Someone want to call the HCSO and just ask about Sonia? I'm still hopeful when all information disappears on a missing youth, it is because they are alive and well.

I just got off the phone with someone from the Harris County sheriff's office and he says that Sonia Castanon is no longer listed as a runaway. I was told that she is alive and was located soon after she ran away, which would explain why so little info is available on her case.

So it's pretty safe to say that Castanon is not Smurfette.

Just talked to Dr.Derrick:

"I was just in the act of emailing you. Our office did not release the approximation – it was released by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. When viewing the approximation, please concentrate on the mid-face. The teeth are not as perfect as they appear and the hair is too light and not curly enough. The approximation also makes her look older than she is."

Yes, and take note of the commentary - Smurfette's teeth are not as perfect, hair is darker & more curlier & she's younger than the sketch.

Also, they do not believe she is Hispanic.

They are also working with missing and exploited to get another facial reconstruction, I'm assuming it may look quite different considering she wasn't too impressed with the sketch

I'm not saying its not possible, but case manager felt that Arielle Glenn had been missing too long to be smurfette and she went missing in April 2011.

Arielle Glenn is on the ruleout listing so this is offtopic.

Dr. Derrick has already looked into this one an according to Maryland PD she is safe.

Also found Marya White, also not smurfette(confirmed by Dr. Derrick) but she says she looks a lot like she would expect smurfette to have looked.
