New Clues & Bigger Reward In Hasse Murder Case

Investigators in Kaufman County are still looking for the gunman who shot and killed Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse. Several weeks ago, billboards went up across North Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, asking for help in the case. Those billboards have brought in some new clues and a bigger reward.

From the above link:

"Meanwhile, the reward pot has grown even larger — to a total of $130,000. “There is a $100,000 reward from Crime Stoppers,” said McLellan, “but there’s also a private individual who has promised another $30,000 to the person who collects that reward.”

It's hard to believe with all the resources state and federal together, they have not caught the killer yet...hope the large reward and new clues will help...although Hasse had received threats, he must not have known who made them.

Man, something is definitely going on in Kaufman, Texas and someone needs to find out exactly who is responsible for these deaths. I can't help but think it has something to do with several earlier convictions...kwim.

My condolences to Kaufman, Texas and the family of Mike McLelland & his wife. :rose:

Sources tell CBS 11 news that the DA was shot multiple times with what is believed to be an assault rifle while his wife was only shot once .

Federal and local investigators are now on the scene. The FBI, U.S. Marshalls and TX Rangers are increasing security around all Kaufman Co. officials.

The McLellend’s have five children, two daughters and three sons. One son is a Dallas Police Officer.

They're saying prosecutors and LE all over the area, not just in kaufman county are on high alert because they do not know what's going on and what the motivation is.

:( Please find these perps soon !

At this point, I don't think this dude or dudes care that much about how much trouble they will be...

Well, Evan Ebel couldn't have done this, but I think it's some of his "associates." Colorado's DOC needs to put all the known 211's in lockdown and question them all very carefully. I think all five of these murders are connected (ADA Hasse, Carlos Leon, DOC Director Clements, and DA and Mrs. McClelland).

JMO, IMO, :moo: , and all other disclaimers.

Just saw this and I live in a neighboring county. For those not familiar with the area - this is a small town close knit and not a hot crime spot. Somebody is pizzed off and taking names with no numbers.

I bet it had to do with this take down of the Aryan Brotherhood, posted on this thread...they will know exactly who these people are, hopefully to arrest them soon:

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - Federal agents charge 34 white supremacists

Federal agents arrested dozens of members of the white supremacist Aryan Brotherhood of Texas on Friday and charged them with murder, kidnapping, racketeering and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.

A 43-page federal indictment unsealed by the Justice Department names 34 members of the violent organized crime group who have been charged, including four of its senior leaders.

Is there anywhere this list of people is published? The names of the people indicted??

"We're very confident that we're going to find you, we're going to pull you out of whatever hole you're in, we're going to bring you back and we're going to let the people of Kaufman County prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law," McLellan said.

As of 3:30 p.m., there's been no arrest. During an afternoon press conference, Kaufman County Sheriff David Burns, District Attorney Mike McLellan and Police Chief Chris Albaugh begged the public for any information that could identify those responsible.

Hi Sailor, I'm on the far western side of the ' metroplex' and yes it needs to be stated for those who don't know that Forney Tx is a very small town, nowhere near big city , big crime type of places. That's what makes this so bizarre. I'm assuming LE/FBI are going through the recent AND upcoming court dockets to see if anything stands out. My thought it is must be someone who wanted out of prosecution OR feels they were wrongly convicted maybe last year or something. Sure is scary and sad :(
Horrible easter for some families today :(

My initial reaction was that this latest shooting & the Hasse shooting were related. Upon further reflection, I have begun to consider that this may not be the case. Over the years, prosecutors have a 100% chance of encountering all types of unsavory characters. Perhaps the killer/killers of the McLellans is settling another score & using the Hasse killing as a smoke screen to confuse LE. Whatever the case, I hope both cases are solved soon.
