My understanding is that King Jay was supposedly picked up from his grandmother's house shortly before this occurred. That should not be difficult to verify. I wonder if that is why we are hearing the father's family is not cooperating. No one will say when he was picked up or last seen because they know the information will point to the father or because they actually saw something or played a part in something. (Apparently the cousin is part of this.)

I'm on the fence about what King Jay's mom knows or is in on, but I really do not get a positive vibe from the way she's responding the entire situation. She isn't focused on finding her baby at all and to me that is more telling than using past tense. She also just happened to locate a baby bottle for a child LE does not believe was ever in the car. The more I think about this as I type, the more I am really starting to lean off of this fence.

That little face is really pulling at my heart. If I try hard enough, maybe I can convince myself the father's family has King Jay safely hidden away because they want to keep him away from his mother. The alternative is just far too difficult to accept. He is just too too precious.

Police Chief William McManus said Monday night that police have arrested the woman seen on video taking a car that reportedly held an infant Friday.

McManus said the woman, a cousin to missing baby King Jay’s father Christopher Davila, was arrested Monday on unrelated charges. Police said they will release her identity when she is booked into jail.
[...]
Investigators said that the cousin was dropped off at an adjacent street the moment before Christian Davila arrived at the gas station. She then entered the car and drove it to an intersection near Rodriguez Park where she left it and walked away, investigators said.

“We know who the person was who dropped her off as well,” McManus said.

McManus took a moment during the conference to address the criticism of police by King Jay’s mother Jasmine Gonzales, as well as a jailhouse interview done over the phone between her, King Jay’s father and a local media station.

“He spent more time speaking with the media, answering media questions than he spent with us or answering our questions,” McManus said. BBM

Gonzales said Sunday her fiancé Davila was innocent, and that they were focusing more on family members rather than searching for King Jay. Both she and Davila repeated this sentiment during the jailhouse interview.

McManus said during an update at police headquarters that officials believe the story of 8-month-old King Jay’s kidnapping was a setup to hide foul play. King Jay was never in the car, he said.

Family of missing 8-month-old King Jay Davila continues search with flyers

There has been some legal wrangling going on between the parents of King Jay since about April of last year.

Mother Jasmine Gonzales is married to another man. There a is divorce pending since July of 2018, filed by Gonzales and it appears to be uncontested.

We also found paperwork at the district clerk's office showing Gonzales' husband denied paternity of Baby King Jay, and that Christopher Davila signed an affidavit affirming he is the father.

Davila does have a criminal background dating back to 2008 when he was fined for possession of marijuana. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance in 2009. He was fined $4,000 for an assault with bodily injury conviction that same year.

Davila, who's story police say doesn't add up, has been charged with child endangerment in this case.

As the search continues for Baby King Jay and police continue with their investigation, we will bring you information as it becomes available.

I can’t help but wonder if this baby was alive and well at the grandparents house at all that day.
I see only two possibilities here. A dead baby or a baby who was sold or traded for something. MOO

The live video with baby in background was very strange. Especially adding in mom was fb friends with them. I hope it was a scheme to start a and not the other options. Either way, poor baby! :(

Just my opinion...but could the woman be the paternal grandmother? Did something happen to him while in her care?
Also, the description of what baby was wearing was a blue onesie correct?

I can’t help but wonder if this is the same blue onesie he was last seen in?

New here, this case is breaking my heart. I live in San Antonio. I have seen lots of fb posts by the mom and dad family and friends. I am hoping somehow King is still alive but I thought from the first video he was never in the car.

Let’s hope Mr. Davila is being followed, phone tracked and doesn’t know there is a gps planted in the sole of his shoe.

I know someone asked about the other 9 kids. One lady posted on FB that she is the mom of King Jay's 2 older brothers who she has custody of and the maternal grandma has custody/keeps at least 2 of King Jay's moms kids. Not sure on the rest of the kids. The mom is pregnant. I keep hoping she is not involved but her using past tense really bugs me. She is standing by the dad even after his cousin was identified as the one that took the car. I hope they find that baby but mostly I hope he isnt in pain.

Also of interest, the police chief stated LE does not believe the child was in the car seat at the time of the staged abduction.

So pretty much along the lines of the show I mentioned earlier. Google The Cry.

Basic story is their child dies and the cover it up by saying he was kidnapped from their car outside a store.
