Yes, I think it would be good for all of us to keep in mind that LE (or anyone else being quoted) isn't laboring over every word they choose, looking up dictionary definitions.

Also that morning he spoke with someone that put about a page about their
conversation. (I will not give name) but he said he and his friend had rented a car
and we're on the way back. I looked up rental cars and
Enterprise nor airport locations rent until 8am. With that how can you get
from Biloxi to Shreveport by 11:30am? It is 393 driving miles.

All my opinions. Just sharing.

Thank you for your great research!!

I just read that they rented a car in Gulfport MI. Google search shows the earliest time a rental agency in Gulfport opens is 7:30am. So allowing a few minutes for signing out the car, we have them driving 381.2 miles (mapquest shows this normally takes 5hr 37 min) in 3 hrs 30 minutes.

That's pretty impressive driving to be able to cut 2 hours off of the normal trip time. In fact it's an average of 108 MPH. WOW. Not sure what it means, but WOW.

If I were driving my friend who had just found out his wife was murdered, I'd go that fast too! With or without a police escort.

what a great post, thankyou!

but i was confused on one thing. why do we think BB was in (or needed to be in) Shreveport by 11:30am?

In the hallway before the doors the tile grouting is blurred. Maybe MPD photoshopped the blood out? Why are the lines not clear prior to reaching the doors?

Oh, boy, maybe I was wrong about bathroom.

I've always assumed this was a private fishing trip with just the two guys. One was a vendor and paying expenses. He would have rented a car so that each day they could get from hotel to the fishing spot. Unless I missed it, there's been no indication that they were going to leave their hotel and sleep on a boat for two nights.

He said something about no one would be able to contact him for a couple days...

Yeah, this average mph is unrealistic, at best. In my mind, it's bordering on preposterous. If you tried to average that speed (stops, towns, traffic, refueling), that would mean you're traveling far faster on the stretches. When you're driving a car that fast, the fuel efficiency drops dramatically, forcing you to stop and refuel two to three times more frequently. Any time you hope to save by driving well over 100mph would be nibbled away by the extra fuel stops.

For this reason, I think the car was more likely rented the evening before, and not the morning of.

Please know this is ALL MOO! It’s conjecture based on my brain’s intersection with all posts, FBI stats and what I have seen in interviews. I know it’s long, but I have no one to talk to about this case. Please forgive me!

Welcome, Mainely 16! Terrific post!
I totally understand. I, too, have no one to talk to about this case. When I go on my mini-posting binges, I feel almost guilty. ;)

Just a quick thank you for your post. It was interesting reading through your thought process from start to finish. Regardless of whether or not others agree with your statements (I happen to agree with much of what you wrote), you clearly didn't come to your theories lightly. You have followed the case, researched independently and put together a very likely motive\scenario. Nice job!

Agree!

"It's almost like having a tarnished memory," she says. "I hate that I have a tarnished memory, and I don't want them to have a tarnished memory." It helps them to hear that their dad "loved her no matter what," Tucker adds. "Whatever happened in the past, he still loved her."

Continuing talk about infidelity. Imagine what was said about MB while she was alive.

what a great post, thankyou!

From an unreliable source who thought Brandon was in Florida rather than Biloxi, MS.

It's absurd to build theories around one small bit of unreliable information.

According to BB himself, he arrived in Midlothian at 3pm on the 18th. There's also a news clip that was filmed at 3:30, shortly after his arrival home. Shreveport is just over 200 miles from Midlothian. The source that placed him "outside Shreveport" at 11:30 may be unreliable, but the mileage/timeline still puts BB somewhere in that general vicinity around mid-day in order for him to arrive home by 3pm.

To fish Chadeleur Island you go by boat, several hours and you stay out there for a couple of days. Most people wouldn't rent a car that was just going to sit there a few days. He said his friend rented a car and drove him back. To me that sounds like it happened AFTER he got the call.
If he was able to leave at 7 am that gives him 8 hrs to make it from Gulfport to Red Oak by 3pm. That is possible. If he couldn't get out till 8 it's only 7 hrs. It's hard to shave an hr off but I guess it can happen in an emergency.
But I have to say I don't buy the story by MT that his fishing was pushed back a day. Weather almost never affects the trips or fishing out there and the weather that delayed flights out of DFW when he left didn't affect Biloxi.

Just bringing this over from the media thread with today's date.
"This case is far from stalled" per LE. Even though it feels like it at times, good to know.

Johnson says that Missy's family members "are not a focus of the investigation. And that's not double-talk; it's very much not. But one thing I will not say is that anybody is eliminated. I want to stop short on that."

ETA- interesting comment while also saying it may have been an untargeted "hit." Leaves the playing field wide open (and frustrating).

"Untargeted type of hit". Wow!

Hertz opens at 7am. Did not check the other rental companies:

Drive time estimates are based on the posted speeds along the route, not the actual time a trip takes. Drive times do not account for traffic, stops, refueling, etc. Sure, you can shave off an hour on the drive time by speeding. But you still must account for any delays or stops, which can't be shaved. You still must account for those additional stops created by the exponential decrease in fuel efficiency from speeding.

But I have to say I don't buy the story by MT that his fishing was pushed back a day. Weather almost never affects the trips or fishing out there and the weather that delayed flights out of DFW when he left didn't affect Biloxi.

I missed this. Would it be possible to post the source? Thanks in advance!

Did his friend drive BB back? I must have missed that somehow.

He didn't drive himself. He was there on the trip with a buddy, and the friend would have driven back so BB could focus on phone calls.
