I agree that we don't need to be judging the children harshly...they're just kids!

I haven't seen anyone accusing Clint of taking Hailey or bashing him. I do think that he and his girlfriend should have both taken LDT's just because they both were close to Hailey and need to be cleared. But then they might have ended up in the same boat with BD.

I would be thrilled if everyone, including Clint, his girlfriend, the new threat guy and anyone who might help locate him, would just undergo a new LDT with the entire thing, questions and all, done by proven experts who have nothing to do with CCPD or Mitchell county, just to be safe. It probably wouldn't hurt to hook up the officers who took the reports and wrote the affadavits as well...(I can only dream)...

Maybe they have by now... i think there is a lot that hasn't been publicized yet and may never be.

Because her daughter has become a victim in this whole mess too? Probably wasnt easy watching her daughter talk about her missing friend and worrying that something bad happened to her. MB was probably flipping out about the whole thing which would break any mothers heart.

We have sightings by a vet with "issues". An appointment that can't really be confirmed because the poor lady has "Alzheimer's". And a mystery man who threatened BD and HD a year ago who has just went poof and no one can find him. I think I'm seeing a trend here..............

This is the first time I see SA or his lawyer admitting that SA is not cooperating. I personally blame no one for getting a lawyer when they are suspected of a felony. However, having a lawyer does not = stop cooperating. Innocent people will continue to cooperate and their lawyer will help ensure that it is done in a manner that protects the suspects rights, imo. Why he is not cooperating? Didn't Billie say he was still cooperating?

Is it possible that whenever LE learned of the "threat" against HD and BD they (LE) decided at the time that they would investigate the "threat" but felt no need to mention it to BD since BD had already dismissed a threat against HD and BDs life and even went so far as to move in the person that had threatened their life? For me it is very difficult to lay the blame on LE when the person that should have taken all threats seriously decides that only threats from people other than SA should be important.

You win. I assumed that most kids would make and receive similar numbers of calls, but it isn't necessarily true of Hailey. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

May I add, LE's first allegiance is to preserve the integrity of the case and secondly to keep the family up to date on any progress... but they will also withhold certain information from them, if it might hinder their investigation.

My guess is they did not believe that by telling Billie about this threat a year ago that it would hurt their case and if they thought it would cause a problem, they would not have told her about it. MOO.

Wonder if there were any problems with SA taking all the money and not leaving the kids with enough snacks around the house. They did say they had no money and had to go draw out what little they had left to go buy some groceries and gas. This after he ran around all over the place all day wasting gas.

I thought she told LE that the money was used to buy drugs?

BD told LE it was for drugs (per the affidavit)

It feels like 'pick a lie'.

Right now it's 2 to 1 for a drug buy, so if there is a shortage of food in the house. Both BD and SA are to blame, but SA doesn't have children to consider.

If Hailey were going for a 'sleepover' it's unlikely that those snacks stayed at home. (Teen survival manual, as compiled by the 7 children raised through that phase)

I personally don't see this as a catch-22. BD is HDs mom, SA is no relation to HD at all. SA is supposedly the last person to see HD walk out of the house. SA is the person that is supposed to be able to describe what HD was wearing, what was said, what she took, if anything was bothering her, etc. BD is the one that should be begging for her child back, reminding people that they need to help in any way possible because she loves her daughter and misses her. Sorry but I can clearly see how the two should be completely different. MOO

Yes I believe that stories from that site can be posted but they are not to be taken as reports from media. The writer has likely gathered information from various blogs they have read and made them into a story so it can't be considered accurate MSM information.

Maybe the story of a threat was put in a report made by a person being accused of something and they were counteractiing what they were being accused of.Possibly saying it was someone else and not them that made a threat.If LE felt or knew the person was lieing to get out of trouble,it would still be something they now had to check into.
