This news source is Indian and I believe much of the meaning is lost in translation.

Having said that, my opinion is that much more information is going to come to light about this family, immediate and extended. Of course, MOO.

Right. "Investigating" here could mean that investigators are currently keeping an eye on their whereabouts, or that their whereabouts during the time of her disappearance are being investigated.

I find it very infuriating that WM is walking around (somewhat) free while all of this time and manpower is being put into searching for his little girl. It just makes me sick. The odds of him truly not knowing where she is are practically zero, in my opinion.

The amount of love, compassion, and concern shown on this thread, however, are priceless.

Reminds me so much of Lonzie Barton. Everyone knew Ruben Ebron put him somewhere but he denied it until one day he just confessed. Baby Lonzie will never get justice though because of how long he was out there, IMO. I hope if little Sherin is no longer with us, and I do believe that’s the case, that she is found soon enough for a COD and MOD to be determined.

It is also all very strange, and iirc wasn't wearing an ankle bracelet a condition of his bonding out?

The police are also actively investigating the legal status of Sherin's adoption. They are also know to be investigating the whereabouts of the parents, Wesley and Sini Mathews....

From what I think was Maria Guerrero talking yesterday, he has a gps monitor but is not under house arrest. Therefore able to move around etc. If that's what's going on, I think the article may be saying they're watching the parents closely. I think they likely asked he be released with gps monitoring in hopes he would return to Sherin or try and move evidence.

Are both parents still living at the home?
I can't imagine staying with a man who put your little three year old toddler outside at three in the morning in the dark, not even in your yard but outside your fence. Just that alone would be enough to send him packing. JMO

I sure am curious to know if Dad gave the same story to Mom and if she bought into it, because LE sure isn't buying into it.

From the above link: "The police are also actively investigating the legal status of Sherin's adoption. They are also known to be investigating the whereabouts of the parents, Wesley and Sini Mathews."

The parents' whereabouts??

Is that a misprint? Maybe they mean the parents' whereabouts during the disappearance?? Or, are the parents now missing?

jmo

Yes, I also lean in the direction of a poor translation and the actual meaning has to do with the parent's whereabouts prior to investigation (specifically 4-5 AM). Dad is on an ankle monitor, and while I suppose he could have gotten it off and split, I think the American press would have had a bigger noise.

It did appear as though Indian officials were looking into the adoption status, out of understandable concerns. Seems like on this side of the pond it would be pretty simple (for LE) to look up the court record associated with finalization.

Oh, so they mean they are actively investigating the whereabouts of Wesley's parents? Not Wesley and Sini themselves?

Lots of questions. But I would think that the people most interested in Wesley's parents would be members of the press.

And I would suggest that it is understandable for them to stay somewhere away from home at this time.

Hmmmm....it's possible but given her tiny size I would imagine she's still in a car seat. It could be a backpack? Just looking at the size of it...or a blanket?
Ugh, makes me sick thinking that this poor baby is still out there :(

Not all parents are really good about car seat laws though....

I think the wording in the article saying

"police are investigating the parents whereabouts" or however exactly it was worded means

They are trying to find out their whereabouts DURING the time of Sherin going missing...not now

I don't think they recovered a booster seat (or a car seat), because, why?

Ditching the car seat--especially where it might easily be spotted--just calls attention to the area of interest. But further, a disappearing car seat doesn't fit with his cover story that he set her out in the alley and she just vanished. They coyotes broke into the SUV and took it with them? JK

NOPE! No standing by anyone who hurts my babies.

I have no clue if its a booster seat, I was just suggesting what I think it could be. If something has DNA on it why wouldnt you get rid of it? So many ways and reasons people get rid of things during a crime.

OH I must have missed the missing car seat info.
I’m sure I remember a case a few years ago where a “father” tied weights to his baby daughters car seat and threw her/the car seat in a river, killing the precious baby! Not saying this is what’s happened here (& certainly hope it isn’t) but the ‘missing carseat’ made me remember this sad case.

No one reported her carseat missing.

I am speculating on what the item recovered could be :)
