GUILTY TX - Jubal Alexander, 24, found decapitated, Angleton, 27 April 2016

A mother's worst nightmare began in the form of a Facebook message on her phone May 5th.

"His girlfriend had been contacted by a Port Arthur Police Department detective and told my ex-husband that Jubal had drowned," said Jubal's mother, Rebecca Alexander.

Detectives in Brazoria County, where it happened, told Rebecca something different.

"His head was removed, and he was left in his truck, and his head was disposed of or taken," said Rebecca.

Why would the detective have told her that he drowned?!?

An update from Brazoria County Sheriff's Office Captain Chris Kincheloe in The Brazosport Facts:

They have no new leads.

The Sheriff's Office has dedicated many resources to the case. Considers it a high priority. Approaching it as a murder investigation.

Kincheloe: "If we can put the clues together on the murder investigation, we can find out how the rest of it happened."

The body was sent to the office of the Galveston County Medical Examiner to examine as to how the decapitation was done. Does not know when they will have those results, but hopes it will be soon.

The boat ramp is "well-known" to area fishermen. It is in a "fairly remote" area of Brazoria County, with the exception of commuter travel on FM 2004.

They don't know how long Jubal's truck had been parked at the boat ramp prior to discovery.

Kincheloe: "I can't tell you positively how long it had been there."

The article uses the May 3 date for discovery of Jubal's body.

It also contains information that Jubal was employed by Performance Contractors and working at the INEOS Chocolate Bayou facility.

Performance Contractors is based in Deer Park, Texas, according to The Facts.

Why would the detective have told her that he drowned?!?

Perhaps that detective misunderstood what they were told by Brazoria County?

Or the information was misconstrued elsewhere in the retelling?

BCSO --> PAPD --> JA1 girlfriend --> JA2 (father) --> RA (mother)

It also seems possible to me that the decapitation may have been specifically withheld by LE in the notification until they spoke directly with one of his parents, as the girlfriend was not officially "next of kin."

I'm making an assumption that BCSO asked Jubal's parents to keep information regarding the murder as quiet as possible, due to the "sensitivity" of the investigation that was cited earlier in The Facts as to why it was ten days before the murder was announced publicly by law enforcement.

A tough weight for Jubal's parents to carry in light of their loss, but it appears that they were able to bear it as there's no visible indication that information leaked into the public prior to the official release of information.

I don't know if this information fits within TOS as it is in the "About" section of the Justice for Jubal Facebook page.

I'm assuming the page was set up with the backing of Jubal's parents and possibly even with the approval/encouragement of law enforcement.

The information seems important, so I am taking the risk of violating TOS.

The About section of the page says that Jubal Alexander was killed on April 27 between 9:38 am and 5:30 pm.

My presumption is that he was last seen/heard from in Angleton (stated previously elsewhere) at 9:38 am on that day, but did not show up for work that evening for his overnight shift at 5:30 pm.

There are several presumptions in my summation of the information.

Sorry, mods, if this information violates TOS. This is an "ask for forgiveness rather than permission" moment. :)

wow one was a freakin border patrol agent!!!!

I came across this more recent article on the Palacios Paz murder. It contains a good amount of specific information taken from an arrest affidavit.

Due to the recent nature of the article, I suspect the affidavit may have been unsealed not long before the article was published.

The article was published by the San Antonio Express-News on April 25, 2016.

It provides some indication of the method of decapitation in that case:

http://m.mysanantonio.com/news/loca...tails-investigation-into-five-men-7358774.php

I erred in some of my recollection of that case. Five men, not four, have been charged with the murder.

Palacios Paz was believed to have been actively working for a cartel. The motive for his murder as stated in the affidavit was that he was, or would be, talking to authorities about the involvement of the other five men in cartel related drug trafficking.

Alexander [JA2] found out his son was dead two days after Jubal's body was found headless in his truck, which was parked at a Brazoria County boat ramp.

"We had no idea they had taken my son's head," said Alexander. "I guess that was one of the hardest thing I had to go through."

Yes, that's one of the realities.

Money can be a corrupting influence.

In that case, the corrupt CBP officer was doing his dirty work with other members of his family. He was only with CBP for around six years up until his arrest. In his case it seems possible that he sought the position specifically for purposes other than enforcement of the law. I haven't read anything to suggest that; it's just in the realm of possibilities for that specific person.

That case is interesting in itself.

