Totally MHO and nothing more: If he is a narcissistic sociopath, then he regards people around him as opportunities to do his bidding or obstacles to be removed.

His wife would be the perfect opportunity because she's totally dependent on him for support. He can force her to do his bidding.

Even if his true motive is revenge for loss of status and power, he can manipulate her into believing that he's been terribly wronged by his conviction.

He lost his job and his law license. How is he going to pay the mortgage, etc. He can make her see that Hasse and the McClellands have to pay for this injustice to him.

He might have even hoped to make her the patsy for the killings and he gets away with cold-blooded murder.

Very creepy.

If he is a sociopath, I think it's possible that EW will never confess. (like Scott Peterson). I just hope that LE has physical proof positive of his guilt & not have to totally depend of his wife's confession.

I'm also curious about how a married couple goes about planning 3 murders. Do they make plans over their morning coffee or do they make plans while engaged in pillow talk? Just crazy!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know how airtight it is, but I would say they have some evidence. They got the search warrants before his arrest. I just hope they find the weapon/weapons.

Press conference on CNN now. They are emphasizing how seriously they take this.

''The arrest affidavit says both prosecutors began carrying weapons after the trial because “they believed Eric Williams to be a threat to their personal safety.” After Hasse was killed, County Judge Bruce Wood said Mr. McLelland expressed concern that Williams killed Hasse.
"Mr. McLelland indicated to me very early, on the day of Mark's murder, that he felt like the person that needed to be investigated was Eric Williams," Wood said earlier this week. '''

Interesting stuff. Sorry if this was posted already.

They both are sociopaths in my opinion......well-maybe not. Maybe just both pure evil deliberately and knowingly. Is there a difference? Who cares.........

Death penalty for capital murder is the correct charge.
It really gets me that they lived so lavishly and just took that for granted. Brazen, arrogant, corrupt to the core. Monsters walking. Diabolical and reckless in their disregard for the difference between right and wrong. Seems it became such a hate crime and a power struggle-pride etc. It is a shocking crime and horrific in its reverberations. Who in this world can shield themselves against such? Must LE and peripheral people constantly be on their guard just to live and do their job? Makes me sick.

I'm done with my rant.

Can't wait to hear the rest of this, fox 4 saying that it was an elaborate plan that unraveled quickly. Friend of EWs rented storage unit and tipped cops. More than 40 badges and police gear. Why?? Why all the LE gear? Were they hoping to ride off into the sunset as LE and no one notice?? WTH?? McLelland's shot at 6am. I still wonder why she opened the door, or maybe they opened it to get the paper or something. Searched the inlaws cause he was driving back and forth and they believed he was hiding stuff.

Nicely done LE.

Okay, after doing some reading, it's all making a little more sense now. And I have to say Williams - what a moron. I mean really. In the search warrant of his hom said they found ammo and parts of guns that matched the slayings at his home. Why in tarnation would you have any of that near you?? Better yet, let's do some LexisNexis searches on Hasse and McLelland on our HOME computer using the good ole Kaufman County's log in. Oh, they'd have never caught that if it weren't for those meddling ex Guard buddies. Geeze louise. Smartest person in the room all right. I'm guessing maybe he was dressed as LE and got them to open door that way????? Who knows.

2 big questions - he bragged about being tested for gun residue after the Hasse killing. So what's up with that?? Does wearing gloves (if he wore them) take that out? Not getting that one.

And second question - someone asked this on fox4's facebook, will the 2 friends of Williams who gave LE the info about the modifying the guns and him renting the storage unit get the reward? I agree with the poster, they should. Wow.

I read that Mrs. McClelland may have opened the door only because she saw what she thought was an unmarked police vehicle in the driveway. For official police business.

Damn it. Premeditating murderers are they.

Or maybe they should give the reward to the ex-tx guard websleuth who suggested LE talk to those 2 friends of Williams. They wouldn't give the money to Williams' two friends b/c they will have to testify against Williams. And you can't pay for testimony. What tax is one supposed to pay on $200,000? ...25%?

CaptainJoe, I'm sure the IRS would let one know very quickly about the tax!! They'd be happy to tell you. ;)

O/T but I heard right - shooting at MIT. What in the world???

The timing seems right. I submitted the two names, along with their pictures, on the 12th, Friday. They talked on Saturday. I sure could use the money.
EW had complete access to the weapons in the Redbird armory. EW had so many guns (20) so that he could kill someone using a different barrel and firing pin, and then put the original barrel and firing pin back on the weapon, and he could dispose of the barrel and firing pin that was actually used. Find the missing barrels and firing pins and you will find the murder weapon(s). I have an idea where he put the barrels and firing pins. Time for another tip.

The Williams sound like Dumb & Dumber. Or perhaps they felt like their lives were ruined & decided to commit suicide by Law Enforcement. Just about the strangest case I've ever heard of. That this all started with the theft of 3 computer monitors is just beyond belief.
