Took the dog to search the culverts. Indicated and animated when they went to the 2nd culvert. |They could then smell the decomp themselves.

Dog pointed with nose into the culvert, an official indication that the dog had found remains.

Dog was GPS tracked and the route map is being shown on screen.

Officer Jeremy Savage is the next witness to be called.
Discussing the 5 hour wait by the parents to report Sherin missing.

Hard to hear. WM sounds calm.
Police call handler sounds in disbelief that they are so calm reporting a 3 year old missing for 5 hours.
WM giving alot of detail about her not eating and putting her outside.

Policeman sounds like he can't believe WM. He is so calm and she has been missing for ages, and he says he put her outside the garden.

Police asks if they have been looking for her for the 5 hours. WM says we tried but it's quite dark. He says he looked for 2 hours.

Savage goes to the home and sees WM.
WM says similar to what was said in the phone call.

They went to the exact location that WM said he placed Sherin and started their search from there. Called in extra police.

Savage felt panicked and concerned. Checked the house twice. WM followed them round the house instead of leading them. Savage is frantic, looking for the child while WM is calm.

Recent laundry had just been done. Wondered why they were doing laundry instead of searching - but htought this later, at that moment they were really worried about finding Sherin.

Canvasses entire neighbourhood. a helicopter, Fire department etc all came out to help. WM still insisting Sherin has just wandered off.
They checked the 3 cars, twice. Were wearing bodycams.

They keep repeating to WM "you out her out here at 3am???"

WM calmly retelling the story of her not eating, like he has all day.

11pm she wouldnt drink her milk so he put her in the garage. Still wouldnt drink, he told her dont push me! So he put her out by the car. She still wouldnt drink, its now 1.45am. He kept going out, she still wouldnt drink. So he put her out further. 2.45ish he put her out in teh feild, she was crying "dad, dont go!"

The tree is 30 yards from their house. Every time they repeat it, you can tell LE are in utter disbelief.

3.15am, WM went out to check, she's gone. LE asks why they didnt phone then. He didnt wake SM. He searched by himself for a while.

No tears, no anxiety, no worries, WM is just wandering about in this bodycam footgae.