Anyhoo, here's a link to the WS thread on that case:

Taken directly from Brazoria County Crimestoppers website:

On 5-3-16, at approximately 6:00pm. Brazoria Co. Sheriff`s deputies responded to the Austin Bayou Boat ramp on FM2004. A caller reported what had appeared to be a deceased person in a blue Chevrolet pickup parked at that location. Upon the patrol deputies arrival they discovered a deceased male laying in the front seat of the pickup.

BBM - I would hope so....what else could it be?

I could have done a better job with the context of that comment.

Directly from the article:

Due to its [the murder] nature, he [Kincheloe] told investigators to work in practical applications, taking out all the sensationalism and conspiracy theories.

"Beside the gruesome aspect of the case, we're treating it like a murder investigation. If we can put the clues together...."

I think it's important to think about this type crime. Why cut an unknown person's head off?

Everyone acts like he was just a body before the decapitation happened. This seems to have been a healthy young man who was sleeping in the relative safety of his vehicle, possibly.

I don't feel like this was a cartel or drug related crime. Drug runners are more likely to carry guns than the equipment to take a head. I think the crime is being disguised by loosely mimicking the Paz murder last year.

Someone had to be very close to him to be allowed in his truck or to coax him out of his truck. Then he had to be killed either before or during the decapitation. This had to be accomplished with little to no blood evidence on the outside of the truck or the area immediately surrounding the truck like on the ground.

Depending on the amount of blood in the truck, lots of blood would indicate a live decapitation. Minimal blood with lavidity in the legs would indicate decapitation after death when the blood had collected to the lowest point of the body. No blood would tell me that a secondary scene is out there somewhere.

Somebody on the site repeated Jubal Sr.'s question of who would take a head. Serial killer is certainly an option, but it would need to be an out of towner. Most serial killers escalate, but I have close ties to the area and current criminal activity doesn't seem to support the types of growing pains for a Freshman Serial Killer. The victim for this type of killer is type specific not person specific.

Individuals with deep seated rage issues and fuzzy interpretations of right and wrong are candidates. It takes a lot of commitment to remove the head from the body- you have to really hate someone or something a person did to commit. This type of criminal may be an acquaintance or a stranger, but the motive was a driving factor in the murder. The victim for this killer is issue specific, not person specific.

Individuals trying to stage a crime to implicate a certain type of criminal or group of criminals. This type of criminal may have an idea of what to do, but may fudge the little details, like leaving behind the wallet, cash, and cellphone. In this type of scenario, I would expect hesitation marks on the body. A definite motive exists, but it's not robbery. Look at relationships, sexuality, and anything the perpetrator(s) would want to hide. This specific person was the intended victim.

WELCOME TO WS!

I love your name. I remember hearing about sassafras tea years ago.

You have a very good insight into how detectives should be approaching this case. If not, maybe they should enlist you to help them. Your thoughts on this case are very eye opening. He is young and strong. How does someone get close enough to kill someone who is sleeping in a locked truck? Maybe the window was open? The picture of the truck shows the windows shut. There has been no mention of a gun. And your thoughts on the blood are good.

It made me think about possible severe decomposition of a body closed up in a truck for 6 days in hot Texas weather. I don't know the temperature during that time period, but any closed up vehicle getting sun could get hot. Also, insects can find their way into a closed truck, especially if there is blood and an open wound and they can be used for a timeline just like a calendar.

I was searching around and saw that there is a body farm in Huntsville (up from Houston) like the one in TN.
Here is an article about it.

I haven't seen anything said by the girlfriend. I wonder if she is declining interviews or just not saying anything.

Thank you for my welcome. Sassafras was an old nickname.

I find this crime disturbing because of my friends and family in the area. My husband has fished around that area, and if the crime happened during the day, it could have been him or a number of his fishing buddies.

I think detectives should look into the fishing forums to see if anyone else mentioned fishing near or leaving from that location during the 5 day gap. My husband belongs to several and this crime is a hot topic in the forums. Which is how I learned about the investigation.

I may review the site, but I might not. I see enough graphic content on the medical app Figure 1. The site has taught me a huge amount about the workings of the human body and the horrors people can visit upon it. Huge amounts of injuries are survivable, but sometimes an injury to the head in just the right spot from a fall can end a life.

Razz,

I don't know why the girlfriend has kept her silence, but I don't blame her in this time of grief. Losing someone that close is devastating.

Now, there are scenarios which include her duplicity, but her silence is not an admission of guilt.

I agree with one of the other posters. I find it odd that the girlfriend did not report him missing if he didn't call in for more than a day or two. I would be frantic. I called the police for a well visit for my parents when they were out of reach for a day and a half. I got lucky, the cats had knocked a phone off the hook.

More interesting to me would be to know how often she was calling him in the time period he was unaccounted for by police.
