This could have been their regular route. Maybe an okay one under different circumstance. I think he was going to family in a panic. Louisiana is very close to Houston or even Galveston and the Gulf. Who knows what he was thinking.
I'm just glad he finally talked!

But this route was not towards Louisiana (her family iirc). It was towards St Louis where the other part of his family was iirc?

Yes, I was addressing the fact if he was just looking for a place to dispose of the body there were more logical places to do it.
His going where he did makes me believe he was fleeing to family.

Got it, but why would he be fleeing to her family in Louisiana, which he did not. When his family is the opposite direction of where the body was. I don't know that he has any family in Louisiana, I thought it was all in St Louis Missouri. I thought his mother's family was from Louisiana. Perhaps I'm wrong? Looking for a correction if so, thanks.

I think it's BB who has family in Louisiana. I didn't say he was going to family, I was replying to a statement that maybe he was trying to go where there would be less suspicion it was Maleah. Trying to get over state lines. And Louisiana state line is a much closer possibility.

Gotcha, I guess I'm still misunderstanding because he did not go to Louisiana, was that closer than Arkansas?. He went north (in the opposite direction) to Arkansas and towards where his brother moved to and his family was from in Missouri.

Louisiana (east) may have been closer and where her mother BB2 was out of town at in the beginning, on the other side of the family, oh, but he did not go there. Hmmm

I'm going to have to do a map to see whether Arkansas or Louisiana was closer for him to dump the body. Over state lines.

ETA, yes, it would have been very close for him to be taking a body over state lines if he went to Louisiana. But he chose over five hours to go to Arkansas.

That just bugged me. (I realize I'm out of patience.) Why did she need her own little segment? Yesterday was Maleah's day. I don't care what the issues are or are not with Maleah's biological father, even if there are any. My personal opinion is she should have been right there behind that banner walking with everyone else if she's physically capable.
Could be wrong but I highly doubt if BB2 would have been welcomed by the Davis family at the walk despite BB2 not publicly appearing to support her own daughter.

I am the one that speculated maybe he just wanted to dispose of her over state lines. I think it is a stupid move because I would think that could bring some federal charges but he is not the brightest apparently and I thought maybe figured over state lines would make it harder to investigate and even fit with his false story? Also no one was looking in Arkansas they were looking in mainly the Houston area of Texas.

I think Lillymac's point about the route and him being familiar with it from having traveled it to see relatives previously, is that it is not the closest or shortest route to St. Louis or most logical one from Houston, so why that route and why possibly familiar with it?

The Louisiana remark was about it being closer if his purpose was over state lines.

So kind of three different points going on and none of it has to do with her having family in Louisiana, just him looking for a disposal site, maybe over state lines, and I was wondering why he chose the route he did and AR, and whether any state was closer if he simply wanted it to be across a state line.

Not sure if that clarifies either but I tried :)

Timeline - Update #10

July 10, 2018 BB took Maleah to the ER because she was throwing up blood. Doctors reported Maleah was "extremely lethargic." Maleah was treated and released. [35]

July 28, 2018 BB contacted BB2, who was in LA, and stated that Maleah had fallen from a tall chair to a marble table. BB2 advised BB to take Maleah to the hospital. At the hospital, Maleah was observed with a laceration to the forehead. BB denied vomiting or abnormal behavior from Maleah. She also denied seizures or lethargy in the medical record. Maleah's forehead laceration was repaired. No imaging studies were reported as completed. The surgical pathology report revealed a chronic subdural hematoma displaying a prominent fibroblastic proliferation with collagen deposition, numerous small vessels, many hemosiderin-laden macrophages, and acute hemorrhage. [35]

August 1, 2018 BB2 was at work and Maleah was in the care of BB and DV, who lived in the home. BB texted BB2 that something was wrong with Maleah and that her eyes were rolling back. BB2 told BB to take Maleah to the hospital. BB2 did acknowledge that BB had to be told to take Maleah to the hospital. BB took Maleah to the hospital and she was transported to a different hospital where she had a craniectomy to relieve pressure. [35]

Medical professionals stated that the story BB and BB2 told about Maleah falling from a chair would not have caused the serious internal injuries which required half of Maleah's skull to be removed. Doctors ordered that she wear a helmet for 12-24 months while she healed. [35]

August 3, 2018 The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) received a report alleging physical abuse and neglectful supervision. [35]

August 10, 2018 It was determined that the findings of two separate injuries (frontal laceration and a second fracture to the left posterior temporal bone) indicate more than one impact to Maleah's head. [35]

August 14, 2018 The DFPS obtained TMC (temporary managing conservatorship) of all children due to concern about the safety and care of the three children in the home. [35]

August 21, 2018 ORDER SETTING HEARING AND APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN/ATTORNEY AD LITEM [51]

Hi all. Any updates as of today/the weekend? I've been away all weekend & morning and am about 20 pages behind. Any quick cliff notes or big changes while I catch up?
An interview was released (I think on Friday?) of DV's mistress/side piece/lover about how he's not gay and BB threatened her a year ago. Oh, and she writes him letters in jail updating him on how the media is portraying him.

No major developments in the case this weekend; both days were about honoring Maleah in both Arkansas on Saturday and Houston on Sunday.

BB2, BB's mom, made an appearance with one of the main detectives on Sunday in which they shared a hug and spoke about Maleah.

A sea of pink filled Houston's City Hall this weekend, but one local man decided to paint a mural of 4-year-old Maleah Davis' name on the fence of an apartment where she once lived.

Thank you! It didn't seem like much had developed but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

I think we be clear.:)

Links are all here in the media thread: TX - TX - Maleah Davis, 4, Sugar Land, Media, Maps and Timelines *NO DISCUSSION*

When I mapped Sugarland TX to St Louis, it shows the quickest route taking 59 all the way to Texarkana where you get on I30.

Louisiana would have been a lot closer, I think it’s 3 hours to get to Vinton LA depending on the awful traffic and road construction on I-10.

I think he went with a route he knew and was trying to get as far away from Houston as he could.

Closer places would have been the Brazos River and nearby wildlife refuges.

I think it's BB who has family in Louisiana. I didn't say he was going to family, I was replying to a statement that maybe he was trying to go where there would be less suspicion it was Maleah. Trying to get over state lines. And Louisiana state line is a much closer possibility.

Yep!

I too said the same thing, and referenced Foxfire, RIP, as far as crossing jurisdictional state lines.

If he took her all the way to Arkansas, I think it might mean that Arkansas means something to him. Because Louisiana is right there, way closer, way easier.

I wonder this as well.
