For those of you who want to follow the hearings.

We requested a copy of Jake's autopsy from the Dallas County Medical Examiner, but that request was blocked by the Smith County District Attorney's Office because the case is still under investigation.

I don't think this has been posted yet, so here goes. This is interesting, the behavior of these kids. It's almost like they had been raised in the jungle, by apes or something. Sorry, but it breaks my heart to think how little the adults around them seemed to care about them.

There were other people around these children. Why did no one help them? Breaks my heart!!!

Putting any child in the foster system scares me, I hope EXTRA CARE is taken in their placements and eventual adoptions!!!!!!!!

Prayers for these children.

David and Sabrina Kimbley sentenced to 4 years in prison for child endangerment

Sabrina and her husband David, of Winona, were each charged with 13 counts of child endangerment.

The Kimbleys pleaded guilty to two different agreements. In the first agreement, which consisted of four charges, they were sentenced to two years for each charges, to run concurrently. In the second agreement, which involves only one charge, they were also sentenced to two years in prison. That term will run consecutively to the first.

In August 2012, the Kimbley's 2-year-old son Jake was found dead inside a septic tank near the family's home. Jake's autopsy results have come back twice as pending and his death is still under investigation

from hollye's link also, which was my question:

The plea agreements are not related to the ongoing investigation into Jake's death, nor does it have anything to do with any potential charges that could still be brought at the end of the investigation into Jake's death.

Thank god they can still file charges! Wonder if the autopsy will ever be released. I hope this case doesn't get put on the shelf. That poor child deserves some justice.

The younger children are being well taken care of. They get therapy regularly and are making some progress with behavioral issues. I don't think there is any reason to worry about them. I don't know if they are in separate homes but the oldest child is with his bio father in another state, and it's said he is doing fine.

Sorry, can't find the link but this case is mentioned occasionally on our local news and this is the last thing I heard recently.

It won't get put on the shelf, they're working on it. I live in Smith Co.

I have googled and searched....looking for updates, anyone?

I only sent the email right before I posted. I'll let you know if I get a response.

I still think about lil Jake often. I cannot find any recent news. So sad.
