tweet when she is in Texas...)

Doesn't appear they are in any hurry to get her here. There was just a tweet on nbcdfw.com that Tonya was moved this morning to the LA's all women jail. Tarrant Co. may be stalling here return because this could be the only jail time she will ever get.

I'm surprised at the articles acting like this transport is such a huge problem. I mean really. Get her on a plane between two plain clothes cops and sit her in the back. Done and done. It's not like she's made of plutonium.
