Just got an email from Dr. D, she said she hasn't come across this girl; she said she will be looking into it today. She described Odalis as "interesting"!

Just received another email. Dr. D said she contacted HPD and that Odalis is not Smurfette, she didn't give an explanation; but sounds like Odalis had made some type of contact after Smurfette had been found.

I am quite shocked, I really had a feeling about this PM.

It does explain a lot though, about why her mother didn't make a public search until a white after she last saw Odalis. I suppose that because she had some contact with her, she hoped that Odalis would just come home.

I hope Odalis is safe and well wherever she is.

I will try emailing NAMUS again about Tina Velasco's DNA. They didn't reply last time and I didn't get around to following it up.

I know you guys are probably sick to death of me going on about her, but you know I won't be satisfied until she can be properly, 100%, definitely ruled out!

They mention a man and woman from Honduras promising young women a better life in Texas, and when they get here they throw them into the sex trafficking world. Hearing they were from Honduras made me think of Emely Gamez-Lopez(one of our best PMs that has been ruled out) could Smurfette be a trafficking victim from Honduras?!

Jumping from the possible Honduras connection I searched Interpol and there are several possibilities based on timeline of disappearance and age, however, there are not a lot of details, so they may be able to be excluded based on height and other factors.

For example, Samantha Bonnell's mother often checked Doe Network to see if her missing daughter may of already been found deceased. There was an episode on Disappeared about Samantha's case.

I absolutely LOVE doenet, however they don't feature many recent cases and when I say recent I mean within the last 10years - this is just based off of my knowledge of their missing index, I rarely use their unidentified index.

Doenet really comes in handy when you are looking for a decade(s) old case.

Doenet only lists old missing cases, but it lists recent UIDs. The most recent ones right now are fall of 2013. So maybe Smurfette would fit.

The table feature isn't working post upgrade so #1230 is void of data. The raw data still displays in #1225.
I posted in the upgrade thread that the mods are monitoring for bugs, suggestions & guidance regarding it so maybe wait until the dust settles and see if that feature returns. I'll plan an update to it with all the suggestions since January for a new thread.
