Oops. Sorry, I suppose we already knew that. Has there been an arrest?

Cyphers is in custody, but he has not been charged (yet) for the disappearance/likely homicide.

That's how Austin authorities secured the involvement of federal law enforcement officials to procure a search warrant for Cyphers' property in Caldwell County. Authorities recovered six firearms and ammunition from a gun safe there, according to a federal criminal complaint filed April 15 by a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent in the Western District of Texas. Cyphers is currently in federal custody on a firearms charge and is awaiting trial without bail.

I came across this case when looking at something else.

Austin police detectives interviewed Cyphers about his actions in early April, but later determined he had been "untruthful as to his whereabouts," the statement said. As a felon, Cyphers acknowledged having firearms – which he is not allowed to possess under federal law.

In searching and processing a residence in the 6800 block of Montana in Austin, local investigators concluded that "an act of violence had occurred at that location and that the crime scene had been cleaned up," the release said.

Information obtained through 11 search warrants determined that the cell phones of Gibson, Taylor and Cyphers were all at the Montana address in the early-morning hours of April 2. Later that day, all three cell phone traveled together to Houston, where a call from Cyphers' phone was made to Megabus, a commercial bus line. Other calls were made within walking distance from where Taylor's Charger was found. Cyphers' phone alone then travels along the route Megabus takes for its Houston to Austin leg.

Gibson and Taylor both left children at their respective homes and abandoned steady employment, which friends and relatives said neither would do.

And there it is, an electronic trail of what happened the last night they were seen.

1) Cyphers met them at the strip club and left at 2 a.m.

2) They all go over to Cyphers place.

3) Something goes awry during the partying and Taylor and Gibson meet with foul play and vanish.

4) Cyphers gets in their vehicle and drives it, along with their phones, to Houston where it was abandoned.

5) Cyphers stages the scene to make it appear that Taylor and Gibson returned on their own.

6) Cyphers calls and catches a bus back to Austin, leaving their car and phones behind in Houston.

7) Cyphers gets back home and practices how to appear both clueless and incredulous in anticipation

of the knock on the door from the cops. an I dont know 23_11_52.gif an surprised 10_12_9.gif

8) The cops know he's full of s _#**#t.

All that's left now, is to figure out where he put them. My guess would be somewhere pretty close to where he lives.

I agree completely ... it's been awhile since I've looked at this case, was it ever stated that blood evidence was found in their vehicle? If not, I'm betting they are somewhere extremely close to his residence. He doesn't seem like the brightest bulb on the tree, iykwim and jmo.

I've given this some thought since we got the news. he must have left all three phones at home while he dumped them, then came back, putting all phones in the car and drives back to Houston. what I don't get is why he just didn't turn all phones off.

He's not tech savvy like us sleuthers. I'll also take a wild guess and predict that he had one hell of a hangover.

I agree he most likely left all the phones at the house while he was "getting rid of them". I don't know what happened at the house that night, but I imagine it was some kind of rage fueled by alcohol and drugs. The last contact anybody had with Taylor was at 3 a.m., when he got a call from his friend. Obviously this bunch had been doing a lot of partying up until that phone call. Of course, they weren't actually reported missing for a full 24 hours after that call, and the cops started searching for them the day after that. So he had a full 2 days to cover his tracks, such as cleaning up the house and getting rid of anything incriminating. It's also possible that they could've been dumped on the drive between Austin and Houston. That's a long stretch of open road with never ending side roads heading off in every direction. It would by a huge risk to drive along the Interstate with two dead bodies in the trunk......but.....it's happened before.

If the pings on the phones were stationery for an abnormal amount of time, bouncing off the same tower repeatedly, that might help to pinpoint a possible dumping spot. If there's a major river close to his house though.......well.............good luck. I'd guess that river, or one of it's side creeks, is going to be the likely spot. The sky's the limit on what he may have done with them before dawn that morning, I'm glad it's not up to me to try and figure it out.

He reportedly has property in Caldwell County that was searched. It isn't clear as to the extent of the property seach or how much acreage we're talking about.

I looked for property in Caldwell County and came up empty. Perhaps my search was flawed?

I did find properties in Bastrop County for a HC; I think those properties are probably his father's -- HC, Sr. HC, Sr. died in 2014.

Closest thing to definitive that I've seen:

Houston police notified Austin authorities that Taylor's 2010 Dodge Charger had been located in the 2400 block of Milam in downtown Houston the following day. Houston officials said that the vehicle contained "personal effects of Gibson and Taylor that people don't normally leave behind, and there was potentially blood and biological evidence in the car," the release said.

11 search warrants

The 3 cellphones
Gibson's car
Cypher's house in Austin on Montana
Caldwell County property
Any vehicles owned by Cypher

I wonder what else.

Wonder what other calls were made by Cyphers in Houston.

I'm thinking his cellphone may have been a gold mine for investigators.

I hope the families are provided with answers sooner than later.

Still no charges for murder? I see where Cyphers is in custody on the federal weapons charge, but I'm not seeing where he's been charged with anything on Krislyn or Sidney's disappearances. I assume they are still searching for the bodies and evidence to prove he killed them?

I saw where someone said Bear Creek Park is on the way in to Houston from Austin. You would actually have to turn onto Highway 6 or Eldridge and go down a couple of miles to get to the park itself...regardless of which highway is taken from Austin to Houston. I live within a mile of the park. Does anyone know any more details on the ping near the park?

I am new to this thread. Forgive me if I missed something.

I go to Bear Creek Park with my dog just about once a week or so. I always keep an eye out for anything that could be related, but I wish I had a starting point as to where the ping was...and if it was inside or near the park. I have read both. The park is enormous with a lot of different sections and roads...tons of wooded areas...not to mention at least 2 deep creeks... and it would take longer than a couple of days for Equusearch to cover the whole place. They could be there.
