YOu and me both... this is starting to send up my hinky meter on BO now too and i really hate to admit that......... :( :( She obviously wasn't as up on her daughters comings and goings as she should be. My mom would have grounded me for weeks for leaving a note that i wasn't gonna be home that night.... as BO had said Hailey would leave notes she was staying the night with someone.

I don't disagree at all that parents should pay more attention to these things, but is is criminal, or neglectful or even hinky, I don't know.... I have to say that while yes, I am that type of parent who goes so far as to send a medical release form with my child even if it is to a sleepover 3 houses down, I have never received a call from the dozens of parents connected to the children who have stayed with us, and they had never met me. It baffles me personally, but is it unusual or strange? Not in the least, in fact to me it seems to be the norm.

My biggest question concerning Billie is why she didn't bother to call the friend's house to make sure that Hailey had made it there okay or better yet know in advance that it was okay with the friend's parents that she spend the night. Maybe I parent the old fashion way but my daughter is 12 and you can bet your bottom dollar she wouldn't be walking to a friend's house to spend the night without my having already discussed the plans with the friend's parents, and she sure as heck wouldn't be walking there on her own accord. I'd be driving her there and making sure she made it. Here this woman is saying that she didn't even know her daughter was spending the night with her friend until she got home from work that night and she didn't even bother to call to check on her until the next day?

MOO? and JMO? I think Billie working long hours as a single mom was somewhat relying on others to help raise her children... a village kind of thing. Not judging, just stating. I dunno why she didn't call to check up, but I know people in my own life who do the same thing....

I do not see why MB's mom would lie as to whether she even knows Billie or not; surely Billie could clarify. And do we know that Hailey ever said she was sleeping at MB's on other occassions or was this the first time at that house?

WHOAAAAAAA..........I was born and raised in a small town, I know the in's and out's of that, a small TEXAS town none the less, but calling this woman a liar? Nope, WHY would she lie about that????????????

I haven't heard that she failed a polygraph....just sayin

Why is everyone taking everything Billie says as gospel? Why is it "assumed" that all of the investigating agencies are screw ups? On NG, beginning of the show, male reporter "reports" that the 1st search of the house was yesterday. That's not true....maybe being a Texan, and being very proud of the Texas Rangers....it's just insulting to read post after post denigrating them, the FBI,etc.

This is about Hailey. Not Billie. Right?

I think the tendency is likely because BILLIE is the one that started screaming from the roof tops that her daughter was missing, that she needed help. She asked LE for the blood hounds, SHE (and Clint) called the Texas Rangers in.

If she was guilty of something I don't think she'd call that kind of attention to herself ... especially if the police were just kinda shrugging their shoulders and calling Hailey a run away. Would have been easy to just say "Yeah, she's been having a lot of issues with us splitting up... she must have run away" but Billie was the one proclaiming that she KNEW Hailey hadn't run.

Certainly doesn't seem like the actions of a guilty party to me.

Kampfer confirmed that evidence was taken from Billie Jean Dunn’s home Wednesday that may have led to leads being pursued today. Although he wouldn’t say what items had been taken, he said the FBI — in similar cases — typically obtains soil samples and searches for *advertiser censored*, drug paraphernalia, bleach, gloves and shovels.

Billie Jean Dunn — Hailey’s mother — was presented with a list of the items that were taken, Kampfer said.

At 8:30 a.m. today, Billie Jean Dunn was inside her home with Hailey’s 16-year-old brother, DD and Billie Jean’s brother Dale.

BBM-What do we know about the brother? Could he be the other person that failed poly?

I think sometimes parents become complacent. When my daughter told me she was spending the night with a friend that she has spent the night with a ton of times. I asked questions, she knew the right answers to tell me. She is 17, never lied to me, I trusted her so I didn't call the parents. I know now that I will always call the parents. Unfortunately, for BD and CD they may not get a do over.

I am not about to believe that all the witness are lying and that everyone failed the poly's because the guy that gave them screwed up......my Lord, this ain't the Kennedy Assassination.

Well, I feel better she knew him for 2 1/2 years before moving him in. That's good.
I am just catching up.. but the MOTHER knew him this long.. not the chidren.. and all of a sudden boom here he is.

No wonder Hailey had concerns... ((per her own Grandmothers' words earlier linked today))

Please let's focus on Hailey and not bash her mom, dad, or any other victims here - I don't want to see this thread shut down.

I'd go through withdrawal right now... :seeya:

I have a question: If BO was told by SA that HD was spending the night with MB at her house, why, if HD had never spent the night there before and had never met MB's mom, didn't BO call HD to check on her? If the two moms had never met, did BO know MB's home number or MB's cell number? Did they have either one? BO seems believable to me. I think she may be exhausted and in shock. It just seems odd that she didn't call HD's dad or try to reach MB or her home to verify HD's whereabouts. She asked SA to leave until HD was found. She seems unsure. I'm worried....

It is unusual around here. Us parents talk, talk about older siblings, about firearms in the home, pets that may not be used to squealing kids or strange kids wandering the house at night etc etc.. pretty much anything that could come up. I guess that is what I'm used to for parenting... :(

Okay, okay, okay... hear me out. Soooo... If Billie truly failed the poly, maybe it was on the question "Do you think SA is responsible for Hailey's disappearance" or something of the like and said "no" but... the back of her head said otherwise. KWIM?

MOG and stuff.

Part #5 is now viewable. In this segment, IIRC, is where Billie mumbles to Clint while Nancy is talking to him about seeing the house from his house. I turned the volume up on that part.

I agree and still giggle when I read it... lol

About the United States Secret Service
The United States Secret Service is a federal law enforcement agency mandated by statute and executive order to carry out two significant missions: protection and criminal investigations. The Secret Service’s commitment to NCMEC builds upon a 12-year relationship in which the Secret Service continues to provide forensic, technical and investigative assistance in support of any investigation involving missing or exploited children. The Secret Service’s Operation Safe Kids initiative, promotes the safety of children by providing parents with a document containing biographical data, a current photograph and digitized, inkless fingerprints of their children. The agency also provides child safety briefings, bringing safety awareness to both children and parents.

Woody said anxiety meds effect truthful answers more than false.
yes they do! that is why people try to take them!
((ie before scheduled tests like sex offender/addicts have to pay for in treatment and sometimes court ordered treatment))

Not sure what u mean. I never called any particular person a liar

I am not about to believe that all the witness are lying and that everyone failed the poly's because the guy that gave them screwed up......my Lord, this ain't the Kennedy Assassination.

The problem now is that nobody will believe the results of any polygraph administered to anybody in the disappearance of Hailey .. this is to put it simply a very, very sad state of affairs that the investigating agencies are facing.

Wouldn't matter how many they give or who they line up nobody is going to believe them ... very sad.
