We know she went into his apartment and killed him. Those are undisputed facts. The question is why? Her explanation is unreasonable and defies all logic and common sense. So absent any mental defect or influence of mind altering substances, there's only one thing left. INTENT! She intended to do it. The circumstances prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

There's no way to go inside a person's head and see what their intent is. So we have to rely on the circumstances.

No doubt she intended to kill him. That's what you do when someone has broken into your apartment.

I seriously wish you would listen to the 911 call again. She also says more than once she thought he was in her apartment. Actually that's also her last sentence. I don't know how anyone could her it and think this was intentional or the act of someone unremorseful.
I've listened to that call numerous times. I believe she is remorseful. I also believe she was not in fear for her life.

She sounds remorseful. She never says she was in fear for her life.

She was certainly remorseful that she was going to lose her job.

She didn't show much concern for the man that she shot.

We're supposed to believe she wasn't in fear when she realized the door was unlocked and when she walked in. No fear there. Because if she was truly fearful why would she proceed into the apt? She's just so distracted and tired, right? But apparently not so distracted and tired that she would shoot to kill with in seconds. I mean, it's just so convenient. She's distracted and tired up until she's not so she can get away with murder.

You don't know that.

The one thing that would have benefited Amber would be if Mr Jean had lived. Amber needed Mr Jean to live so she wouldn't end up where she is right now as a defendant in a murder trial. If he had lived, the charge would be something like negligent discharge of a weapon. How does AG benefit by intentionally not rendering aid as you claim? It makes no sense.

What aid was AG supposed to render between 9:59:10 when she dialed 911 and 10:05:26 when Officers Lee and Blair began CPR - after AG had to go out and down the hallway to lead them to and through the apartment door as shown on bodycam? Was BJ breathing, did he have a pulse? I thought listeners heard Mr Jean in the background on the 911 call in which case CPR is NOT indicated (and anyone should know that). For a person to provide positional support, such as treating for shock, does not require getting covered in blood either.

MOO

The 911 call didn't evidence that she was rendering any aid of any kind. And I haven't watched trial but did t they say the first responders gave him CPR? Isn't that on video?

He is waiting for Guyger to take the stand and nail her on cross. Or, Guyger is really nailed if she won't explain her actions.

Either way, it is up to the defense now to "prove" that their client is so exhausted and fatigued that she couldn't think straight.

But if they prove that then they also prove negligence. You don't carry a loaded weapon into a residential area when you're too exhausted to think straight.

I can only guess, but Botham may have started raising himself off the couch to see who or what just entered his apartment. I really doubt he charged at Guyger. Especially if she "issued orders", which I also doubt because he would have been smart enough to heed her orders. Putting myself in his position, as soon as I saw a cop I would freeze. I'm betting Botham was smart enough not to challenge the woman in blue. It will be interesting to see how she spins her story on the stand. And I wonder which version we're going to hear.

I agree and listening to that 911 call changed my mind.

I will also say that watching the footage of the attempts made to save Botham’s life made me cry, and I’m a tough nut. This is a case I won’t soon forget, or his sweet face.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Yes, and today's testimony was that there was no blood on her uniform and no blood on the gloves she was carrying, which appeared to be unused. The testimony yesterday or the day before was that someone went into the bathroom to get a towel to apply pressure to the wound but someone else (not AG) already had placed something on the wound to apply pressure.

I think she's going to testify that he got angry and tried charging her and didn't heed her warnings. Or something along those lines. She HAS TO say that! Because otherwise it's a straight up execution.

It's completely unreasonable that there was no conversation between them, if you go by her claim. Even if he was startled, he had no weapon. If she was genuinely just confused and thought it was her apartment, there is no explanation why she would shoot him when he's just sitting on his couch and there's no weapon. He would've likely been too startled to try to charge her. I mean, anyway you look at it her defense makes zero sense. She's in uniform so he's not going to assume it's a burglar. He'll be shocked and wonder what's going on. He's not going to immediately charge a police officer in uniform. It makes no sense.

IMO AG did not intend to murder Botham Jean but showed depraved indifference to human life. This is evidenced by her failing to render assistance to Mr. Jean as he lay dying. Failing, probably because in her panic she was more concerned about her well being rather than the victim. This depraved indifference comes through when she is shown on bodycam video/still photos, texting in the immediate aftermath.

:( I was really looking forward to hearing what she has to say for herself. Just made a fresh coffee!

I bet I know what she's going to say:

"I didn't see the red mat. I was focused on getting home after a long day. I had saved so many lives. Protected so many people from bad guys. I put my key in and it fit. But something was weird about it. The key didn't turn but the door was unlocked. And I smelled the devil's weed!! That put me on instant alert! I believed a burglar had possibly broken in! So I cautiously entered, not sure d he was there or not. When I opened the door I yelled: "Police! Show yourself!" It was sort of dim and but I suddenly saw a figure of a man. So I yelled, "Police! Freeze! Show me your hands!" But he ignored my direct and clear commands. Then he began rushing toward me in the dimness with his hand raised! I had no choice! I was in such fear for my life! So I shot him!!

When I discovered it wasn't my home I was horrified! I immediately called 911 and checked to see if he was alive. I checked for a pulse. Looked for the bullet hole. Tried to make sure his head was elevated. I prayed of course, that God would save him.

But he died. I will never be able to live with what I've done. My sadness for his family is endless. I'm sooooo sorry. It was a terrible accident. If he had only just obeyed my clear commands he would still be here today! But he was probably so stoned he couldn't think straight..."
